a wonderful family show

Contrary to what Arizona Bird said, 7th Heaven did NOT rate lower than Gilmore Girls and Jack & Bobby during its 9th season. 7th Heaven was the WB's most-watched show straight from 1998-2006! Go try and find another show that was #1 on its network for 8 years! Good luck.... Thanks for 11 great seasons, 7th Heaven! You are missed!
Vudija 05/06/2007
I liked it in previous seasons, but it's still not a bad show.
Donovan 05/06/2007
UPDATE: I agree with Gloomyeeyore this season is not as good as previous seasons and the producers need to step up. Part of the problem is the show is loosing characters with each new year. So 5 stars down to 4 stars... ORIGINAL MESSAGE: A wonderful family show. This is one I do not like to miss.
Gloomyeeyore 05/06/2007
I used to watch 7th heaven when it first started, but it has overstayed its welcome on the air. I stopped watching this show because a lot of the storylines kept revolving around the fact that they had to have a boyfriend/girlfriend, I did not like that they were making it seem like there is something wrong with you if you don't have one.
mrsg 04/20/2007
I just LOVE 7th Heaven! It is a good wholesome family show with no crazy violence.
GenghisTheHun 03/10/2007
It was nice but clearly has jumped the shark.
Randyman 03/10/2007
I watched this show early on and thought it was fairly good, but as the seasons progressed it started to become completely unrealistic. Now I love my kids, but I cannot imagine prying and continually trying to correct my kid's friends lives, their kid's friends parents, their neightbors and on and on and on. Somebody would have killed them already, possibly their own children.
rockerrreds 03/10/2007
Could be used for torture purposes-just intolerable.
suzanne21 11/10/2006
Great family show with values and feeling. Last year was the very best ever. This year is a bit slow but maybe it will end up O.K.
Arizona Bird 05/21/2006
The 9th season of 7th Heaven was a season of boring no talent stars and overall junk(no wonder Gilmore Girls and Jack & Bobby got higher ratings this year). I best enjoyed 7th Heaven in it's earlier years. The good old days of 7th Heaven were when almost all of the kids were not grown up(in the new episodes Simon is a grown man and Ruthie has nearly become a young adult so the twins are the only kids left)and the show was also at it's best when the Camdens seemed like people with platinum hearts. It was also when the parents of the Camden kids(Eric and Annie)knew how to love or help their kids or the people of Glenoak with gentle care. But now it seems like Eric and Annie just want to buzz into lives of everybody just so they find out what is going on. And creators of the show always have the family puting simon in the ringer. The Camden family has gone from people that can rub some advice on you with your family to silly bad people on a show that you might want to stay away from. The only thing that makes me give this show three stars is my sometimey ability to look on the bright side. Looking on the bright side of 7th Heaven I see that somehow the stories of 7th Heaven are not boring like in most family shows of the past. 7th Heaven is more able than other Family Dramas like it to draw you to the TV. And also because of it's pretty and most of the time sunlit background, 7th Heaven is never dark and glommy. But it makes me wonder how can a show like 7th Heaven with so many quirks fit in with the new casual WB with shows that are not as ripe or clean as 7th Heaven but are more updated and polished? 7th Heaven is one of the few far cleaner shows on TV today but it is not as clean as some people think. In almost every episode you hear the family talking about sex every moment. The people who work on 7th Heaven need to get back on the right track or else their ratings are going to be lower than they are now. But I still doubt that I will watch the show in it's 10th season. Update:I failed to watch the tenth season of 7th Heaven however I did hear that the at the time thought to be final episodes were LOUSY! I am glad I did't watch. And I know that alot of the fans of Everwood are praying that Everwood will be renewed on the new CW Network and if it is not they will not watch 7th Heaven or the CW. Well to all you Everwood fans..I heard and seen that Everwood will not renewed on the CW Network. Go to Wikipedia online encylopedia and look up Everwood and you can see it there. I have heard alot of people say that they will not watch the CW or 7th Heaven in it's eleveth season...well I am one of those people ha!

