I was a big Maiden fan in the 80's but this band has lost it for me. This album has few memorable songs on it. Sounds like the Irons are going through the motions on this one.

A lot of people I know are passionate Maiden fans. I just have never quite gotten them. Their music is okay but the songs are long and boring in my opinion. Some of their earlier works are okay. This album does not have any really great songs. I think it gets a strong reputation because Dickinson and Smith rejoined the band but otherwise it is like watching paint dry.

Well rounded and fully done album ... A masterpiece ...

Metal 'done right'! Great songwriting, guitars, vocals, etc. Iron Maiden is timeless... one of the BEST metal bands EVER hands down.

Man...it is SO difficult to make a successful comeback, but...Maiden did it on this album. Not surprising, after giving it a second thought.

I hadn't been keeping up with the metal world last year when I noticed on the rack that there was a new Maiden album featuring - what? - Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith?!!? So, having a little extra cash (and a recommendation from the guy at the store), I brought "Brave New World" home. After hearing this album, I have vowed to never write off another "washed-up" band ever again. This is the best Iron Maiden album since 1988. "Brave New World" is now one of the brightest stars in my entire CD collection. As a long-standing Maiden fan, my prayers have been answered with this album. Bruce Dickinson is in fine voice, Steve Harris breezes through with his signature bass patterns, and has rediscovered his songwriting skills. The triple guitar attack used here is not always obvious to the ear, but at times it shines through nicely. The songs are meaty and long, maybe a bit too long but most Iron Maiden fans won't even notice. "Brave New World" could have (and should have) been released right after "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son". I can't stress this point enough; I am a harsh critic when it comes to metal music but I was FLOORED by this album. All those years of embarassing themselves have been forgiven. All Iron Maiden fans of old owe it to themselves to buy this album. Honestly, those who have bagged on "Brave New World" are either deaf or have not heard the album.

In termz of songwritin' quality this iz one of their strongezt albumz. Muzically, i find it a little slow too but a lot of tha songz here are more fully developed than Maiden'z stuff haz been in a long time (e.g. Blood Brotherz, Ghost of tha Navigator) and Tha Wicker Man juzt kickz ass! It doez plod a little in placez an' tha bass haz been turned down a little too much but this iz still one of their strongezt albumz an' it'z great to see that havin' them all back together again haz brought tha Iron back into Maiden.

I love Maiden's older work, and it is exciting to have singer Dickinson back in the band as well as Adrian Smith (guitar). However this album is subpar. The songs have no power and is way too slow.

I am a Maiden fan and it is awesome to see Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith back in the band, but this is a dissappointing release. Where are the fast, well played songs. This album is too slow, and a boring listen for the most part. Dickinson's last two solo efforts,Accident of Birth,and Chemical Wedding blow this junk away.

Second best CD of the year behind Cooper's Brutal Planet. The songs are a little too slow but I still love this masterpiece. Come on everyone getout there and support real rock, and buy the new Maiden,Cooper, and others!

Good stuff. A little slow for my liking, but pretty good songs. Not a perfect album, but one that will please mosthard rock fans.

The two best albums in rock this year are Alice Cooper's Brutal Planet and this one!

Good to see the band back out there, but the album is very dull.

Most people wouldnt know what to expect from a band thats been around 20+ years!!! Heavy metal is a spiritual thing,granted it will never be as good as the old stuff it still has the energy!!! Let me just say this... It blows Metallica's crap out of the water!!!
