I have no idea when I last watched this channel. The majority of the music I want to listen isn't played on here and the non-music shows that they put on here just seem a waste of time watching. I find it's much better to just listen to my own music collection, or to find new artists via Spotify instead.

MTV has had it's day, and that day is now long gone.

Its like watching an aging rocker that should have quit touring years ago.

Has MTV ever been good. Even back in the 1990's it kind of sucked. I liked Jane's addiction and that era of music but the channel killed everything it touched. Well at least it's destroying television programming now instead of music. Question, if MTV isn't responsible for the shitty music of today who is?

mtv sucks now and so does the reality shows and the little music you do show.

I wish I could give this network 0 stars but I can't. This network has totally went against it's name "Music Television". Hello, where in the hell is the music? All you see on it now are awful reality shows featuring a bunch of spoiled brat teenagers. What a bunch of sellouts. And MTV2 isn't any better. They need to bring back MTV-X (the short lived all rock/metal music network MTV created in the early 2000s) and Beavis and Butthead. Those were the best things MTV did.

Where did all the Music go? I can't stand watching The Hills and My Sweet Sixteen. There’s nothing but lame reality show. I miss the good old MTV days.

People can say what they want. MTV is still gonna...SUCK!!! They should start their own line of vacuum cleaners. I found MTV to be a really good thing to test your reflexes. Your gag reflexes.

I loved MTV growing up when they used to show something called a video. All of their programs were related to music including the game show "Remote Control." These days it is nothing but reality trash like "The Real World."

What happened to the "M" in MTV? MTV no longer seems like a Music Television station! The majority of the shows are risque reality shows, that are definately not appropriate for a large chunk of their viewers. If reality television is this generation's claim to fame, then they need to change their name to "RTV", so they can lead the way like they did in the 90's which it seems they're already doing in the first place. *Shudders at the thought of another reality show*

Where did the music go? You know, as in "Music Television"...?? I gave up on it years ago and now I've mostly forgotten that it exists. VH1 Classics, FUSE, and a few other channels have attempted to bring videos and music back to cable.

Those True Life shows are pretty good.

I used to watch it a lot more, but now there's almost nothing to do w/ music on MTV. It's Music Television! Change the name of the network if ur gonna show crap like that!

MTV as a whole is pretty worthless. So far the my ratings tally for the MTV compatability test are 7 one star ratings, and 1 two star rating. On to the next item.

I hardly watch it now...its geared more to the younger generation, but when it was brand spanking new in the early 80's I was the younger generation! Loved the silly VJ's and watching the astronaut with the MTV flag on the moon every hour on the hour! Oh, and the station revolutionized the 80's and the new age era!

MTV is responsible for the dead of Rock n Roll. It has taken over the world and made it OK for people to listen to that crap thay make.

Now when I was a kid MTV was great now they suck, what ever happend to 24hr video's now they hardly play any videos at all and if they do its mainly pop and rap crap. They need to change it to BSTV.

Maybe I'm not the most qualified to vote on what has become of this channel as, since the '90s, I've watched a total of some 10 hours COMBINED from this network. In the '80s (and into part of the '90s) this show was only about music. No crappy reality shows, no stupid cartoons or other shows. Just plain frickin' music videos. Since the '90s (and increasing EXPONENTIALLY year by year), this show has introduced a mind-boggling array of reality shows, cartoons and the such (which have nothing to do with music) and when the network DOES focus on music, it's almost always rap and hip hop of the most vile, obscene and uncensored nature imaginable. I've ATTEMPTED to watch this show a few times recently. I'm not the most righteous person alive but this show has become so amazingly sleazy and X and R-rated in recent years that Satan himself couldn't concoct worse schlock than what this network has turned into. The producers have said F*** you God and f*** all semblance of morality, in essence. Oh and now we have the homosexual MTV network. You think armageddon is around the corner? You think?

If I could give this a negative rating I would. This channel has done more to ruin music then help it. It made untalented half-wits Ashlee and Jessica simpson celebrities with those horrid shows. MTV has no redeeming qualities, ALL of their shows are unwatchable especially my super sweet 16,Laguna Beach, Next and TRL. We need a new music scene to kill MTV like grunge killed hair metal back in the day. The whole modern music scene needs a huge enema and hopefully MTV goes with it.

what happened to MTV? Wheres the music?!?? Now what do we have to watch, Laguna Beach and other pointless stupid shows? This is why I'm happy to be Canadian, and I have an option to watch Much Music, a channel with atleast SOME music.

If a channel ever was a threat to national security, it would be this one. I don't think the people behind this channel have any idea what damage it has done to American youth. There are some GREAT shows occasionally, like Punk'd, Sweet 16, Rich Girls, Cribs and Tom Green when it used to run, but most of the time, this channel is garbage. Except for Tom Green when it ran, the other shows were likeable, I suspect for the wrong reasons! I've seen the Canadian equivalent of MTV, what is it, Much Music, and it's definitely much more intelligent and fun to watch. MTV is just a representation of the worst, most negative aspects of American culture. No wonder other countries want to keep our garbage programming out!

I can't tell you how it use to be, but I was pretty excited to watch this show. Turns out, its crap music and crap videos, if they ever show videos. The rest of the time there are halfass shows that lack any quality what so ever.

Can someone please tell me why they still call the channel music television? They have about as much music on this channel, as about as much music you'll find on the food channel. Still a little bit better than vh1, but not much.
