I used to like it but now I don't watch it anymore...the format has changed and now it looks more like a magazine show

I'm watching it right now. They always have interesting stories. Although, lately, they have been repeating several of them................... lol a show where they talk about people with one arms raising 10 children, and different styles of dating, and how people spend their money and other personal stories about individuals is a bias show. What a joke. Again, because Fox News tells them so, in it's viewers eyes, it is the only thing that isn't bias and every single other news station is out to turn them into a liberal. lol

Ever since Barbara Walters did Donna Rice (ca. Gary Hart, just after WWI) I thought this show was the broadcast equivalent of toilet paper. Since then, I've come to think that I was too positive.

Nope ever since they dedicated a whole show to lie about Benny Hin.

John Stossel is one of the most fair and balanced reporters on the big three networks, but this show is the second worst overall.

Gimme a Break (0)
12/03/2003
Overall, 20/20 is an excellent program but I have a couple of major gripes: 1) On Gimme a Break this week, John Stossel EXPOSED the President's fraudulent turkey pardons, making it known that the turkeys pardoned by the President every year do NOT live out a wonderful life on a Virginia farm but, in actuality, usually only live a very short time after the President's pardon because they have been previously 'fattened' for the kill and are now extremely unhealthy and uncomfortable, as a result. To John Stossel, I would like to say, Thanks a lot for nothing! You're the kind of guy that likes to tell little kids there's no Santa Claus. What's important about the Presidential turkey pardon is the underlying message that it sends to all Americans. A message that says compassion, empathy and mercy are positive traits that we could all learn to express more freely. Thanks to you, I no longer connect this event with good feelings, but will instead, think of those poor, unfortunate, fat & unhealthy turkeys, and how their lives were cut short because of OUR need to eat them every Thanksgiving. Hey John? Thanks a LOT, for nothing! 2) Why does 20/20 think it's humorous to have Barbara Walters constantly insulting John Stossel? Personally, I don't think it's funny at all. I find it very annoying and unimpressively Holier than thou. Whether I like what John has to say or not, he is there to share his opinions and insights with us. Barbara frequently belittles and ridicules John and it's not attractive. It would go a long way if Barbara treated John with DIGNITY and RESPECT - as a fellow human being and even more so, as a co-worker and peer.

This was once an above-average news program, now it's nothing but fluff and celebrity interviews. The same "human interest" (FLUFF) story that your local news does in 3 minutes would take 20/20 two 15 minute segments. They spend an inordinate amount of time hassling businessmen and companies with their neverending stories about "defective" products and the like.

Very interesting news magazine with some of the best interviews I've ever seen. John Stossel's "Give Me a Break" segment may be sort of annoying at times, but they can still be interesting and most of the time amusing. This news program has great investions that lead right down to the truth, which makes 20/20 simply one of the best.

There is a ton of liberal bias, and the showing of progressive values in America is there stroy each night, from homosxuality to abortion(which they are for both), there is never a second side to the story. I am not a progressive person.

this program has 0% credibility with me. this abomination of a "news" is correctly being tossed out in favor of a drama starring sela ward. that show is horrible, too, by the way.

the show about Mtv new show Jack Ass was great, now I believe in the freedom of speech but when you take a chance with a childs life, then you lose, I had a horrifing thought of that happening to my child, you can not watch your children all the time, and I have watched the show Jack ass It was like a train wreck you can not take your eyes off of.I am a young adult I think It should be on pay-per-view where my children can not see it. Maybe during MTV's Diclaimer that holds them not liable for things done maybe they shold show the horror that little boy had to go thru. I really think this will make parents more aware that this could be there child watching this. Signed a concerened parent.

Barbra Walters is the queen of news, she always digs up the dirt, and does some great interviews and everything like that. Some of the subjects have been kind of goofy these days, because I personally don't want to hear about cloning of animals or homosexual groups in Alaska, but she still digs up the dirt well.

The liberal bias(except for John Stocle who is almost always on the mark) is striking at times. For instance, this last show (3/9/01) was typical of what one would expect from 20/20. The first piece was Barbara Walters praising gay men and women for "creating" through surrogacy and adoption families. I did not see the young children the two women were, nevertheless, If it was anything like the two men the same comment pertains. It was obvious to anyone watching these two young girls that they felt compelled to protect the only parents they knew. BUT, there was two very telling moments in this segment when Barbara asked the young girls I they missed having a mom. Only a person so blatantly agendized could have missed the expression of ambiguity and loss in those girls eyes. The following comment by these two girls was heart breaking. Sitting there they lamented the fact that they wish their surrogate mother could come live with them, a woman, I'll remind the views, that "visited" them ONCE A YEAR. Of course, these two upstanding men had the grandmotherly nieghbor visit often. I quess a mother is important, even if it's the women next store. I don't know how much room I have left so I'll be brief concerning the second story. It concerned a young lady who was a freshman at a H.S. where she and two of her freinds informed the authorities that several of their male freinds were talking about perpetrating another school shooting. The saddest part of this peice was when this young lady was asked whether she would do it again, her answer, "No." Her reasoning, she lost all her freinds and everybody thought she was a rat. I did not hear a word of praise, nor from Barbara, her parents, the school, or the young people she possibly saved as a result of her actions. What's worse, her motivation for finally telling the authorities of the boys plans, "well it was fine when they were taking about killing other kids; but, when they started saying they were going to kill me and my freinds I had to tell someone. So, when the boys talked about killing other school kids, they were "just kidding." But when it was her, it wasn't funny anymore. This is what our youth is learning today. And here we sit wondering why our kids see life as so meaningless. Nobody wants to take responsibility for the life they live. Loyalty, trustworthiness, honor, and for that matter, right and wrong are all outdated concepts society has essentially discarded as cumbersome. Freedom has been reduced to give me my rights, or else. AREN'T WE THE MORE ENLIGHTENED FOR IT.

News shows (like 20/20 and 60 minutes)are decent but the evening news in America overall (6pm) is pathetic. Not enough international events are covered. But even more pathetic are shows like Good Morning America and Today Show. No substance!
