What can I say this is Motley's most popular and best album. Musically they improved a lot over the more glam sounding "Too Fast For Love." The songs on this album are heavier. Mick Mars is a very underrated guitarist.

The Crue are one of the great dirty hard rock bands of the 80's. While musically there are more talented bands, a few of their albums are awesome and this is one of their best efforts. It is amazing to hear how good of a singer Vince Neil was during this period and compare him to today.

I really just don't like this band - silly voice, stupid lyrics, not sure why they were so huge back then.

The album has a few guilty pleasures like Looks to Kill but on a whole this is campy, derivative, gimmicky, and plastic.

I hate to say it but this was not a bad album at all. That look was too flamboyant for them, or shall I say glamboyant.

You know, crazy as it is, I am an ex-metal chick and I still have to love this album. 80's cheer metal may be out, but this album is so raw and powerful in its emotion, its countribution can't be denied.

I loved Motley Crue in the 1980's and listened beyond outright satanic statements to the need to rock and roll. I met them at a concert one and I gave my appreciation to this album and its makeup stained imperfections.

Hey, this is a classic, without this album the 80´s wouldn´t be the same. Shout at the devil is the most important album of the 80's, It ain't the best but is a f**kin' excelent album.

It is my pleasure to knock this record down below 'Ziggy Stardust' by David Bowie. I am even an outside admirer of Motley Crue, but this record just is flat out bad. On this record they have energy, but not a hell of a lot of talent. Mick Marrs has and always will be one of the scraiest life forms to look at.

Shout at the Devil from Motley Crue is one of the most influential albums of the mid 80's. Commercially and musically it changed the viewpoint of the music industry.

Ahhhh yes, SATD ... another classic Crue album! There's nothing like Motley Crue, when it comes to in-your-face, bad@ss rock & roll tunes. And the Crue has a "New Tattoo" for you in July 2000 ... so, don't forget to get inked by our Motley boys in the new millennium!!

MÖTLEY CRÜE is my all time fave band, and Shout at the Devil is one of my favorite CD's that they have made (so far...hoping New Tattoo is the best yet!) SATD just rocks and I think it has influenced a lot of rock music, both back in the eighties and in the present.

hard rock attitude smashes you in the face; 10 original tracks and cover of Helter Skelter speak of the dark, gritty, not so glamorous underworld of violence, hate, and death. a true classic that belongs in any rock n roll collection

Anything with "Don't Go Away Mad" can't be given a 1-star rating, but the idea of a Motley Crue record belonging in a list of "classic" rock/pop CDs is very questionable, and being ranked highly in it just doesn't make sense.

Motley often gets overlooked as a "hair band" which is really unfair. The only reason there was a "hair" movement is because every label wanted the next "Motley Crue" Although Shout At The Devil may not be their most succesful album, it was the album that set the standard for which heavy metal is measured. It made heavy metal commercially viable, while keeping intact it's dangerous side. A lot of today's popular bands credit that album for inspiring them the way yesterday's generation credits Black Sabbath. Truly a timeless metal album!