As the years have gone by and the characters/actors got older, they got more and more annoying. I didn't watch this show when it first came out but I saw re-runs and I enjoy the older episodes. The stories are better and it didn't seem like they were trying to boost ratings, it seemed more like they were actually trying to talk about issues. Recently, though, they seemed more concern with creating drama which made a lot of loyal viewers change the channel. I did always like that even though it was a religious show they weren't constantly stuffing sermons down the throats of the viewers, they just taught good life lessons.
worldcitizen18 44 12/23/2005
I love this show!!! It is entertaining AND wholesome. This is what TV should be about. Why reflect the worst of society? That only leads to any ever-lowering standard. This show offers people positive ways to solve situations. No, I'm NOT one of the Christian Right, so they are not the only ones who appreciate wholesomeness. I think The Waltons was the best show EVER on television.
OutsideBlitz 11/24/2005
There was a time when this show just barely started to take off, after about three or four seasons, but quickly became a series that could have been shelved. They added way to many characters and non-essential cast members.
wantgoodtv 11/13/2005
Have any of the producers even tried to find talented actors or writers? Can't believe the horrible storylines and acting. When have you ever seen children act the way those 2 twin boys do? Answering questions together, always just standing there ready to say something at the same time and then walking out of the room hand in hand. Incredibly stupid. What parent would allow their teen daughter to be so rude and insulting to them? Those parents just shrug their shoulders like idiots whenever that girl has one of her rants. The stories are meaningless, the actors just seem to be spitting out nonsense to fill up the hour of TV time. Why bother putting this show together at all? You should all be so embarrassed to have your names attached to it.

I love the show its like real life
rebelde406fan 10/19/2005
Have i would've posted my feelings of 7th Heaven a couple of years ago, i would've said great show. Now the show is boring and is way too exaggerating. I can't stand Martin's character and if i thought that the ninth season was bad, well the tenth is worse. Ruthie is bordering on the most annoying and conceited person on the face of this Earth. Simon and his fiance make me want to kick them and Lucy deserves to thrown off a 200 story building. The only people in this show who i didn't find annoying were Matt and Mary. Matt always made me laugh and Mary whatever she did, was still likeable. But now this show is going nowhere and taking its goddamn time doing it. This show should've been over three seasons ago.

UPDATE: On 12-7-02, I had given this program 5 stars, because it was a show with actual morals, and a family show that was actually fun to watch. Upon viewing the 10th season premiere, I was not at all impressed. The morals are practically gone, they're beginning to glorify in sex a little too much for my taste, and the stories are a jumbled mess. That's the type of program 7th Heaven is becoming, and I think I'll pass on watching any more of the new episodes. The old episodes were always marvelous; with a great family feel like "The Waltons". Then, it turned into a little bit of a soap opera (which was fine, but there were still morals). Now, it's not at all the same as when it first debuted. It seems that a program has to turn into complete trash to keep their ratings high. I'd say that's pathetic. I hope that doesn't happen to "Reba". ORIGINAL COMMENT: There are not many good shows on television this day and age. Being a Christian, there are only a handful of the current programs that I watch; 7th Heaven is one of them. This is about a minister and his family going through very normal problems. There is a lot of conflict; that's part of the beauty. No, the Camdens are not perfect like one would expect them to be. A lot of people tend to think that just because one is a minister, it makes him an immortal superhuman, exempt from making mistakes. I believe that the all-around, universal message of this series is this: that even a pastor's family isn't perfect, but he tries his best to raise them right, and do what's best for them. This is a great show for the whole family, although I must admit that it's taken on a soap opera style. It's a G-rated "soap opera", nevertheless. There is no bad language or bloody violence in this show; there is no need for it. I personally like it. I hope it stays on for a few more years. It probably won't, but then again, I'll have to let go, won't I?! Besides, there will always be reruns.
Homercat 09/23/2005
HomerCat Used to be a good show. But now the Parents preach and the kids do whatever they want.

