"Greatest" (1998) is an update of Duran Duran's previously released compilation "Decade" (1989). "Greatest" improves on the prior compilation since it not only includes all of the tracks on "Decade" (e.g. "The Reflex", "Hungry Like The Wolf", and "A View To A Kill") but also features the band's subsequent hits (e.g. "Electric Barbarella" "Ordinary World" and "Come Undone"). The only notable fault is that this retrospective includes a lot of single edits, as opposed to the full-length versions of the songs. Notwithstanding this minor complaint, "Greatest" is all the Duran Duran most any listener would want. Nevertheless, in my opinion, no greatest hits release should be on this list, as a compilation cannot really be compared to regular albums and does not represent the concept of a full-length effort, resulting in a 4 star album getting only 1.

It's Duran Duran, it's got to have a 5. Even though the super great songs never make it to a greatest hits record, it is still worth listening to.

a must have for all those fans who loved Duran Duran in the eighties and the newer 90's songs that were a new flavour of sound but with the Simon Le Bon voice,a little more earthy and real

I like Duran Duran, but this Greatest Hits compilation is not so great. I think it under-represents how good their music is and basically there are a lot of bad songs on it. I gave it a 3 because there are some good songs, but personally I think I could have done a better job.

Duran Duran definitely gives a good mix of past and present works on this CD. Great to listen to at any time, especially with friends. A must for any CD collector.

A band that could be forgotten, without having a "best of" collection to remind us! Terrible texts, poor musicians. The band really lacked good song writing skills being more reliant on image, that worked well in the 1980's unfortunate they did not learn their lessons and tried a comeback in the mid 1990's.

This CD is too good to be true. Eventhough I can't stand the eighties (both the time as well as most of the music) this album does deserve tremendous credit. The songs are very well done, plus they are known to most people-so you can sing with them.

A good compilation of songs by Duran Duran. Tones range from "View to Kill" to "Ordinary World" with all the big hits included. At times a bit too monotonous, but still a good CD nonetheless.

It's got all the good songs on it by Duran Duran. Some 80's songs with a mix of newer ones.

Rather than 'Greatest', they should have simply called it 'Hits', because none of their hits were even remotely good, much less great. P.S. I think Simon LeBone is secretly Boy George.

Thorough sampling of Duran Duran's work. Includes early to mid-eighties hits "Rio," "View to a Kill" up to their refined nineties selections like "Come Undone." It's all the casual fan will ever need. With a vast pool of hits to choose from, there is little filler and it seems to have included all the songs for which a listener can familiarize himself with the band.
