Michael Jackson remains one of the first pioneers of short-film music videos. Considering the issues tha continue to surround him, music remains an area that he can continue to excel in. It is impossible to strip Michael Jackson of the contributions he made to MTV and the other music video outlets. MTV continues to make money off of him even though in the beginning the were reluctant to play his videos, this changed when the realized the money potential. MTV owes Michael Jackson BIG TIME!!!

Jackson's superb dancing maneuvers in concert with a gaggle of zombies was undeniably entertaining. Vincent Price certainly added some amusing commentary as well. My favorite part would be near the beginning when Michael tells his girlfriend I'm not like other guys.... Truer words were never spoken!

I might have at one time thought this video was the best ever done, and I try to separate the people from their art, I have a hard time accepting anything from this man.SORRY

A great example of life imitating art. Jackson is quickly becoming one of the ghoulish zombies shown in this video. What body part will fall off next?

Although I am not a fan of Jackson or his music this video deserves credit for innovation and raising the mark. It was almost a mini movie and gave other video makers the green light to be innovative and use their imagination. This was Jackson at his best; The music was good, the video was excellent and Jackson still looked like a normal human being, not counting the makeup done for the video. It's a shame that some of todays videos have taken innovation and turned it into trash because while not every video can be what Thriller was, it was something that bands and video producers could look up to and shoot for. Somewhere along the way the music industry lost sight of what made the Thriller video great and along the way we also lost Michael Jackson.

Made in 1983, 22 years later it's still clearly the greatest video of all time. I remember when MTV used to do their Top 100 or Top 500 videos of all time countdowns and this was #1 almost every time until they made a few other videos #1, obviously only to make the countdown more interesting and less predictable. But in reality they knew Thriller was the best.

I Love Michael Joseph Jackson soooooo much. He is a living unlegend I couldn't image going a day without thinking about him or listening to his music and watching his videos. He is the most talented person, dancer, singer, song writer in the world. He created music videos, and Thriller was breathtaking, he is the most well known person all around the world and fans love him like crazy, like me! The dancing, outfits, plots of all the videos of his are amazing, and Thriller is so great and long!! I love Michael Jackson always and Forever!

This video should be #1.....It is afterall the #1 best music video ever made! Michael Jackson was the imaginative creator in music video. I remember being very scared when I saw the video for the first time. It was neat to see a mini movie/music video. It just was a neat special treat for a music video. Now the guy who did the voice was creapy, VINCENT PRICE. Michael did a great job acting his part as a villian....

Too long, too silly, just plain too "too". In other words, perfect for its time and its star. The fact that I don't like the song aside, the religious disclaimer at the beginning just annoyed a star off of it.

Set the standard for the cinematic/story-video. Problem is that the music video is no longer the novelty it was at the time; there will likely be little effort to duplicate such an over-the-top effort in the years to come. Still a fun nine minutes, and Vincent Price is the icing on the cake.

Thriller defined a whole new era of video making. Back when music video's were consisted of watching bands play on an empty stage, Thriller gave us a creepy storyline mixed with great dancing. Whenever I have doubts to as to why I liked Michael Jackson I just refer back to his old stuff and it brings up some great memories. Had he died before the 90's hit people would have worshipped him like they do Elvis.

I'm not a big Michael Jackson fan, but this is a great video. Probably deserved of the rating it received as #1 all-time by VH1. The transformation of Jackson into a werewolf makes it a mini horror movie and its duration is about 13 minutes. The dancing is wonderful, it is basically a flawless video.

Okay, okay - I'm from the pre-MTV generation and I don't even watch VH1 very often. So, I probably have no right to even be nosing around in this category. But, this is an oldie and it was obviously a way above average video - then and now. Thriller had so much detail and depth (well, for a video) it was practically a movie short. Not to mention the costumes, makeup and FX were state of the art. Should be judged and rated in relation to its impact in its time period not compared to all the mega-techno developments of the last ten years. Jackson may be weird, but he knows how to do this stuff VERY well.

The 2nd best Micheal Jackson video ever made in history. Extremly well done, and visually well made. Nice dancing, a bit spooky too. The song was very fast paced and the video very high-budger for Jackson quailty.

Absolutely the best video ever made. I can't believe that this isn't number ONE on the list! Surely people don't think that Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" is BETTER than "Thriller"??? Michael Jackson might be a bit strange, but nothing can dispute the fact that he is a genius...with both his music AND his videos.

This video hasn't aged, besides the fact that the clothes Michael and Olivia wore are dated... But it's a fun video, the music has a great beat, and it even has a eerie feel to it with Vincent Price narrating. Should be shown every year at Halloween in my opinion!

Easily one of the best videos of all time. The song itself is throw-away pop, but the video makes it one of the most memorable TV moments of the 80's. A vivid memory for anyone of the MTV generation.

They turned a kick ass song into an awesome video. The choreography for the dance part is the best. The makeup jobs on Michael and the "beasts" were superior for the time. The acting in the beginning was corny but it added to the comedy.

I like this video because of the dancing. I still don't know how dead people wake up and know the dance steps. I think it's corny. I really think his makeup and cat eyes were really good. It was a creative video and his eyes were the first that I saw like that. It is a good video.

Thriller has to be one of the longest and most memorable videos of all time. The video tells a story and has parts in it where there is just acting and not music. Michael knows how to perform well.

Thriller was a step in the right direction in trying to keep music videos an art form, rather than an advertisement for music. The production costs were outrageous, but they produced a video that was very artistic, made a point, and was thoroughly entertaining. In my opinion, it's the best video of all time.

Thriller is the best all time music video because of the great make-up artistry. The video itself takes on a somewhat unsure like feeling which makes it unique among other music videos. In my opinion this music video started Michael Jackson's career.

I remember being in 8th grade, sleeping over a friends house and staying up until like Midnight or something to see the first showing of the Thriller video. I think it was on Friday Night Videos or something like that. At the time it seemed pretty incredible and is still a pretty fun little short but the best part was definitely Vincent Price, that guy had the creepiest voice going.
