 | leftfinger (2) 04/20/2006 | Peter Gabriel tasted some commercial success with this one - and it's good!

Despite the glut synthesizers and dance oriented sound this album was catchy and clever with plenty of superb songs. An 80's masterpiece.

 | VirileVagabond (32) 12/03/2003 | So brought Peter Gabriel back to the forefront of the music scene in 1986 even though he had an earlier minor hit single with Shock The Monkey. This full-length release contained three huge tracks, namely Sledgehammer, In Your Eyes, and Big Time. Two of the other more notable tracks are Red Rain and Gabriel's duet with Kate Bush on Don't Give Up. This release is clearly Gabriel's most accessible efforts and remains the best place to start when considering your initial Peter Gabriel purchase.

 | kolby1973 (32) 09/03/2003 | The song titled, SLEDGEHAMMER, makes this album worth buying. I highly recommend it to true rock fans, especially the fans from the 80's.

 | Slapst (0) 12/15/2000 | "So" is a great album to chill out to. I like to listen to it after a long day or when it's raining. It has some great romantic songs as well, so it goes great with a dinner date or driving in a car.

 | Picasso (0) 12/14/2000 | One of his strongest albums. Very artifical sounds-he likes drum machine, synthesizers and electronic instruments-he nevertheless manages to squeeze a variety of music out of it, from ballad to ode to dance to out right experimentation. A great listen!

 | tatib17 (0) 12/05/2000 | A great CD, including my favorite songs of his, "In Your Eyes" and "Red Rain." His music style is very touching and I place him on a pedestal along with Paul Simon and Sting. I also like how he performs with other artists.

 | Millie9 (0) 12/01/2000 | The only reason it gets a 4 is for the song "In Your Eyes." There are a couple other good songs but the CD is short and a few songs lack "umph." It is overpriced for what you get.

 | wighty (0) 10/31/2000 | The best of all the Gabriel CDs. Every song rips and it also contains classics like "In Your Eyes."

 | mmannex (0) 10/13/2000 | I can't help it, I just love everything by Peter Gabriel. His singing and lyrics have a range of emotions and rythms. This album has a lot of variety and some lyrics are humorous. Listening to this album I never get bored.

 | Shafty (2) 09/21/2000 | Get this uninspired run-of-the-mill garbage out of here. If it were not for Joghn Cusack with a boom box on his shoulders in 'Say Anything'and a couple of 'crazy and unique' videos, this CD would have gone unnoticed like the rest of Peter Gabriel's work since his departure form Genesis. This record stinks and does not deserve to be grouped with the classics.

 | alicat (3) 08/11/2000 | If you take off SledgeHammer from this album and it would be really great. I just love the song "In your eyes" from the movie, 'Say Anything'. Peter Gabriel is really talented.
