 | CanadaSucks (45) 10/20/2005 | A step down from their first and second albums, but still the last stand of bad-ass rock before candy-pop took over the charts. "Maria" is a terrific track. . .listen carefully for the very-underrated Tom Morello on guitar. Much has been made of the bands politics, which I find strange. Of course they are politically naive, but the music is too powerful to ignore. Although I am glad they broke up before they started to fade, the bland world of PC-safe pop music needs their sonic blast more than ever.

 | HeadOfCobain (0) 07/06/2005 | I loved RATM with their first ablum, but this one killed it for me. What were these rich rock stars raging against now? I realized that they were just in it for the money at this point. None of their bumper sticker slogans disguised as songs could make me think any differently.

 | angela the great (0) 03/12/2003 | I am a HUGE Rage fan and I think this is their second best album next to self-titled, it is SOOOOOO much better than evil empire and renegades and i can't believe people can even think of comparing it to Blibk182 and Limp Bizkit... How dare you!!! The music is so powerful both musically and politically and one of their best

 | Jason1972 (3) 01/15/2003 | It was terrible that this was RATM's last album with De La Rocha. Their music was maturing and it had powerful stucture with great riffs, and low and behold, he walked away from it all.

 | chevy (0) 01/12/2001 | Very strong political currents mixed with hard music. This band is often imitated but never copied (eg Limp Bizkit).

 | igotaby (0) 01/10/2001 | Rage Against the Machine is one of my favorite alternative rock bands. With Battle of Los Angeles, I think they are getting a little repetitive. Zac DeLaRocha's vocals sound the same on every track. Rage needs to change their style a little bit so as not to sound repetitive.

 | Bluelady (0) 01/08/2001 | This is Rage Against the MAchine at their wickedest. Compelling baselines, hard fast droming that hits home, and a lot of energy. This is what being a rock band is all about.

 | Thorne (3) 12/22/2000 | Rage Against The Machines are capatialist phonies. Never the less they still manage to put out radio freindly pop medelys about fake revolutions that will never take effect because the people they NOW cater to is the same that listen to Blink 182 and Limp Bizkit. No offense.Their political messages are stale and dry attempts to make us believe we are fighting some great repression. Whatever. If you like pop music and Carson Daly go grab yourself a copy. What used to be a great band has now shrivled into nothing more than another cop out.Their music is a sweet sugar coated vision of teenage political rage.

 | Rage-girl004 (0) 12/19/2000 | Battle of Los Angeles is the band's most politically motivated album. The songs are so powerful, you can feel the raw emotion each time you listen to the CD. The whole album is excellent. I listened to it everyday since it came out and I never got boared of it, you get a new meaning from the album each time you hear it. The band conveys their political views very clearly and it makes you want to get up and take the power back.

 | Moss Man (0) 12/12/2000 | Rage is one of my favorite bands. On this album, they exemplify Morello's guitar excellence and mix the appropriate amount of political messages.

 | Pickguard1 (0) 12/07/2000 | RATM keeps its unique and driving sound on this album, as well as screaming out their mind (although controversal) ideology. The energy and mix of rock and hip hop from one of the originals of the genre is at the top of the industry.

 | RyloBozak36 (0) 11/24/2000 | This album clearly shows that Rage Against the Machine is the greatest rock band of the 90's. In a world of no more guitar solo's, Tom Morello kills on these tracks, establishing himself as the only guitar hero of the 90's. Zack's meaningful lyrics, they are the ultimate. To mix rock and roll with politics and not be boring is tough.

 | SpamGrl (0) 11/20/2000 | This is a really fun album to listen to. It has a hard sort of sound, but you can dance to it. Most hard music you can't really dance to, but this one you can. My favorite song is "Sleep Now in the Fire". This album is a tribute to the janitor's strike in Los Angeles. Rage helped them out and they won. So, it's a good album and has a certain type of meaning.

 | Goat (0) 11/16/2000 | Great music. Most people just think it is music to get rowdy to. What I like is if you listen to the words, all the songs tell you something.

 | Turtle (0) 11/15/2000 | Rage delivers a strong message in each of their songs. Each track is full of energy, knowledge and consistently creative music. I like that the band chooses to take part in our nation's politics. It's not just another band that compains about the ills of the gout, but puts forth a strong effort to make change.

 | Cube-333 (0) 11/15/2000 | Good album from my favorite band. All the songs are great. There is only one bad thing, all the songs just total to about 50 minutes of music.

 | ttbj (0) 11/15/2000 | Good music combined with inspiring lyrics. The songs are very deep with political and social implications as well as good, hard hitting music.

 | crash (0) 11/13/2000 | One of their best CDs They put lots of emotion into it. They try and get their cause to be heard by the politicians. They want people to stand up for their rights.

 | katy (0) 11/09/2000 | I loved this CD! It wasn't as good as their previous albums, but it was still great. It was very experimental and Tom Morello had some great guitar solos.

 | rem1 (0) 11/07/2000 | Although they strayed a little from their original sound, the message is still there and Tom Morella's guitar is just awesome again. All is okay, it's just another Rage album and they deserve a five just for that.

 | STFE13 (0) 11/01/2000 | Rage has upped their political adovacy to new levels. This is is a very good story. 'A song for Maria' will be remembered, much like the Bob Dylan classic 'Hurricane'.

 | The Thorn (0) 10/31/2000 | The political, hard rock rhymes of Zack de la Rocha fuel a guitar heavy tough sound. The support is more than competent. It's a model for how to play the guitar and their music displays passion like little else.

 | keysersoze (0) 10/24/2000 | Great lyrics that tell the truth of our US government. Good guitar work. Tom Morello is cool. Viva la Revolution!

 | mrsexwax (0) 10/23/2000 | Their viewpoints were great in telling people to stand up and rage against the turning wheels of the machine (groan). I once got a disturbing the peace ticket at my home from cranking this tune, which ended in a five hour standoff in 1997.

 | atrybom (0) 10/16/2000 | The third album from Rage shows all of their styles from aggressive political rap to mind blowing guitar work, Rage is one of the only bands to do rap/rock the right way. Their music sends a message to the listener and the guitarist Tom Morello is amazing, making sounds the guitar just can't make.

 | sdahi (0) 10/03/2000 | Some musical critics have deemed the self entitled album by Rage Against the Machine as their best, but their latest CD Battle of Los Angeles is far superior musically and messagewise.

 | Bshift (0) 10/03/2000 | If you haven't heard of Rage I don't know where you've been. They are extremely political, but definitely not boring, with lots of screaming and great guitar solos.

 | rb4b10318om (0) 08/31/2000 | A dynamic sophmore effort. This band has added new textures to their sound. Direct and forceful. Political lyrics are still this bands staple.

 | nirv10285om (0) 08/30/2000 | This hard rock album contians great lyrics which take a revolutionary stance against modern day politics. Filled with historical references and various anti-police and anti-government lyrics, "The Battle of Los Angeles" captures the essence of Rage Against the Machine as not only musicians but as revolutionaries. "More for Gore" or the "Son of a Drug Lord," or "None of the Above'.....

 | mart8487at (0) 07/12/2000 | I love Rage Against the Machine because of the unusual kind of music they make. The lyrics are quite expressive and sometimes the music is very experimental. But all in all a Rage Against the Machine concert is way better than any CD.

 | TSEN43DU (0) 12/01/1999 | The new rage doesn't disappoint. The album starts out strong as hell, with the first four tracks being awesome, but it does kind of slip a little afterwards. Still, Zack's lyrics are awesome as usual, and while The Battle of Los Angeles may not suprass rage's classic first album, i'd rank it a notch above Evil Empire. Recommended.
