93century's favorite line: "This steak still has marks where the jocky was hitting!"

93century's favorite character: Tony the greaser caddy played by actor Scott Colomby. He claimed he could kick O'Keefe's ass while his brother jumps off the roof, and does it for him.

Some very funny bits, but rather erratic. Ted Knight is just painful, as is Chevy Chase. Bill Murray's schtick starts to wear a little towards the end as well.

Rodney Dangerfield is the best thing in it.

A pretty good "B" movie with some funny people in it. The story is o.k., most of the actors are just o.k.. and to me the Bill Murray portion was way over the top. While Chevy Chase was his usual somewhat funny self, the real stars are Rodney Dangerfield and Ted Knight. Well worth a rental (for grown-ups only). I don't see it as a classic unless you are high on something when you view it. (something that encourages laughter)

I guess it's a lot funnier if you happen to like golf--which I do NOT.

I thought this movie was pretty good. I love Bill Murray in it, he made the movie for me.

I only recently saw this movie for the first time ever in my life on the Comedy Channel. Unless there were a LOT of parts edited (that is DELETED) from the movie (because it was shown on the Comedy Channel and not on a station which shows the entire movie uncut), I found Caddyshack to be, hands-down, one of the most unfunny, incoherent messes of a movie ever concocted. The dialogue was horrendous, the acting was horrendous, and the entire plot made no sense whatsoever. I actually gave it a zero-star rating (I rate movies much like Roger Ebert) after seeing it though I wouldn't mind seeing the entire uncut version on DVD to substantiate my rating. Dreadfully-horrendous schlock. Amazingly-bad and easily Bill Murray's (who I think, anyways is a little overrated and non-veratile as an actor) worst performance ever.

Ted Knight as the cheap and mean judge is still hilarious several presidents later. . .

How I miss Rodney Dangerfield. He was the one that made this movie funny, but not too funny as the supporting actors did not appeal to me much. I feel that if they were a little less putrid in some areas in the movie, I would like it more.

Another classic comedy. Who would have thought that Chevy Chase would be a golf zen master? Maybe not a laugh a minute comedy, but still funny after all these years.

Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield made this movie great. They stole the show right out from under Chevy Chase. How can you not love a golf movie with a belly dancing gopher???

Forever quotable! It's unbelievable that this 25 year-old comedy hasn't gotten stale. So many funny characters (Chase, Dangerfield, Knight, and of course Murray). The story (although uncomplicated) is enough to join all of the hilarity together, but still allows all of the characters to be funny.

Ya know how you go out to the video store to rent a good movie for the evening and you look for 20-30 minutes and just can't find anything appealing? So what do you usually end up with in your bag (no pun intended) when you leave the store...Caddyshack! The King of Comedys!

Funny, but too much sex scenes. It is worth seeing this movie just to see Carl Spackler (Bill Murray), a determined and somewhat psychopathic greenskeeper.

Except for Animal House (and maybe Airplane), no comedy movie has begat more catch-phrases (e.g. - It's in the hole!!! Noonan, Noonan) than Caddyshack. From start to finish, this movie serves up laughs on something that is hard to make fun of -- the urbane sport of golf. While Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, and Bill Murray delivered some of their greatest comedic work in a movie, Ted Knight earns medalist honors as the outrageous Judge Schmails. I dug the primitive animotronic gopher. While dancing with a girl in Newport Rhode Island, she commented that I danced like the gopher. Needless to say, I did not score that night. If you have never seen Caddyshack, you are missing out on one of the great pleasures in life. P.S. - For the Ladyshark, that was a Baby Ruth...mistaken for a u-know-what.

Directed by Harold Ramis, Caddyshack (1980) is one of those films that should not work, but does primarily because of the on-screen talent. The story is a group of loosely tied subplots involving an upscale, private golf course, namely a caddy from the wrong side of the tracks, Danny Noonan (Michael O'Keefe), an eccentric, trust fund golf prodigy, Ty Webb (Chevy Chase), the stuffy, egocentric partner in the club, Judge Smails (Ted Knight), obnoxious, nouveau riche Al Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield), and assistant groundskeeper Carl Spackler (Bill Murray). The humor is often crude, jumbled, and completely non-cerebral as the characters deliver one-liners and situation gags; nevertheless, there is a place for this type of comedy, and it has never been done any better. The bottom line is that Caddyshack is the epitome of a guy film.

That whole scene with the feces floating in the pool really grossed me out! And why the hell would a guy eat it? Sorry, but when I was done with this scene, I almost threw up. Even if it was supposedly "just a baby ruth".

Needs to be in the top 5. Hilarious movie. As a golf caddy I really can relate to the movie. This movie is timeless and the replay value is infinite. Danny: "I thought you said winning wasn't everything?" Ty: "Me, no. You, do." Danny: "Good grammer Ty." -or- Dangerfield: "That kangaroo stole my ball!"

It amazes me people don't like this movie because it is stupid. What were you expecting when you watched a movie with Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield, an intellectual genius of a comedy? This movie was great, and i think very underrated in terms of all time comedies.

Hilarious movie. Has anyone over the age of twelve not seen this one? Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, and Ted Knight are all funny to watch as they battle over the golf course championship. My favorite scene is when the guy blows his perfect round in the storm and has his club struck by lightning.

Here, you get to see what, in my mind, is one of the most-quoted comedies of all time. A classic, no doubt about it. "Gunga-galunga." "Tell the cook this is low-grade dog food." "You'll get nothing and like it." "Nananananananana (Chevy Chase on the putting green)." Among plenty of others that are far funnier than I'm able to post here. A good reminder that Chevy was actually funny at some point in his career (in the era between this and Christmas Vacation).

The quintessential golf comedy. Bill Murray cannot be denied. Ted Knight, Chevy Chase and Rodney Dangerfield are great (who says he can't be a member of the Academy). The film is funny without being completely without merit (as in the badly thought, and poorly realized sequel). I was impressed, and always take a little time to watch it when it's on. The characters are poorly conceived, but the humor makes them palatable. Harold Ramis did quite well with this one. The movie was almost a seventies movie though, and because of that, the viewer must sit through a bad sound track and poorly designed wardrobe. Additionally, the film quality does leave something to be desired, but this one is definitely worth a rent.

It's got to be the lamest storyline around, but it is so hilarious that you can't stop laughing long enough to consider that. Rodney is his usual self, ans he leads this excellently cast movie. Bill Murray is the pits (literally).

What a funny movie with so many great and memorable lines and characters. Ted Knight and Rodney Dangerfield are hysterical and Chevy Chase's humor is so dry and understated that you really have to pay close attention to what he is saying to realize how funny the lines are. But it is Bill Murray who steals the movie in many ways. It's a Cinderella story. A former greenskeeper about to become Masters champion.

A classic comedy from my childhood era. Still love to watch it especially when it comes on unexpectedly on a weekend afternoon and I get to sit around snacking and laughing at all the wacky antics all over again. I will always laugh out loud at the Baby Ruth in the pool, Rodney Dangerfield dancing around the golf course and the antics of Spalding. Ted Knight delivers a career performance. I guess there is not too much to measure his career by unless you count Mary Tyler Moore and his scenes with Monroe in 'Too Close for Comfort'.
