Stop what you're doing right now and buy this CD.Hall of Fame Jazz album. . .you can put it on for dinner music to attempt to impress the lady with your eclectic tastes. For me, it's a must-own along with Miles Davis "Kind of Blue". . .you won't regret the purchase.

Coltrane dedicated this album to God,which makes it unlikely that atheists will ever be taken seriously in the jazz world;incredible.

Like it or not, this is a monument in the world of jazz music. It is a religious piece but it contains, in abundance, the key ingredients of fine jazz: rhythmic propulsion, improvisation, and, crucially, tonnes of soul. The combo is Coltrane's classic quartet of the early/mid 60's, displaying awesome individual performances, but tightly bound. Let this music enter your life!

This is Coltrane's tour de force from the mid 1960's. Both the opening pentatonic riffs and Coltrane's explosive melodic re-entry in the third section of the album are worth the price of the album. His extremely fast blues solo on "Resolution" is also noteworthy. This is simply a masterpiece.

What makes me chuckle is that Leann Rimes gets 5-stars for her latest piece of (work), while Coltrane scores a 3.95 for his seminal masterpiece. Curious. This disc moves me like no other.
