I'd put Ornette Coleman at the top of my acquired taste category;when I first heard him he didn't make any sense at all.His "first" instrument is alto sax,but he's largely self-taught  and  libel to try anything.I can't say I'm crazy about everything he's tried,but 'Shape' has become one of my favorite cd's.

Ornette's inventive and beautiful melodies grace this record. It is more interesting to listen to than "Free Jazz." It could almost be re-named "Happy People Music." This album would give anyone inspiration.
