I really dont like Matchbox 20 but by process of elimination they have become tolerable. Each year a new band comes out that is more horrible than the year before. The songs are ok but Im not doing jumping jacks over them anytime soon.

A great album with many classic songs, I hope Rob Thomas stops his solo pop career to get back with the band for another great album.
bigmb20fan 10/13/2001
This CD is excellent, a must own. Each song is well written and yet different from each other. Matchbox show off their range musically and lyrically. This CD is very different from "Yourself..." but you need to listen to it more than once to really get the feel of it. I think people do not appreciate how great this album is b/c they are trying to compare it to the first CD. Mad Season needs to be judged by its own merrits. If you just listen to every song, you'll agree that Mad Season is a classic CD.

I didn't mind matchbox twenty before, but now that their songs are played on every station, every day, every time I turn on the radio, whatever small liking I had for them has been difficult to sustain! It's not that they're the worst group ever, it's just that I will go out of my mind if I hear "If you're gone" one more time!
illeeah 06/05/2001
This is very easily the best CD I've listened to in a very long while. Every song is incredable. Matchbox Twenty is such a tallented band.
Restless_Addic t 06/05/2001
A far cry from today's bland rock! This sophomore album from matchbox twenty does NOT disappoint. ;)
robs_reststop 06/05/2001
AWESOME SONG AND VIDEO!!!!! MatchboxTwenty rules!!!!!
saltyeagle 06/05/2001
I just don't like them and their wussy rock. They're up their with Barenaked ladies, Vertical Horizon, and the Dave Matthews band as sellout MTV soft rock bands
saralapham 06/05/2001
Pure genius! Another awesome album from the boys!
willcam 06/05/2001
First off, Mad Season is a great album. It is different from the first and some people have a problem with that. To me it shows the band is growing and they just don't want to repeat the same thing over and over.
mattypnyc 06/05/2001
Wonderful CD. Extraordinary growth as artists. There are songs here that are haunting and stirring. MBT are awesome!
Tammy5145 06/05/2001
An absolutely awesome CD! The songs are brillianlty crafted, and Rob Thomas' vocals are awesome. There's something on the disc for everyone, and not a bad song to be found. My favorites are "Angry", "Stop" and "Rest Stop", but the whole disc is worthy of playing over and over again. If you don't already own it, you should!!
lpuckett98 05/30/2001
Rob Thomas is great! The whole band is good, but Rob has it going on!! They are my favorite group. I listen to them every day. I'm addicted.
mountainbiker 05/05/2001
They are a real good band; and it show when they sold over 10,000,000 copies of their album. The song I the most is "If your gone". We need more music like that in our souls
woodrow 04/25/2001
I think this is a fun album, nothing like the 5 star qulaity of the new Our Lady Peace "spiritual machines" or Coldplay and Travis, but it's a good album to own!!
*Melissa* 04/25/2001
Excellent CD. Saw them in concert and they rocked!!! They have great songs and awesome lyrics. This album has a song for every occassion. My favorite being "Last Beautiful Girl." I totally recommend you buy it.
kehmke 04/17/2001
Matchbox Twenty has done an incredible job with their second album "Mad Season". This album takes you on a journey of emotions and leaves you wanting more.
Drummer_Chick 04/12/2001
I loved the first CD, and this is a great sophomore album. The lyrics are great, and they are addictive. This is a great CD to pop in the stereo and listen straight through.
CrazyFrog 03/30/2001
If you liked the first album I think this one will be worth buying as well. Though I in no way think it is as good as the first. Many of the songs sound the same and there isn't the originality in this album that the first had. They made the songs to sound good on radio. This album can be appreciated, but not cherished.
matchbox20=hot 03/21/2001
Matchbox Twenty is an awesome band, I hope they come out with another CD soon. I have seen 4 of their concerts and each one gets better than the last. Their show is wonderful and they are the "garage"rock band that loves their fans!!! Long live Kyle Cook and Rob Thomas!!!!!
MB20 FAN 03/21/2001
I LOVED THE FIRST ALBUM AND WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE GROUP KEEPING UP THE AMAZING WRITING AND MUSIC ON THEIR SECOND. WELL "MAD SEASON" IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST. I WAS ASTOUNDED. I LOVE EVERY SONG ON THE ALBUM. ROB THOMAS JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER. I ALREADY CAN'T WAIT FOR THE THIRD. I AM 30 AND RECENTLY SEEN MB20 IN CONCERT THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS 18 AGAIN, THEY ARE EVEN MORE AWESOME LIVE THAN ON THEIR CD'S. ROB THOMAS HAS A WRITING ABILITY THAT REALLY TOUCHES YOUR HEART AND HIS VOICE IS AMAZING, OF COURSE HE IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ALSO, NONE OF HIS PICTURES DOES HIM JUSTICE. i WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ALBUM TO EVERYONE.
pookiebah 03/21/2001
Rob Thomas is a genius! His lyrics come from experience and his voice sings the pain. You won't find many other singers out there like him. MAD SEASON is a great album, the more you listen the better it becomes. I have a new favorite song everytime I listen to it. The people that don't like matchbox twenty are the ones that like junk music, stuff with no meaning. This album, like YOSLY, speaks volumes to those who want to listen and understand.
BrtnySpears28 03/10/2001
Please, this CD stinks to death!! Its as bad as a screaming baby!Whenever the lead guy sings he looks like he's going to eat the mic!
