Hagin Jr followed his late father's footsteps (along with protege, Fred Price- Senior Pastor of Chrenshaw Christian Ctr. in Los Angeles Ca.) They greatly helped promote the Faith movement. It seemed as if some people began to make their positive confessions & Faith more important than the object of their Faith (Jesus Christ). I had personal encounters with people following these men who were naming & claiming the wackiest things, such as Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, a Million dollars in the bank, cars, people they did not know but wanted to marry etc. Some of the people in the faith-movement were telling God what they wanted instead of asking Him what He (God) wanted. On the positive, others were uplifted & helped by knowing their new position in Christ. The negatives still outweighed the positives if so many others got confused by this teaching then became self-exalting, greedy or materialistic. The bottom line is this; We were made for Gods good pleasure,Not the other way around. So many people will not be deceived or confused if they start reading the entire Bible for themselves and not act like Cult members following along blindly to what-ever sounds good.

Just a few Scriptures to Support Mandatory Tithing is no longer required because Christ has fulfilled all Laws and requirements of the law by His death on the Cross: Giving to support the Church is Voluntary & in light of what Christ has given us for free Voluntary giving should be
more than 10 percent but if not our favor & blessings is our Legal right & inclusion in our package of Salvation when Jesus is our Lord & Savior

Hagin didn't seek HIM, he sought His abilities.

I do not believe in many of the things taught by Bro. Hagin. I believe he had good intentions and apparently possessed Christian qualities. However, NO ONE ever thinks THEY are the one who is being decieved by Satan. Like tongues, things such as "slain in the spirit" are constantly taken beyond a rare spiritual phenomenon with a purpose and the spotlight on God and put on a pedestal which a certain amount of arrogance with the spotlight on men, such as Hagin himself. We should always inerpret even our experience with the word of God. Jesus himself is God in the flesh and when he touched someone they were filled with the Holy Spirit and healed but never "flew 14 feet" or "fell unconscious" or "convulsed on the ground in the name of God". However, when someone was thrown to the ground in convulsions he was quick to pull the demon out of them. (Mark 9:17-26) This is more than enough to take a second or third look (regardless of your "experience") at not only what scripture says about it but about the nature of every spiritual manefestation God produced. What was it's purpose, when and how did it happen, etc.?
On a second note, i am reminded of history (Acts 5:34-)where A Pharisee basically said to leave them be and if their purpose and activity is of human origin then it will fail, but if it is from God then you will only find yourselves fighting against God.
As for resisobilus' comment below, remember, an unbeliever can't find God for the same reason a thief can't find a cop. Love ya anyways.

1 Timothy 6:5 "...who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain." Actually, read all of 1 Tim. 6 to learn a proper attitude about money. As for the so-called "gospel of prosperity", this verse alone proves it's a big fat lie.

It’s amazing how every single evangelist that has expensive homes, etc is considered to be a scam artist. Just because they have money does not make them a scam artist. The richest institution in the world is the Catholic Church. Churches all across this world are some of the most expensive buildings (more expensive than needed for a gathering place); yet these institutions are not judged by the same standards as an individual. If an individual could put the money given through the ministry to better use, could not the institution do the same? Now, many and most of the institutions (such as the Catholic Church) do many good things with their money. How do we know this? Because it’s boasted. What good things do these individuals do? Not really sure because they don’t boast about it. Yet, we are not supposed to boast about what good deeds we do. They do always give credit to God for what they have and that is right to do. What is comes down to is this, people judge individuals (men and women of God mainly) about what they get and what they got, but never mention or take into consideration to what they do and what they give. People also hold individuals to a different standard to the standard of what they hold institutions to when it comes to money.

I’ve personally never heard these people say you MUST give to their ministries. I’ve heard, “whether you give you your church or another, give”. I’ve even heard things like this, “If you are praying for your house to be paid off, sew a seed and make a house payment for someone else who needs it”. Neither of these is un-scriptural.

On a note: 76% of Americans are in debt of other than home and auto. This means that the majority on here judging these men over the money they have are guilty of greed themselves. The lack of patients for that which you WANT to the extent that you purchase it on loan, then complain about the bill you have in getting that which is NOT NEEDED (boats, TV’s, games, toys, motorcycles, hot rods, larger homes then needed, more expensive cars then needed, etc.). You are willing to loose more of what you don’t have (money) to get things that YOU WANT. Greed is greed and you do not have to have money to have the love of money. The Word says to remove the log from your eye before trying to remove the speck from another.

The Bible was written by Jews, in the eyes of Jews. People interoperate the Bible differently; which is seen by the thousands of denominations across the world. Most denominations were formed from splitting from others due to a disagreement in the meaning of scriptures. Who are you to say your interpretation is perfect? Sometimes their interpretation may be off, but that is why the Bible says for YOU to dig into The Word… YOU are to stay in constant communication with the Father. If you listen and disagree on their translation, keep an open heart and investigate it for yourself and if you still feel they missed it, don’t judge them for it because we ALL miss it!