love the show david is so hot
Kickbot 07/31/2005
In the beginning it was mediocre. Now it's one of the worst shows on TV. The only messages this show ever tries to convey are Single women are evil! Don't have premarital sex! Mary is a heartless wench! Not only is that bad story telling, but questionable, baseless morals. You think God or the Bible would be mentioned more in a Christian household with a minister as the head. Yet the only time I recall His name being mentioned was when Simon made a freaking sex pact with Him! And even with the bad writing, bad acting (Mac Rosman, emote!), bad lighting, bad morals, it's boring. All the potentially interesting moments (Vincent dumping Ruthie, Simon dumping his one-episode girlfriends, Mary filing for divorce) occur offscreen. The constant destruction of Mary was almost offensive. Since Jessica Biel wanted to be off the show, Brenda Hampton and co. should've either killed Mary off or only made passing references to her. But for all that happened to her to have not only happened, but without the actresses's presence to cause some emotional impact makes the whole thing come across as a petty grudge against Jessica Biel. And honestly, for a show that constantly berates premarital sex (which would be prefectly fine if backed up), why does it portray so many shotgun weddings? And why did it gloss over the fact that the eldest son Matt only got married to have sex?
shanna 06/23/2005
Unbelievable boring.
Thetruthabouth eaven 04/29/2005
The People who make 7th Heaven follow fads. The style of stoping your kids from doing crazy things has been in play for a couple of years. And the the people who make the show were late going after that fad. Now they are trying to catch up with that style. Some episodes make it seem like teens or young adults will live a bad life or feel bad if they live a free life without their parents. That is not the truth many adult teens or young adults live a free life and nothing bad comes of it. And also parents have to let go of their kids. When your kids have their own apartment and their own car and their own money it does not matter if they are just 18 when they have these things it is still time for the parents to let go. And some parents(like Annie Camden on 7th Heaven)may say that they will never stop loving their kids and that is right but parents have to soften their grip(if you don't the kids will just rebel). I just think 7th heaven is the wrong show for me and it might be the wrong show for you. They need to do away with matt the oldest camden sibling(he is acting like a 200 year old person). I think People who talk and make the same thing as 7th Heaven are trashy. I give this show only two stars because it is fake and hard to belive. I will no longer watch 7th Heaven. NOTE: I am not trying to cause touble with these words I am just telling the truth about 7th Heaven and telling how I felt when I watched it and how you may feel if you watch it THANK YOU.
CherrySoda99 04/01/2005
Probably one of the best...no it is the best family show on TV now. It never gets old. Matt is the perfect, hott big brother, Mary was the sarcastic big sister, Lucy was the boy-crazy, now mature young lady, Simon is the funny man of the house, and Ruthie is the cute, little sister.
A fan 03/03/2005
It's good. But they talk to much about sex and I stop listening. I mean it's way better than the other WB shows and I watch it almost every week, but most teens are going to have sex no matter what you do. If they don't stop with the sex talk I'm going to click the remote.
baseballfan44 01/15/2005
I love this show! What more is there to say?
mystic mango 01/06/2005
This show sucks. It's a goody-two shoes family complete with parents that have serious issues and two bratty, immature teenage whores. Simon needs to stop being a nerd and Ruthie should be drowned or something. Those twins are more like robots then little boys, they don't cry or throw tantrums or even raise their voices! I mean, what's up with that? And Happy the dog should be shot.
brayden 12/01/2004
this would have been 5 stars if it wouldnt talk about stuff kids dont need to hear WELL IVE GOTTEN TO NOT HATE IT AS MUCH

this show would've got 3 stars from me if they had taken it off the air 5yrs ago............gosh, how many characters are there??? this show is so lame......watch out for next wk.....i hear ruthie is going to try marijuana for the first time and simon is going to lose in a monopoly tournament

This show has found a wonderful mixture of comedy and drama that is full of all different kinds of lessons on life and their challenges to us as an individual and as a family. GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actress33kCome dy 09/05/2004
First Season, I was LIKING it, now, it's just nauziating. I really don't care what happens to Mary (the idiot teenager with no life but to find a guy and live happily ever after) and Lucy (the annoying permanent pms girl) and they're stupid little guy incodents. The only thing I get out of this show, besides a headache, is a lesson about god, which is always good.
Blooeyz2001 08/07/2004
What an atrocious show! The Camden home has become a boarding house for nitwits, noodle heads, & dimbulbs. The way they are all in each other's business is unbelievably bad. The dad's a teary eyed yenta putting his nose everywhere it does not belong. The mom's got a bad haircut, a lazy eye, & severe PMS in some episodes & sugary sweet in others. Those twins should have been aborted. Ruthie needs a good slap. She controls her parents, which is very disturbing. She doles out wisdom beyond her years which is a colossal crock of shi#! Lucy (named after the devil himself Lucifer) is extremely annoying. She has not grown into a young woman but regressed into a grating whelp with the personlity of a 5 year old spoiled brat. This ugly girl with that awful personality could have never landed that hunk of a husband in real life. Ashlee Simpson added nothing with her stone face & deadpan delivery. It's time to cancel this swill.

