She makes my head hurt every time I hear her and at the Grammys, she looked so retarded when she got up on stage. i mean, I don't even know why she even got the award in the first place. Save yourself a headache and don't buy her cd!

01/03/2001 | There are only two really good songs on this album, but they are alone worth the price of the CD (tracks #2 and 4). Macy Gray has a unique voice which I've never heard anywhere else. But instead of listening to it straight through, I always program the few good songs.

12/20/2000 | Macy's voice and lyrics are touching and abrasive at the same time. This album goes from depressing to tough to heartwarming. For her first album I would say that she has got a style all her own and her confidence shows she is particularly proud of her weirdness.

11/19/2000 | when i first heard her i thought of janis joplin.she has a very unique voice and style. i think she needs to pick a style sort of like sade,leave the rock n roll part of the music out and have her instuments not over power each other.also she needs to shorten some of her songs.overall,i think she has tremendous potential.i for one will keep my ears on her music

11/03/2000 | When I first heard this album I was totally throwm by her voice. Very raspy, almost like Eartha Kitt. My girlfriend loved the album so I was forced to listen to it a lot. I eventually got into the arrangement and realized the whole band has a lot of talent and is bringing back older sounds and making them new again.
