Excellent Album, but this listing is in the wrong catagory. White Pony was released in 1999!

i only rate this because of the tool factor(maynard james keenan) passenger is a classic

not their best album but still good

The vocals prove to me that the singer is a homo, just like Korn. Weak guitars, weak drums, all tuned to create "heaviness".

this cd is ok, but i can't listen to it too much, or else i may kill myself....their music is just too depressing at times.

This album was great,The Deftones really kicked it up a few levels on this disc and the result is one of the better records to top the charts recently.

Some people call this a comeback album, when in all actuality Deftones never really left. This album was a long time in the comeing and was well worth the wait. This is The Deftones best album to date. With passionate singles like Change (In the house of flies), Knife Party and Korea which have a very distinct and unrelenting seductivness that is unmistakably Deftones, this amazing band creates some of there best songs ever. Songs that make you feel. What I like about this album (and every Deftone's album) is that their songs make you feel and give off a certain emotion with each song. And they do this not only with lead singer Chino Marino's sometimes soft sometimes hard always beautiful vocals, but also the music itself which gives off its very own life and energy. Unlike any other band in the over hyped super marketed world of bands like Creed and Limp Bizkit, this band will not sell out. Deftones could quit possibly be one of the most underrated bands of all time. Spin reviewed this album and it recieved a 4 out of 10! While giving such shallow bands with not much to say like Limp Bizkit an 8 with their Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water album. White Pony is an album that is a power house. Towering over just about every rock C.D. that was released that year and even this year. This album also includes a guest appearence by Tool and A Perfect Circle front man Maynard James Keenan who lends his vocals to the moody single Passenger. A lead man from two other highly underrated bands. In times like these where crap music rules the charts and receives all the air play, it is nice to know that great music like The Deftones are not intimidated or scared away and can release penitrating albums such as this.

one of my all time favorite albums. i have been a deftones fan scince 95 when they first came out, and they never cease to amaze me. there isn't a bad song on this album. i think this album is the deftones most evolved one. adrenaline was more of a hardcore album, around the fur was their experimental album and then white pony was the bands sound evolved. its great how they can put out three albums, all different, and still not have a bad song.white pony is more mellow, with songs like pink maggit and digital bath and knife prty, but there is still songs like elite and korea to show that they can still be hardcore. the track with maynard is great to. i have the limited adition white pony with the song "the boys republic" on it. for anyone who has not heard this song, i suggest that you borrow from a friend or download it, cause its a great song, one of my favorites on the album. i can't say its my favorite album, because that always changes, depending on my mood, but this album is amazing. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!

How can anyone rate Deftones terrible!? They are a kick ass band that does their own thing and is great at it! That is what they are...what they are not is a conformist, pop, wannabe boy band! Thank god! Deftones ROCK!

Defones are my favorite band because of the emotion Chino puts forth in his lyrics. This album is the most mellow of all three albums the band has released. The songs are not as fast and loud as usual, but they are just as great. The lyrics are so meaningful and you don't feel as much anger as usual from the band. Like always, with the Deftones, some of the songs are hard to interpret, however, they still convey all the emotions that they were trying for. I recommend this album to people of any age.

The Deftones are my hometown boys. Sac-to music is awesome. I don't really like this CD as much as Around The Fur though. The music is kind of soft for them and "Change" is actually annoying. But home-town scores points.

These guys rock w/PASSION! Chino Moreno has the best voice ever and this album really brought that out. The moods on this CD are insane too- one minute he's scared, the next in love, the next pissed off. My fave tracks are "Feticieria", "Korea", and "Teenager."
LdoubleE 11/24/2000
The Sacremento sound is out. This is one of their best albums. The music is edgy with true to life emotions.
RuffRaverSteve 11/24/2000
This CD is really good. I have a lot of Deftones stuff. They didn't disappoint this time.

One of the best CDs. They pour their hears into this CD. The raw emotion mixed with awesome music makes for a great time. Perfect for driving. They make you feel like you aren't the only one with problems. They make you feel better about yourself.

Deftones rock! White Pony takes a different route from previous albums but it still kicks ass.
julcon24 11/08/2000
It's a great CD. It's a little different from their old stuff, but it's still good. It's a little softer than what I'm used to from them, but it's still a great CD. Even if you're not into punk you can still get into this CD.

Change is a superb song. The rest of the album is good. Creative. Good for hanging out.

Deftones are sooo cool, I have a tatoo of them on my ass. I've never heard music like that. It's so cool.
breez 11/06/2000
Deftones is a really underrated band. They are great in concert. If you like guitars you will love this.
The Thorn 10/31/2000
Deftones' finest album. It's delightfully disturbing. Moreno's vocals are the groups finest effect, but Steph's guitar work is the muscle. Song-writing geniuses-they're one of the most influential hard rock bands. This album shows why.
DoorsRBest 10/19/2000
While I have not heard the whole album yet, I think that "passenger" is a great song and I think that the collaboration with Maynard was cool.
nbray 10/13/2000
The year's most passionate album in my opinion. Formerly I felt this band was borderline Death Metal at times, now they have a well refined, sonic dreamy sound. Tracks I recommend are "Knife Party," "Feel Like More," and "Change." This album is very personal and is very important to me. I'm often scared of the way mainstream music is going, but this saves me.
