I absolutely love Portishead and I believe this CD to be one of their best. (10 points to the smarty who can guess from which song I got my name)This band is innovation all the way, with songs that not only touch and inspire, but entertain. I know I can just pop in one of their CD's (espicially this one) and just chill..lay on my bed and have lovely calm moments with myself. This record is like my soundtrack. Sometimes, people hear CD's or songs and think, 'wow, I wish my life was like this'-not so much the lyrics, but the way the music flows and what it illicits inside them. I wish my life was like this.

This CD is totally surreal and absorbing. It's the kind of dark, thwarted, suffering, unrequitted love inspired eletronica that really makes you wish you had a fat sack of chiba.

Dark, dreary, yet intelligent. Extremely well produced.

I love this CD. It's one of the few CDs I own that I can listen to in any mood and love every track. The sad voice of the singer mixes in with the beats of the drum and sound of the synthesizers with undertones of live guitar in the background.

Portishead has always been one of my very favorite groups. I have loved them since I first heard them. I have listened to Portishead for about six or seven years now. I saw them perform live. Their music gets to me emotionally. Dummy is my favorite album by them. I listen to it almost everyday. Their music is very instrumental and the lyrics almost accompany the instruments. They create a nice mixture of exciting and serene feelings.

I love the sound of her voice. Accompanied by the beats, her voice not only creates ambiance, but also a sense of surrealism. I usually experience a full range of low emotion when I listen to their music.

One of the best ever. A masterpiece. Every song is better than the last. This CD is duplicated all the time with minimal success.

This album is innovative. It is sad and beautiful at the same time. The music is beautiful. The CD is full of talent.

Definitely one of the best album's of the 90s. With this album, Portishead created a sound so original that it spawned off a new genre and countless imitators. The combination of obscure samples, minimalist arrangement, and Beth's voice are unparalleled anywhere else. A perfect album for those times when you are feeling down or mellow.