The_Herd_Girl 03/10/2001
This is a great cd...it actually surpassed my expectations...It is definitely worth the money for the cd.
dwfresh 03/07/2001
Very good album!!! great songs. I've only given 1 '5 star review' so far this year. (FINLEY QUAYE 'vanguard'). But Mad season was very close!! These guys rock.
dadeau 02/28/2001
When I bought this CD I was expecting great things. I loved their last album and Santana's Smooth, so I had very high expectations for this CD. The first time I listened to it I wasn't sure if I liked it, it was so different from the first one. But as time passed I found the catchy tunes stuck in my head and it made me want to play it more and more. I ended up buying two copies of the CD, one for my car and one for my house. It is by far the most played CD in my collection. I have become a great fan of Rob Thomas and his music that stays with you for days after you hear it for the first time. "Rest Stop" is a visual picture you will not forget and "You Won't Be Mine" is an excellent ballad that you probably won't realize how much you like it until later when the words and melody continure to run through your head. Matchbox Twenty is one of the best bands to come out in the last twenty years and I know they will be around at least as long as Aerosmith. I am looking forward to their next CD and my expectations are even higher for that one. I know they won't disappoint!
scribbles 02/28/2001
The only album I gave 5 stars in the last few months is Finley Quaye's 'vanguard'. But this one is pretty close. I love the songwriting and melodies, and it deserves a lot of attention!!
wildjade 02/03/2001
not as greatas the first one is, but still excellant.
Pender34 01/24/2001
This band is amazing. The first album was incredible and they amazed me again with the second. Their songs are indescribable. Truthfull lyrics that make you really think.
fredswoman 01/16/2001
Well i told myself that i'd never like that whiny crappy rock but matchbox 20 won me over with "if your gone"This cd is really pretty good
JackieM 01/15/2001
This band is simply trying too hard. There is nothing else to it. Everything sounds strained, and every song is searching for a catchy hook, which it never finds. Nothing about it is genuine or original. The opening guitars in Bent sound like a second rate Heart rip off, and even the title is the name of a lesser known, far better mid-90's band.
Char 01/12/2001
This album is the best one I've heard this year. The songs are catchy and more mellow than those from their first one. It's the kind of music that can be listened to in any mood.
drippyblaylock 01/10/2001
I think this album is great. good catchy tunes and just fun to listen to. It's second only to David Gray's 'White Ladder' as my favorite right now.
crosswordpuzzl es 01/07/2001
This is a fabulous CD, and I'm 40 years old. What an old bag! Anyway, Crutch rocks. Reminds of some of that good old fashioned guitar playing of my youth. Mad Season is intriguing, and, of course, Bent pulls everybody in. It'll probably get way overplayed, but this is the best CD I've jogged to in a long time. Rob Thomas is a poet with a sexy, throaty voice. Maybe I'm going through my mid-life crisis. Oh, by the way, Rest Stop lyrics will really make you think.
Tynan 01/05/2001
This is the best CD! There are less slow, tedious ballads on this CD than average, which makes it a good CD to put you in an excellent mood. Also, unlike most CD's the title track "Mad Season" is catchy and upbeat instead of a corny, sappy song.
louise21472 01/04/2001
this album was very very very great it was even better then thier first album [YourSelf or Someone Like you]
Kristie_KC 12/26/2000
I loved the first CD and am thrilled that the 2nd CD, although totallly dif from the 1st is even better! There is much more maturity in the music and the guys blend better! Noone writes like Rob does and this CD proves it! One of the few CD's that I can listen to the whole way through and love every song on it. Rock on guys!
Kody_girl 12/13/2000
ONCE AGAIN PROVES THAT MB20 ARE THE BEST.
honesty 12/12/2000
It's the only cd I own that I can listen to all the way through.
rktlover 12/12/2000
Absolutely the best album I've ever bought.
GirlLikeThat2O 12/04/2000
This is by far one of the most amazing works of musical talent ever! "Mad Season by Matchbox Twenty" is absolutely beautiful, with strong, passionate, and as always very universal lyrics, that anyone and everyone can find themselves identifying with. "Mad Season" truly shows that Rob Thomas and Co. have really poured their hearts into this sophomore effort.--Shawna
wrealone 11/10/2000
The lyrics on this album are unbelieveable. Rob Thomas shows some of his best work, but the music(guitar, drums) is not that great. Personally, I think Rob should go solo.
eddie1770 11/02/2000
I loved their first CD and this one is just as good. It is the type of CD you can put in and just let all the songs play. Even though they fall into alternative music, they play with heart and depth in their lyrics.
sapphire18 10/31/2000
I love Matchbox 20 and Rob Thomas has such a sexy voice it sends chills down my body everytime I hear him. I definetly like this album much better than their first one.
rzikoor 10/27/2000
Overall this was a very good CD. I had about 4 songs I really loved. The rest of the album is all very good. There wasn't one song I didn't like. This album has a lot of influence on Rob Moma's recent marriage. His lyrics and album were extremely influenced by his romance. This is a sweet, upbeat album.
jumaksim 10/27/2000
Not as good as their first one, but still good. Thought it sounded a little different than the first album, but still good.
lisag 10/23/2000
This CD is awesome. It is even better than their first. Bent is good, but Crutch, Mad Season, and others are even better.
sierra 10/10/2000
Lots of good songs, not just one or two. Different from the first album, but not radically. Bent is an awesome song.
missi 09/15/2000
matchbox twenty is the hottest band that there will ever be! I am their biggest fan! And i am not a teenager!
mbtw10178om 08/25/2000
