I found Father of the Bride to be pretty entertaining. Don't get me wrong, it definitely has it's slower moments, and it has some elements of a romantic comedy. But in general Steve Martin pulls through with a pretty funny movie.

Callmetootie is an idiot. Steve Martin is hilarious, and Martin Short is one fo the great supporting actors in a comedy in this movie. Great cast makes it work.

The remake is okay but the original with Spencer Tracy is better.

A sweet, hilarious movie- too bad Steverino didn't make more like this, and The Jerk, instead of much of his sketch stuff, which is just plain stupid.

Steve Martin proves that he can be annoying in this 1991 remake of a 1956 black and white comedy classic. Him and Diane Keaton look so goofy and so un-ready in their roles as husband and wife, and the humor is totally dull and bland.

This movie is very sweet and realistic (except the Martin Short character!) and it makes me go, "Hey, when can I get married!" A real winner!

I saw "Father of the Bride" when it came out, and I thought it was pretty entertaining. When I saw it again recently, though, I found it slightly nauseating. Everything about it was just "too cute," from the plot to the clothes the actors were wearing. I was even annoyed by the Banks' perfectly decorated home and their wholesome dinner conversations. I found myself wishing that some sort of a disaster would ruin the big day. Of course it didn't, and the movie retained its cuteness from start to finish. I guess I just can't stomach "cute" shows like this anymore.

I loved this movie. It was so funny. I love how Steve Martin does his part in this movie. It is also such a sweet story!

I think that I have to give Father of the Bride a higher rating than it really deserves for more personal reasons than for anything substanicial reasoning. My oldest sister got married when this movie came out and I went and saw it with my dad. It is a cute movie. It is definitely a father daughter movie.

Kind of a silly movie, but Steve Martin is hilarious as the protective father who is having to face the realities of his daughter getting married. The exchanges between Steve Martin and Martin Short (as the eccentric wedding coordinator) are also worth the price of the rental.
