This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. It might have been a little silly, but it was a pretty good show until the Mearth character came into the picture. Then it was just plain stupid.

I did like the guy on this show named Exador, who was a total fruitcake... the rest of it makes me glad I never snorted lines...

I think Mork was on Speed!

I enjoyed watching this show with my kids when they were young. I probably wouldn't have watched otherwise. I started paying attention more when they brought Jonathan Winters on as their child, but not much happened in spite of J.W. being there.

I enjoyed it then, but I was a kid. Trying to watch re-runs as an adult it painful!

I supposed "Mork And Mindy" can best be described (in short) as the 60's "My Favorite Martian" on amphetamines. Nevertheless, I've never cared much for Robin Williams' (Mork) manic style of his early career, though I did like Pam Dawber's (Mindy) girl next door portrayal. As some of the prior reviewers noted, this series was a spin-off from "Happy Days" and the producers kept messing up the concept (e.g. add Jonathan Winters) and moving the show around. I've also always liked Tom Poston in all of his supporting roles, including on this series. The show's most enduring aspect (and what ultimately gets it three stars) was Mork's final comedic commentary on human behavior in his reports to Orson.

Williams far outgrew the show, eventually, the early episodes, the first 2 to 3 seasons were great.

Another ugly stepchild begotten from Happy Days. The only question was who had less talent the Manic Mork and the sedated Mindy.I don't think people understood what Robin Williams was saying and only laughed because he looked funny. The only good thing about this show was excedor a bizarre cult leader who Mork Befriended. Why couldn't Morks Egg have sunk to the bottom of some bottomless sea like the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

While I did not really care for this show, it did introduce me to Robin Williams whom I do really enjoy now. The show itself was not that great.

This was one foolish show for making Jonathan Winters a baby. This tactic just made the comedy unbearably silly and pretentious.

You have to be a Robin Williams fan to enjoy this show.

This show was so huge in its first year that it took another three years to die after ABC meddled in and ruined it prior to its second-season premier. Where did Mindy's Dad and Grandma go? Well, the network did some market research, apparently dissatisfied that this show finished its first season *only* ranked #3. What they determined is that young people only want to watch young people on TV. When I read that Conrad Janis and Elizabeth Kerr had been fired I couldn't believe it. This was the year ABC tried to dominate every night by taking its established hits and moving them to the nights it wasn't winning. M&M moved from Thursday to Sunday (replacing Salvage-1) and started the season with a full hour of that awful alternate-universe episode. The following week we got a peak at the deli and our first opportunity to seriously resent those mopes who ran it, one of whom was Jay Thomas with poodle hair. Eventually both Dad and Grandma did come back at least occasionally, and the show promptly returned to Thursday and stayed there, but the damage was done. Thanks to network executive myopia what was a mega-hit in the summer of 1979 was so obscure by the summer of 1982 that nobody even realized it was on anymore. Proof that this is literally true can be found in reference books that list the date of its last broadcast on the network as June 10th. The correct date is August 12th.

This is a great show. It's so good that even after 20 years, it still affects a lot of people.

Mork and Mindy is an extremly funny sitcom starring Robin Williams and Pam Dawber. I always get a kick out watching watching Mork do all of those crazy things. And the guest spots on the show were really good too. Mork and Mindy was a spin-off of the show Happy Days, in which Mork from the planet Ork crashes in his space egg at Arnold's restaurant, and he shelters with Mindy, who finds himn attractive.

robin williams is overrated
Soldierblue 09/16/2000
Robins williams improvisation made this show class.....Pam dawber laughed on screen as we saw the antics of the madcap Mork.....a modern groucho......Williams was fantastic.

Nanoo Nanoo, rainbow suspenders and travelling through space in a giant egg. All classics that American culture will easily identify with the phenomenon of Mork & Mindy. What the hell were they thinking, though, whne they introduced the character of 'Mearth' - the Jonathan Winters role near the end of ths show's run? So bad that it is now hilarious to think back on it. If Mork used his powers and the Fonz used his powers, who would win in a brawl? Tthe answer will be shown some night this year on Nick at Nite.

Back when this show was on, who would have thought that Robin Williams would be known as one of the top actors and the winner of an Oscar, while Pam Dawber would be known as Mark Harmon's wife. The show was a great showcase for Robin Williams comic genius before his yelling and screaming became stale.
Ruby 08/23/2000
A pretty good show in its heyday -- but what a disaster when they added Jonathan Winters as the "aging-in-reverse" son of Mork.
