Lame, predictable slapstick that really isn't very funny at all. I find Chris Farley wearing and pathetic rather than funny, and David Spade is totally uninteresting.

I always liked Chris Farley. Never really showed his true potential though.

One of the most re-watchable movies out there, I just never get tired of Tommy Boy. A lot of the great lines in this one have already been mentioned, but I have to throw this one out there: Brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta hug!
lionisthebest 04/12/2007
one of the funniest movies ever

One of the funniest movies ever; along with one of the funniest scenes ever (fat guy in a little coat).

Chris Farley's best movie! This was him at his best comedic performance. David Spade and him were the perfect team.

This is THE BEST comedy and an ode to Chris Farley.

Very funny movie. A success to Spade and Farley.
LanceRoxas 11/19/2004
The story of a rich frat boy who needs to help save the family auto parts business from being bought after his father dies. It's Chris Farley and David Spade at their best. (if you find lame slapstick humor funny) And for anyone who's ever worked in sales it's especially funny.
marilynfan 08/12/2004
fat guy in a little coat that is a very funny movies with one of my favorite actors David Spade every thing with him is funny farley to.

kolby1973 03/16/2004
This movie isn't worth watching if someone gave you the DVD free..assuming it is on DVD already...do not waste your money on this...it is just another idiotic Chris Farley nightmare...
Cosmo Renfro 03/16/2004
I think Farley was one of the funniest guys in the world and this film proves it. The best ones always die too soon...
riker32 11/04/2003
Anything with David Spade is hilarious.
heidikay 08/05/2003
Holy Schnikes!! Very funny movie and definately one of the best. RIP Chris!!! Love ya!!
Redoedo 05/24/2003
Chris Farley at his best. I swear that Farley and Spade's chemistry equates that of Steve Martin and John Candy in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles". This movie really was hilarious and has some scenes that I will never forget (i.e. when he's giving the demonstration with the businessman's model cars). Th deer scene was also hilarious, not to mention the cow-tipping scene. A very funny movie! RIP Chris Farley!
RebelYell1861 04/30/2003
Absolutely hilarious. "Melted globs of chocolate under the dash; that oughtta really up the resale value." "They're covered in a thin candy shell; surprised you didn't know that." hahaha.

Callmetootie is an idiot...ive read too many of her opinions and havent agreed with one. Chris Farley is amazing in this movie. If you cant enjoy it then i really think there is something wrong with you. And David Spade is great. His role is necessary to be the straight man, but he also has the ability to dish out great one-liners.
benfergy 02/02/2002
This really is a funny movie. I don't get tired of watching it.
B.B.Rich 01/12/2002
That John Belushi wannabe Chris Farley couldn't be funny even if he were a ten foot Pole! And this film is no exception. As usual, Chris Farley tries too hard. He's not a natural at anything except attempting self-exploitation... May he RIP, his career will last longer as a legend than it would've had he lived.
hollybug81 05/02/2001
this should be at the top of the list for funny!
callmetootie 04/13/2001
I really, really like Chris Farley, but when you team him up with that idiot, David Spade you don't have the greatest movie ever made. David gets in the way of Chris's extremly great jokes and lines.
joe love 12/24/2000
CHRIS FARLEY'S BEST MAY HE REST IN PEACE. AND THOSE UP THERE WHO VOTED LESS THAN 5 HAVE MENTAL PROBLEMS.
KatieH 11/26/2000
This is my favorite movie of all time. This movie always puts me in a wonderful mood.
tmunoz 10/06/2000
The funniest movie I've ever seen. Spade and Farley's best movie, it's a shame Farley has passed on. A must see.
rocker 10/05/2000
No wonder this movie hit big, it had Chris Farley and that other guy. I like the slapstick humor in this movie. It was good. Too bad no bare women though.
Ruby 09/11/2000
I'm a huge fan of this movie (not physically huge like Chris Farley, but you know what I mean, right?). There's a 15 minute stretch in the middle of it, winding up with Farley/Spade crying while singing along to Superstar (by the Carpenters), which is as good as any comedy I can think of. Chris Farley will definitely be missed.

To add on to a couple more great parts....when Tommy is being Darth Vadar into the fan...'Luke, I am your father'...and to add to when he gets hit with the board, 'it doesn't hurt here or here, but more RIGHT HERE'. Or what about the part when he meets his new step brother and he says, 'brothers don't shake hands, brothers got to hug.' Or when he goes cow tipping, falls and then at the gas station he is dancing around singing, 'I'm a maniac, maniac on the floor, dancing...' This movie is so great. It is my favorite comedy movie. It is tied with Dumb and Dumber. You can watch these two movies over and over. It is so sad he had to die, but at the same time, as crazy as he was, he couldn't have made it too far.

People, people, people, what is going on here?! At the time of this message Tommy Boy is the LAST on this List!! You can't imagine how sad this makes me, never as I was casually scrolling down the page did I expect to see this. Tommy Boy...last in line, (head down as I say that). I was looking for "The Cable Guy" thinking a lot of people think that was a dark comedy and therefore half expected it to be at the end but Tommy Boy, uh this is terrible. Let's just recap a few scenes here shall we? "Did I hear a niner in there" Richard (D. Spade) asking Tommy about the phone number he called. When Tommy loses it in during the sales meeting and smashes the guys toy cars and Spade says as they're leaving "that guy..might not call us" Or in the motel room "Richard whose your favorite little rascal? Alfalfa, or is it Spanky?...sinner" Deer scene, fat guy in a little coat, side of the road fight, then in the restaurant "hey Richard is there a mark on my face?" "nope" "are you sure cause it really hurts right along here" "nope, nothing" Great movie, terrible loss that Farley dying and all but then again did anyone really expect him to last that long.

Deer scene was funny
Munson 11/06/1999
One of the funniest movies of the 90's. The Farley/Spade tandem was unmatched. There are so many memorable lines and great scenes. Chris Farley's death was certainly a tragedy, but he will live forever through this movie.
