not as into it like i used to be but i really got into the CHICAGO, BACK TO NEW YORK, VEGAS, AND NEW ORLEANS seasons. its still fun to watch though

The one that started it all, and one that is still going strong, without the need for eliminations and gimmicks.

It is an important show. It opened a lot of doors for reality tv. I never watched it because I did not grow up in the US, but the last few season I saw were not that great. But I hear the first ones were pretty good.

Lost interest in this one after Hawai it's all about either the bitch or the ass hole. They have to have at least on token homosexual. They have lost sight of what the show was all about. Best cast was London then L.A.

Even though there have been reality tv shows for a long time...they just weren't ever really called that until this show debuted. This is the original show that started the whole trend. And it was a really good show at that. MTV was obviously way ahead of its time with this show.....it has started a trend that is now completely out of control as only 1 in 10 reality shows are even worth watching...

I love the Real World! it is so fun to watch! Sometimes the drama gets a little irrataing, but I love it. Keep up the good work. You need to have a Real World St. Louis!!!!

The Real World it is so called! Well, we know that they don't pay their rent or anything like that. I must say that it is truly no longer a documentary. It is now truly a soap Opera. Of course it always has been to an extent. But I think the Best season was Boston! Because we learned so much about different issues and we saw as it seemed like people going through real Problems. We saw Genesis and her sturggle with her Mom and other issues! We see Sean learn about Black people from Syrus, and you see him truly understand their culture to some extent, or get a better picture of what Black people go through. We see Jason view certain things about life and really realize what is going on in his life, and learn alot about him. Montana we see go through problems with men. She was my least favorite of the show, I didn't like the way she did VAJ, but as Sean once said on the show She needs attention from men even if it destory's her life. We see when the cast goes to Portrico Montana talk about why she is the way she is with men, because she never had a Father or figure growing up. Next we have Elka who learned alot about ceertain things of the World. Although she said she followed the Bible and had it in her life, but it seems as if she was really rebelling what her Parents taught her growing up, it doesn't seem like she was really producing in her life what the Bible teaches in areas to produce Fruits of the Spirit. Sean even said during the season when him and Montana were playing Pool, that Elka does things that draw her way outside the lines of what she is saying she is as a person. Even Kamelleha confronted her about it as well. Kamellaha was all right, I liked her better on the RW/RR Challenge because it seemed she had matured a alot. I understand that during her time in Boston that she didn't want to be a teacher to Sean, and talk about Blackness, but it would have been cool if they would have gotten along better and she would have taught him at least somethings, of course I am sure that she did, because we didn't get too see on TV everything that happened in Boston. People say that this was one of the worst seasons because there were not many fights, and I understand as America being the Society it is that they like to see fights on TV shows and stuff. But I really like the RW Boston because of the lack of fighting, and at the beginning of the season it seemed as if most of the cast got along, I just wish the group could have been closer and not so much as having clicks. The only one I truly didn't like on the show was Montana. But I think we learned about important issues and sturggles with this cast, and we didn't see that as much in other casts. I feel that this Cast was realy honest and shared deep struggles, not just for the TV but also with each other. Even though there were other things in the season that I didn't like and to a huge extent I wouldn't try to mock any of the casts charecter or try to be like them. All in All I give the Boston season a 5 out of 5. Ever since the Seattle season I haven't really enjoyed the Real World and this is why I give the Real World a 1 rating as a whole. It seemed like the last decent Real World (Maybe to an extent) was New Orleans. But now it just seems like they go for the pretty people and people who like to drink and party and people who are not truly real. Who really want to talk about life issues. Maybe the Real World now just wants to attrack people who party and do all of that in college and so on. Another note, I don't know how much of the Real World is scripted? I am sure that some of it is though, but I am not saying all of it is. Sometimes you are just watching the show and you wonder. Of course I haven't and don't watch the Real World any more because of what it is like today, and I would just be waisting my time if I did watch it. The only time I like to watch it is to see if on the RW/RR challenges if any one from Boston or Seattle is on them, but if there isn't then I won't watch them. Gosh I have said alot, and believe I will end it here. To those who are die hard Real World Fans and haven't seen the Boston Season yet? Then please watch it, I think you will really enjoy it and see that these people really gave us a little look into their lives and they were just real honest and real people. This is all I have to say.

The reason for the decline and fall of MTV.

MTV only chooses subjects who can create a sexual tension. It's all about voyeurism and ratings, showing young people in sexy situations or (they hope) wearing little or nothing. I'm not against sex by any means, but by now the participants know how they are expected to act, and they hope to parlay this into something else later. It's the farthest thing from reality when you KNOW cameras are watching. Personally, I'd like to see the MUSIC put back into MTV!!!!!

I loved this show when it came out, lately or every since Seattle it's been going downhill, I would give it a 5 but the latest cast (vegas) drove me crazy.. actually it should get lower than a 3, but I remember what it used to be and I have to up the score some.

How can they call this the Real World? Mtv takes a group of people and pays all of their expences. Where's the reality in that? The people are just as fake. It's obvious that they're putting on a show for the cameras. Why else would they act so out of control?

First, where's the reality in this show? My wife loves this tripe, and I can't understand why. Personally, I think whoever created the idea should be set on fire in public as a warning to the other media executives. Yeah!

