 | babarox (0) 05/15/2005 | By me, one of the best vidéo ever made simply because, for the time, it was very ingenious, now, it`s much easier because of the computer. Very simple now to make something innovative and, yet, it seems now the conceptors don`t have much imagination: all they want to show is an artist who can sing and dance for five minutes or so. With that kind of video art, you`ll remember the steps, the wardrobe but not the song and that is not the goal...

 | JonTheMan (27) 04/02/2005 | Beautifully shot video, combining live action with spookily fluid pencil-drawn animation. The extreme overacting near the end of the video where the teary eyed girl watches the comic book man try to materialize into reality is hilarious.

 | Alexg681 (1) 01/27/2005 | Pretty good video, but I think it's overrated, and I don't really like the song.

 | Chalky Studebaker (4) 01/22/2005 | Nothing compares w/this video. The animation and storyline of people trapped in a comic book is kind of corny but in a great way. A definite classic!

 | callitdowntheline75 (53) 09/21/2004 | The greatest 1980s music video, A-Ha's 'Take On Me' was also the most innovative of this wonderful decade. Who would have thought of mixing comic-sketch drawings with a storyline that takes place in a cafe? The music video spurred hope for many hopeless romantics in that dreams can come true if you truly believe. It is too bad, however, that 'Take On Me' served as A-Ha's one great song/music video, rendering this group merely as a one-hit wonder. But what a memorable hit it was.

 | Lifelines (0) 03/12/2004 | This band is STILL going strong even after this video... next gig for the band is June 4th in Bergen, Norway. Seven studio albums later and most folks don't even know they still to this day produce great music (and videos)! Find out what they're up to... www.a-ha.com

 | Rufieo30us (0) 02/23/2004 | This is a very unique and speical kind of video to watch. A-ha deserves to be recognized with the MTV VIDEO of the year award with this song. For those who have not seen yet, this video is about a girl who reads a comic book and the comic comes to life and invites her into his world. It is an overall neat experience to watch a real true romance come to life!

 | tvtator (5) 11/30/2003 | Very cool use of animation and how they drew the band into the animation. I liked how the art and reality mixed. Still cool to watch today.

 | bigdondoo (0) 05/12/2003 | Take on me is a great video because it does what few videos even today can do, it took excellent viuals and combined them with a storyline to make a video that works and works well.

 | twinmom101 (31) 05/03/2003 | For some reason this song and video are hypnotic. Now I think I like it more because it reminds me of when I was growing up, but I thought the lead singer was so cute when I was 10. Even now I have 28 year-old guy friends who embarassingly admit they love this video. Long Live The 80's!!!!!

 | kamylienne (77) 03/19/2003 | Just as a video: it was a really interesting concept, especially for that time period, and again, for that time period, it was pulled of extremely well; the mixture of animation and real life was very fluid. This is probably not the absolute best music video, or maybe not even in the top 100, but it's still really innovative and well done considering that it was done when the concept of the music videos was still in its infancy.

 | r_mitchell (0) 09/30/2002 | Have to give my 5 cents here even though it's already been said over and over that this is one of the greatest videos. "Take on Me" was not only a great song but had a video that carried the energy of the song all the way through it. It had an innovative storyline about a guy stuck in the comic book world trying to cross to the other side (reality). The mirror scene where they see each other as real but are cartoons on the outside is just an example of why this video is one of the greatest out there.

 | a-haFan (0) 05/07/2002 | How in the world can such a great song not bring forth any other good ones. at least any other good ones in the US. With the release of their new album this month 4/2002, check it out btw...maybe this one will have a chance to be released in the US. perhaps if all the albums had been released in the US they would have had more popularity. of course MTV and the video of Take On Me made it even more successful. Nevertheless, MTV hardly ever plays videos anymore. so its a wonder that anyone gets any publicity at all other than the TV. Simply put, Take one me is brilliant, poppy and can you say "SOOOO 80's!!??"

 | UTVOLUSN (0) 03/27/2002 | The song is great but even without the music the video would still be entertaining. A truely one of a kind, innovative, artistic masterpiece.

 | Texx (0) 12/03/2001 | Terrible song but on of the truly first visually stunning things seen on MTV. Stood out in the "shot on video" dawn of the video age.

 | humphreybbear (0) 11/28/2001 | Ah, the good old days. Who could forget the spunk who popped out of a grimy newspaper and landed on the floor of a cheap English cafe? This song is the best.
Bring back the 80's - today's music sucks.

 | Badclive (0) 11/19/2001 | At the time it was simply the most amazing thing that had been seen on a music video - truly groundbreaking. It still looks great 15 years later - everyone who has seen it just once remembers it - what more can you say!?!

 | bob falange (0) 05/21/2001 | A very good song, expertly sung - consider the vocal range (try singing along to it to confirm this, without changing key!). This stylish and imaginative video made a huge impression at the time. A wonderful achievement.

 | emassey (0) 12/17/2000 | First it's a great song. Secondly, the way he used the hand drawing to illustrate the video through pencil drawings was creative and different, so you can appreciate the difference from the other videos.

 | buttons (0) 11/27/2000 | This video is a classic. I became hooked on it when I was 10 years old by watching it on VH-1. It's a cute mix of live action and animation; a girl steps into a comic book and carries on a romance with its main character. It's very 80's, but charmingly so.

 | haji (0) 11/22/2000 | I love 80's music. It's totally senseless and cheesy, and completely unaplogetic about it. "Take On Me" by itself is a good song but the video is a classic. Its special effects wowed people at the time but are kinda' lame now, to a lot of people. I think it's still cool, though. Also, the band is really cute.
