A very good player, despite his apparent disregard for Lord Palmerston...

For many years, this chicken gobbling, groupie banging hitting machine was one of the most potent table setters in the game, despite his utter lack of speed. Started his career relatively late, which makes reaching 3000 hits that much more impressive. He was not good defensively when he came up, but steadily improved until he was well above average at third.

The best hitter of the pitching-dominated 1980s. Seven straight seasons of 200 or more hits and 5 Al batting crowns in the decade. Became a very good fielder, winning two gold gloves, and finally a championship with the Yanks. Age and injuries took their toll, but Wade still deserves a place in Cooperstown.

Selfish player who never played team ball. Never very popular among teamates nor fans.

A singles hitter who stunk his last 5 or 6 years in baseball.