I love 7th Heaven!!!! It has great acting and has awesome messages. It all in all is just my favorite show ever!!
Blanco~Nino 07/09/2004
&th heaven is a refreshing break from the happy ending brady bunch like shows that commonly were on before this first aired in 1996. You could relate to what happened in the show, and with such a big family, just about everyone found someone on the show that they could relate to. It is thanks to this show that other good shows like boston public exist today.
maersk 06/19/2004
this show is CRAP!!!!!!!! really really bad family show (family shows usually are the definition of crap) this show makes full house look like f**king masterpeice theater, that annoying ashlee simpson (jessica's lil sis, read: dumb b*tch jr) by herself makes this already pathetic show worthless. fitting that this should be on the WB, home of the sh*ttiest shows ever made.
curlygirlly 04/25/2004
This is the most coolest show on earth. it is WAY better than watching other shows on tv. i mean this is like the most realistic tv show ever. this is how real people can make it seem like anyway. and by the way to people whohate the show you guys r so lame! i would rather watch 7th Heaven instead of watching MVT's show jackass
freebird_0128 04/17/2004
As most of you have probably noticed, I'm a big fan of sap. I willingly admit to liking sugary TV programs and film. 7th Heaven, however, is so saccharine that it makes me want to heave. Incredibly boring and recycled storylines added to unbelievable characters leave nothing to be redeemed. Not only is it vapid but it always walks that moralistic, preachy border that annoys me. Stephen Collins is the only person who can act a shred on the show. The only positive attribute of this show is that it is simple, clean entertaining for adolescents.
serenitymoon 03/25/2004
Jessica Biel tried to get out of her contract by being nearly naked in Gear magazine. Barry Watson is still in recovery because he had Hodgkin's Disease(a type of cancer) and I don't remember seeing anything about David Gallagher leaving the show. Y'all are right about Beverly Mitchell's character, Lucy, she is whiny. Jessica Biel has been in a few movie flops (Summer Catch, Rules of Attraction[with James van der Beek]and I'll Be Home for Christmas[with former beau Adam LaVorgna]) I happen to like watching 7th Heaven when I get the chance(i have school) This may be the Brady Bunch of the 00's but it's better than some of the other shows on TV.
LadyShark4534 02/27/2004
This show is incessantly stupid. Let's see.....We have the caring Reverend Father who makes a huge deal out of the tiniest itty bitty crises or always has a crisis going on himself. We have his wife who has at least has some brains in the family. We have the oldest daughter who is the world's hugest whiner. We have the oldest son who's just boring. We have the middle daughter who's a slight crybaby. Then you have the youngest daughter who is rude, ugly, and annoying. Then we have the youngest son who is just braindead. And the dog........Well, Let's just say the dog is the best character of this mix!
Cage_rules 02/25/2004
Absolutely dreadful....Where do I start? Quite possibly the corniest and most unrealistic show in television history. It is mind boggling on how this show is still on the air. The parents are extremely nosey and constantly gossip. Half the original kids have been replaced. The character Ruthie along with her boyfriend peter are horrid. What 13 year olds say... ok lets go do homework all night? None that I know! Thats only the start of it. They gossip constantly and get involved in the adult issues. Wheres the reality here people? Kids fight, kids get into trouble, kids whine, kids bicker, kids DONT play grown up. And the twins on this show are just terrible. I have never seen such well behaved twins in my life! They look like they are autistic. What is this show representing? Surely not your typical american or christian family. Please gimme a break. The one star I gave it was generous. Please cancel this show.
Redoedo 01/04/2004
Although I think the show has gone on for too long, I must say that this is probably one of my favorite shows. While some may find this show cheesy or preachy, I disagree. If you want to see a cheesy or preachy show, go watch an episode of Full House. Unlike Full House, 7th Heaven approaches the situations and issues that face American families in a realistic fashion. Some elements of the show may be contrived or unrealistic on the surface, but the ISSUES that are presented in 7th Heaven, espescially in the first four years of the show, are very real. Drug use, alcohol abuse, family conflict, and many other issues are covered on this show. Perhaps one of my favorite episodes is the one where Simon meets a Holocaust survivor, and asks her to speak in front of his class after a fellow student says that his father told him that the Holocaust never happened. That episode was very moving, and it was a quite realistic approach to a very important issue, as there actually are people in this country that believe that the Holocaust never happened. This is just one example of the many important issues that this show addresses. No family is perfect, and if you actually WATCH the show regularly, you will see that the Camdens are far from perfect as well. However, they are a family that work together and love one another. While the quality of the show has dwindled over the last two years, espescially with the departure of several castmembers. However, the show still is good. I am by no means a fanatical viewer of this show, but I believe that young people who watch this show will learn a valuable lesson about parenting and being a family. That means loving, supporting and caring for one another. Overall, 7th Heaven is a good show with above average acting, realistic approaches to important family and social issues and a core message that emphasizes family values and love.
kolby1973 12/25/2003
7th Heaven was great in the first 2 seasons, now it is getting lame and very silly. Not only does it NOT relate to life and everyday problems, it is very fake like any other TV show. But there is nothing wrong with the fake aspect, it is wrong for them to claim they do relate to life of normal people. There is no way the majority of Americans live their lives such as the Camdens...lol. Get real. UPDATE! I have watched a few episodes this new season, and the show is just horrible. It needs cancelled, and soon !
DarkNightChild e 11/12/2003

Trite and insultingly simpleminded. Absolutely nothing going for it.
President -X-D 10/17/2003
It boggles my mind that a preacher's family can be portrayed on TV as having a crew of slutty daughters and dopey sons. Sure would be nice if some of these children looked a LITTLE like their TV parents. Was the wife doing the mailman? What is up with the little dark-skinned girl with the curls? These kids act with no common sense at all while the daughters behave like tramps. What kind of Reverend allows this? That jerk sits around and looks like a deer in the headlights while his clan runs amok. No WAY a true Reverend would allow this behavior for five seconds. Yet another barely disguised corruption of Christian beliefs thanks to television. PAX should be smarter than to play these reruns.
