I watch this show all the time and love it! Thanks to the weekend marathons I can always get my fix during my downtime.The actors are so good that sometimes it's hard to believe this is fiction!

SVU is, in my opinion, the best of the Law & Order Series.  Each episode pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you watching until the end.  I've watched Law & Order and Law & Order:  Criminal Intent, but once in a while find myself getting easily distracted as the storyline just doesn't hold my interest.  All the the characters on SVU are very strong and seem to meld well together.  The differences in their life experiences bring different ideas to the table when trying to solve a case and make them a very well-rounded team.  Here's hoping that this great show has the staying power of its parent program!

I wish they would bring back Alex. The ending of the season finally has got me worried a bit, I must admit.

It keeps improving on itself for the most part

I'd say, of all of the L&O series', this one has the best cast. As for the content, the plot is great and the actors pull off each episode perfectly. The dynamics between the main detectives is interesting and the intensity keeps viewers intrigued and glued to the tv.

This used to be one of my favorite shows until they started to politicize everything with a far-left slant this season. Apparently, they don't care that they are insulting at least half of their audience. Anything conservative is presented in a very negative way. They don't even seem to care any more about the supposed premise of the show: investigating sexually based crimes. There is rarely even an element of that original intent of the show now. If I want to hear someone preach propaganda, I'll tune into C-SPAN or attend a political debate. I tune into TV shows to be entertained, not indoctrinated. I predict this show will quickly go down the tubes if they continue to politicize it, and that is as it should be.

I'm not a big fan of the Law and Order Series, but SVU is more entertaining than the others. I like the actors who play the detectives and think they do a good job most of the time.

I really like this show and is my favorite of all the L&O series. I think it's got a strong cast, I have to admit I wasn't really sure when Ice-T was joining the cast, but I really like his character and the way he plays it. While I like the two main charcters, Benson and Stabler I would like to see more of the other detectives working the cases, then it would get 5 stars from me. One other thing missing, in the beginning they showed more and talked more about their home lives, I do miss that.

I was never a fan of the Law an Order shows but I started watching SVU on USA and I am hooked. Not for the faint of heart but a great show with very good writing and a wonderful cast.

This is a great show. I love the story lines, they are different than on your usual cop shows and the acting is great too. Allthough, I do think it gets a bit hokey with all the personal story lines. I'm glad they have gotten back to the crime story lines, they make better shows. Christopher Meloni is pretty hot too!

I love this show and i think that everyone should watch it. The plots of the episodes are always full of action and always leave you at the edge of your seat for the entire episode. This is the only Law and Order series i have watched and i love it.

Hargitay and Meloni are adorable, the formula still works, I never tire of Law & Order!!

May I suggest: Law and Order: Cat Rescue Unit, and Law and Order: Roseanne Barr and Rosie O'Donnell Unit? Enough already!

Every L & O show and spinoff, has been smugly racist against Whites , and this one is no exception .Any show with both Richard Belzer AND Ice t , as well as the fact that it's been created anmd produced by Dick Wolf, is going to off-the-scale biased against Whites ; every White who's not ashamed to be White?EVIL!PSYCHO!DEMENTED!!INSTANTLY GUILTY!!Every White female that isn't liberal?A BITCH!!!!And the show takes satanic glee in tearing them down , and totally destroying them , especially women. And,of course , every black character who spews anti-White ,hate propaganda garbage , is allowed to smugly strut and stroll sround , preening his ass off , and never be shown as evil and destructive as they really are , which is why ice t's racist thug is always allowed to be right . I'd say they have a huge collection of racist fantasy writers there - only on TV , or the movies . Every White liberal must watch this garbage - that's the only way I can think of , that it would still be going , after 15 years. PULL THE PLUG!!!!

Kudos to SVU for airiing the episode- DOWNLOW. This is becoming an area of concern in the Black community. This is the only show that I know of that has addressed this issue in Primetime. Thank You.

A sad dose of reality.

I love this show, I think it probably helped a lot of people. But I think it's time the viewers see some more of the detectives personal lives, after all it's been a few years, how the hell are they handling all the crap?

While the first year of Law and Order (1990) was the best, L&O Special Victims Unit is still really good. Instead of getting to see the handsome face of Chris Noth every week, we get to see the very good-looking Christopher Meloni. Chris Meloni is such a great actor, and he really makes S.V.U. a good show with his tremendous talent. He makes a really good detective, starring as the character Detective Elliot Stabler. He is man that anyone could bring home to Mom and Dad. I always look forward to seeing his cute face. I would have given this show a 5 if it wasn't for that Mariska Hargitay. I don't know if she always looks that angry in real life, but her character, Detective Olivia Benson is always angry looking and she just doesn't seem to have that much talent as an actress either. They really need to replace her character with someone that has better chemistry with Chris Meloni. It would be really awesome if they would bring Chris Noth back to the show once Sex and the City is over with...overall I would have to say that Law and Order, S.V.U. is an above average show that I recommend to most people. It isn't really a kid's show, but a must see for adults if you like cop shows...

It is honestly the best show ever. I am completely hooked. The acting is soooo good, and small amoung of humor thrown in there at various points is perfect. I'm addicted. Not to mention the fact that I LOVE CHRIS MELONI. ahh he is soo sexy! I can't get enough. Such an awesome show!

My favorite show on tv!

Although dark at times and sometimes saddled with the occasional profanity, Law & Order: Special Victims unit is a well-done mystery show, and the best of the Law & Order spinoffs thusfar. The cast is great from the deadpan Munch (from Homicide), to the intelligent shrink and the two investigators. The plots can vary wildly from week to week, and there isn't much continunity (as opposed to Star Trek, for instance), but the show is still very good. Recommended.

Good actors and most of the storylines hold up well.

Munch and Fin make the show for me. I wouldn't watch it without them. Belzer's Munch is just perfect for this show, and Ice's Fin is definitely the perfect partner for Munch. After all these Munch years, they finally arrived at the right combination to contrast Munch to best effect.

Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni are excellent leads. Would like to see some episodes where Chris Meloni is stripped to his underwear though. Perhaps go undercover in prison.

This Law & Order show touches more on the detective's private lives than the other shows. Sometimes that's good sometimes that's bad. It's nice to know a little more "behind the scenes" . Why a particular character maybe in a grumpy mood, i.e. something's going on at home. Det Benson shows her feminine side as well as her tough side. The storylines are very intriguing. Hard to believe that situations like these occur in real life, but unfortunately they do.
