Like this album a lot, unpretentious, even a bit funny at times, rocks pretty hard, and has some memorable tunes. The group put forth a lot of effort into making a fine album, and it shows.

Definitely what alternative/indie was all about until the 90's and Nirvana came along and white washed it and dumbed it down for the MTV generation.

The 'Rubber Soul' of my generation. From the opening chords to 'I Will Dare' to the quiet despair of 'Adrogenous' all the way down to the screaming self-lacerations of 'Answering Machine', a true, no-holds barred classic.

If you could give anything that this band did anything less that 4 stars, you don't get rock and roll. Period.

A profoundly influential record -- post-punk rock gets a heart (Sixteen Blue) without losing its spirit (Favorite Thing). You can hear the echoes of Minneapolis punk (the Replacement and Husker Du too) all over Nirvana.
