I would give it a 5 but it wasn't a 90's show. It was in the 2000's

UPDATE-There was a great line on INVASION last week by Eddie Cibrian when someone left a baby at his ranger station in the Everglades he said, "They must think I'm a firefighter." Great line! I hope you are all watching the show. He's the reason I watch. It's a good show. Not great but good. It started slow but it's getting better. I thoroughly enjoyed this show from beginning to end. I was devastated when it ended. I watch it every Friday on A&E at 2PM. It's the only time you get to see unless they put it on DVD, which hasn't happened. It never fails, the real true-life reality shows, they cancel but the stupid reality crap, they leave on. So the show didn't actually mirror what went on in NY (I was an FDNY dispatcher) but it was close enough. I really hated when they took the fire part of the show almost totally out of the show. I almost stopped watching it. But I kept watching. I cry every time I watch the 9/11 episodes and just about every time a firefighter dies on the show. Watching Alex Taylor getting cut in half and Lt Johnson and Joe Lombardo getting burned is hard to watch. The problem now is that I wish A&E would put it back on the way it was before, on a daily basis, not 4 times on 1 day. Sometimes I forget and dont set up the VCR and I miss it. Thats why we need you all to sign the petition and write Warner Bros so we can get Third Watch on DVD so we dont have to depend on A&E so we can watch Third Watch when we want to watch it. One of the best shows on TV.

Wonderful characters, exciting stories, but the last couple of years the EMT's stories got phased out and they focused almost entirely on the police folks. The police folks were always a bit more interesting, but it was nice to see the contrasts and interactions between these two groups.

The best show in the history of tv. No other will ever compare. Great story lines and superb actors. I laugh and even cry with them. They seem like they are a part of my family. I was devastated when I heard the show was canceled. What a stupid mistake! I can only hope one day that each season will come out on dvd. Then it won't be a total loss after all.

A good show with real-to-life dramatic situations. Sometimes they come close to crossing lines of what is supposedly acceptable on TV. I like the blend of fire, police and EMS showcasing interaction between the different services.

Is it just me, or does this show seem to have hit a bump? I absolutely loved this show up until January 2005 rolled around. Jason Wiles is leaving the show and last week...what the heck was last week? They spent maybe 10 minutes on the regular characters; isn't that what the show is supposed to be about? Lately the writers appear to be struggling in coming up with a tantalizing story line.

It is the 2nd fastest hour just behind ER. Which is still thebomb after nearly 12 years - all shows should want to be in the top 10 for that many years. Why TW never gets mentioned in ratings or reviews or the actors never get recognized is beyond me! There is more real TV in these episodes than all of those other real cra* shows.......do I really care if PH and NR are 2 of the dumbest blondes on earth and a case for concentration camp skinny?? Why is that acceptable when after the war everyone was appalled at concentration camp skinny. Can't wait for reality tv to burn itself out - poooof!

This is another hard hitting and at times funny tv show that has managed to mix drama with some humour.

I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS SHOW...I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY IT NEVER GETS NOMMINATED FOR ANY AWARDS. THE STORY LINES AND ACTORS ARE AMAZING.

Third watch is a great show. Every character is great. They have the odd boring show here and there where it drags on, but hey..what can you do? Can't wait for the reason finale.

This is the best show on prime time!! The writing is outstanding, the actors are awesome!! (I'm in law enforcement and an actor & hope to be on the show as a cop one day!) It has something for both men & women to enjoy, like the realistic hardships of maintaining a family/home while working the job (including childcare, etc.), and the show keeps geting btter & better with every episode!! (if that's possible)I'm hoping that this show stays on for a while so that we fans can enjoy it for as long as possible!! No other show comes close to captivating an audience as well as Third Watch does!! Actors! Writers! Producers!! Directors!! Keep up the wonderful, spectacular work you're doing!! We love it!! One of my favorites, I absolutely love it! great acting, great storylines!

This show is an excellent creation. Cover three emergency works in NY. Firefighers, cops,Paramedics. All those we honour after 9/11. They are realistic and offers drama and fast paced action sequences. It's like a mini movie each week. From the maker of ER. You could only wish That John Wells made all programmes on tv and we'd all be walking round bursting with creativity.