Reality TV is like a pesky vine flower, slowly growing over the television, some like it and a few hate it. MTV is just a stupid station that targets the lowest-common denominator with its brand of moronic “entertainment.” In no show is this more obvious than in “The Real World.” Television should be a means of escapism, and there are a lot of good stations (such as on TV Land, Nick at Nite, ABC Family, Hallmark) that provide family-friendly grooviness. But, then, there are stations like NBC (except for the brilliant “Frasier”), E!, Comedy Central and VH-1 with no redeeming value. MTV is even worse than those last four stations and that is why I call it Many Terrifying Visions. The concept of this show is like one of hundreds of reality shows. A few people move together in an environment with a bad reputation (such as ‘Las Vegas’) The main characters abuse alcohol. We all know that alcohol abuse is senseless and highly illogical. You lose your self-control and are really committing delayed suicide. The same goes for drug abuse, just quicker and more symptoms and side effects. But, the main “thing” in The Real World, simply and succinctly, is sex. Let’s get one thing straight, MTV does not frown on this. They demand that their “contestants” wear condoms, but other than that, there is no sexual morality. The hot tub is a staple of the series and one of the roommates had sex with a stranger of the opposite sex. Even worse, it was implied the same man had a threesome in the same tub. This trivializes the intimate experience sex is supposed to be, and throws courtship and marriage out the window. And, in the sad decline of the great English language, there are at least 30 profanities per episode on average. I guess these airheads don’t realize that every one of their older relatives is probably fainting in shame.

Why the hell is crap on the air?? #1 The Real World does not consist of 12 lazy spoiled whiny brats who b*tch about everything. The Real World is about working and living your life. #2. Last time I checked MTV stood for "music television" but since half the sh*t on mtv has nothing to do with music anymore. we have to put up with sh*t like this. I wonder when MTV will air a Pink Floyd video?

Love the concept: strangers put together to live under one roof, etc...But the seasons are only gonna be as good as the people they pick want to make it. Sure, even though it's reality based, the producers can tamper with their choices to some extent, but they have no way of knowing how the individual will respond. I think it was a entertainment risk that worked out wonderfully. And I like the way the characters sometimes get really bold in front of the camera. Of course we don't get to see the real personalities of all the characters cause you have to think, they know there is a camera there. Sometimes i think the attention seekers try to put on an exciting show, but anyway, this one rocks!

The first 8 or 9 Real Worlds were great. Many of them taught us very important lessons and exposed our generation to a wide spectrum of people who were both fascinating and inspiring. This is why I watched the Real World. Don't get me wrong, the fight between Tami and David in Season 2 was the best, however my point is that the new RWs SUCK! Where did MTV find these dull, boring and just plain STUPID people? I was so annoyed at that Trishslut girl while watching RW12 that I refuse to watch this or future episodes/seasons anymore. Its trash!!!!

This season sucks. The people are cliched and boring. Terrible casting. I've seen better in earlier seasons.

I know the Real World is awesome. People critize it badly,but they know the real world is KEWL.The houses are sweet. It's also cool how they pick seven different people to come and live together. And they are good actors and actresses. My favorite episode would have to be The Real World 10, New York. And my favorite people would have to be, Lori,Coral,and Melik. So, sure I think they should keep on with the Real Worlds. I'm watching the new one right now.

I just watched the first episode of the new Chicago Season. I love it. No freaks, just an interesting crew! I love KYLE. I was intrigued by the whole cast!

This show is definitely an original and I like it because it is. The "seven stranger" are always equally interesting in each season. I have to say my favorite was the Seattle Season. It had this sensitive, intellectual, cozy feel to it. I only hope the new season will do as well despite all the attention to those stupid reality game shows. Real World is the REAL SURVIVOR because its dramatical in-depth conflicts are derived from a simple and smart method.

I remember when The Real World was reall popular, but all shows on MTV are really bad. This show was extremly trashy and the people on it we're so horribly put into it, and they are so gross and disgusting, and they all want to have sex, and it's just disgusting.

I loved watching this in Chile, but I never thought of it as a show like "Survivor", "Big Brother" "The Mole", & the Norwegian "The Pub". Maybe because it's a MTV production, MTV is too entertaining for me to think of some of the shows as "Reality TV"...

Although this show shows how dumb people can be, I always find myself watching it when I flip through channels. Retards are fun to watch, I guess. THE REAL WORLD is not having all this money and this nice house. You wanna play REAL WORLD? Put them in the ghetto of Los Angeles and give them a gun.

I remember how critical people were when this show first came out, but really it was one of the most influential shows of the 1990s. The amazing thing is that, for all its faults (i.e., virtually all the people in the 'real world' aspire to be entertainers; the manufactured ethnic squabbles; etc.), the last couple seasons have been incredibly good. New Orleans was a real breakthrough b/c it showed how appealing the show could be even lacking a "train wreck" aspect (by that I mean, someone like Puck that was out to disrupt the house). Everyone on that season was appealing and interesting. Kudos, Real World!!

This show has no point to it whatsoever! The setup doesn't even make sence. Okay, so these people all get jobs and live in a really epxensive house and can have almost anything they need. "Real World" compared to what???