Third Watch is one of the greatest shows on tv. I do believt that Third Watch is o the level with Law and Order, and many of the great tv police shows of the sixties, and early seventies. They have a great cast that do an outsatanding job in playing their roles.

GREAT SHOW! I think it will be nominated for, and win many awards like other series such as Hill Street Blues, and In the Heat of the Night, ER, etc. I hope the excellant cast stays with it, and the writing continues to be excellant as well. Want to see more! BIG FAN! JOSEPH JRLJR

A good character driven show about cops, firemen and paramedics who work the 3pm to 11pm or third watch shift in New York City. Each character is important and unique and brings something to the story. Some episodes will focus on one character while others will feature all or most of the cast. The show has good drama, angst, conflict and action.

This show has it all-- great storyline.. great plots.. great chemistry between characters... and realistic characters that are not only 3 dimentional, but make you feel like you know them.

I was a huge fan of the show up until the new season started. Last year was a little hard to take with Cruz on the show. At the end of last season it left you with the impression that she would be gone this year. I was very dissapointed to see that she is still on there. Everyone I know has the same feeling that I do. I think the ratings would go back up and it would hopefully move back to Monday's again if she were gone.

It is the best TV drama around that i've seen. It mixes emotion, action, love, and intellegence all into one show. With great actors and actresses, it a show u cant miss.

i think Third Watch is great. it's my favorite show and i've been watching it for about 2 years now. I encourage others to watch it too.

Being in various security firms & holding "police powers", I have a "somewhat" feeling of what's it like to be "involved" in situations. I've also taken a course our the Fire Dept.(civilian) for "support" on-scene. The course was held at the training cntr. for "probies". I've used this skill on numerous times. My latest "venture" has taken an EMT course at a University (Entry Level), so I think that I've covered, probably all the angles, that's involved in public service-but only on a civilian level tho. When 9/11 happened, it really had taken a toll on me, knowning the impact of what had happened to all the Dept's involved, with nightmares happening all the time. When the episodes of 9/11 were shown on "Third Watch", they had gotten to me really bad. They were hard to watch, but I felt that I had to. I'm sure that w/ all the Dept's in N.Y., they still have "problems" of the situation, not just on the anniv., but w/ everyday life & I'd to reply that I'm w/ you and will always be. Hang in there and know that there are still people out there, thinking of you "people" As far as the show goes, its better than All the Law & Orders put together, and could ever be. A good solid show, with a great cast. I'm glad NBC is sticking with it. I loved the way they handled the whole 9/11 incident. Great Drama.

This show has really evolved since it first aired, the storylines have now really become in-depth and interesting. I was sad to see Bobby go...that was the last thing I expected.

Excellent show. Very well done and realistic. My husband is a police officer, firefighter and EMT.....and he absolutely loves it. He also teaches Protective Services to HS students...and tapes the show every week to go over in class.

I absolutely love it. It has everything. Action, Drama, sadness, happiness, and the icky love plots. The love plots are mainly between Kim and Jimmy.

This is my FAVORITE show!!! I want to go into Law Enforcement and this show is the only one that shows police (fire and medics) on partol- all the other shows are after the fact and 3rd watch pays tribute to all those out there everyday. I can say so much about this show! Bosco is GREAT so is Faith- I just- LOVE their partnership! Davis is great too, Carlos cracks me up, and I HATE Cruz. this show is amazing! i rode with police officers for a grad project and i worked with them for a couple hours during the third shift (3-11) and i have to say that this is the most realistic show ive ever seen. the storylines and characters are genius and everything is fun to watch. i never miss and episode and i even watch on a&e if im not too tired at night. i feel like i know the characters and i love watching thier growth. from Carlos finally growing up and acting like an adult to watching kim overcome her problems and trying to deal with life without bobby. i love joey i thnk he is the cutest little kid on any show.i cried when bobby died and i cried when i watch ty see alex lying lifeless on the ground while Carlos kneeled beside her and assured her everything was going to be ok. the show deserves far more credit and recognition than it is given. i hope that next season will bring nominations and more ratings!! i know itll bring many more amazing storylines!