We are to judge fruits, but if you are one saying that a person is going to Hell then you are trying to take the place of God and you are wrong in doing so. Only God as the right to say who is, or is not going to Hell. Be careful in rating on this site that you are not judging that which we have no authority.

Why are people crucifying others? Are we not supposed to pray for even our enemy and do good to those who do bad to us? Examine your heart and be careful the words you speak.

Kenneth E Hagin, this man has the best balanced teaching available, although he is dead yet by faith he still speaks, the church needs his teachings, the revalations. Christians trying to learn from other authors are just wasting time and money. The bible and Hagin are all the teaching a christian will ever need to have a successful Christian life, and this is because Hagin shows you how to make use of Gods Word like no other teacher!

Not my favorite, but some good teaching.  The man walked in love his whole life even if he did say rediculous things, who are you to judge!  He has already had to answer to God!  Offenses will come, the Bible clearly states, and it is commanded that you not judge and that you love.  Now shut your religious back biting mouths and do as Christ would do, or even Paul for that matter.  Hypocrit believers running their arrogant mouth,....you are the only ones that shut yourself off from recieving.

What's a better barometer of an evangelists mis-message and negative influence than to say that he was largely responsible for Kenneth Copeland's "theology?" To Hagin and his false teachers espousing the health and wealth Gospel, my question will ever remain, "Where are your sufferings and ordeals for the cause of Christ?" How does living in the lap of luxury, wealth, and earthy amenities compare with the conditions Paul endured to bring us the true message to which we have access if we are careful to avoid those who distort the truth.

Great man of faith!

I remember reading one of Hagin's books in 1979(Don't even remember the title), and as I look back, I can't believe the stuff he wrote in that book. The stories he told of his encounters with Jesus, talking face to face with Him, almost like they were school buddies, was absolutely ridiculous. He seemed to have more encounters with the heavenly realm than all of the disciples combined! Beware of this false proph....oh, never mind, he died about 5 years ago

Some critisms of Hagin I think are valid but I find many of the criticisms against Hagin unfair,dishonest or poorly researched.Hagin was healed of some very serious deadly sicknesses when he was about 16 years old. It was an impressive event which was based on his totally trusting God's promise for hearing prayer in the Bible verses found in Mark 11:24,25.He had 5 different doctor's all tell him he would die in his youth from the heart deformity and blood disorders he suffered from .One of the doctors was from the famous Mayo Clinc.They had x-rays of his heart& chest area.The illness had progress over time till he became completely bedfast and paralyzed from the waist down.No one in medical history lived beyond their teens who had this illness.

Many if not all of Hagin's critics over look the testimony and facts about Hagin's healing.I think it also can be well established that many of the people Hagin ministered to in the early years of his ministry were healed as well.

Kenneth Hagin is badly misunderstood individual but on the other hand Kenneth Hagin probably could care less what his critics thought of him. Like he always said "I am not moved by anything except what the Word of God says".

Kenneth will always draw a lot of heat and have a lot of enemies since he is usually consider the father of the faith movement which is almost always so deeply despised by anti-charismatics and by those who think themselves Bible doctrine experts.

I personally think Hagin had several defects. He is unusual though in that I believe he was much more grown in Christ than his enemies and critics realize.

Hagin I believe was deceived by some of the his supernatual experiences and revelations he had but I don't believe all his experiences were false.

Hagin also made a most profound and seemingly dishonest errors in his teaching the Bible says that women could be ministers and teach men.He used outside Bible sources to set aside scriptures like 1 Timothy 2:12 and other such verses.Also he promoted the practice of "slain in the spirit" something the church in the New Testament did not practice and it is not supported by scripture.Charasmatics usually twist scriptures like John falling down before Christ in the book of Revelation and other such rare unusual events to try to support this slain in spirit experience.

A lot of what Hagin taught on faith could easily be misunderstood and abused and greatly bring a bad reputation to it all . I think maybe Hagin himself sometimes went too far with it but again Peter was the only human to ever walk on water because he dared to act on Christ's word even though there was some embarrassment and failure with that experience. What those who think themselves doctrine experts lack is that they don't really seek anything supernatual from God. They think just about all the supernatual God had dried up after the apostles died in the 1st century. Of course they will always say they believe in God's supernatural workings but it's always just theories,ideas ,concepts ,beliefs held in the mind but usless to do anybody any earthly good here and now were we really need it .

Name it claim it Word of Faith garbage. The Bible DOES NOT say what he would have you believe it does. Garbage theology, poor hermeneutics. Stay away from this poison.

Hagin blatantly plagarized E. W. Kenyon's work. Plagarism is stealing so how could he claim to be a Christian? He was just another WOF preacher making a luxurious life for himself off of poor people. If what all these WOF preachers spout about healing is true then why did Hagin die? Doesn't take a genius to figure out that the WOF is nothing but lies and the only people benefitting are the preachers and their families. And the only real benefit for them is money. Papa they have called him.No one else has lifted my faith in Jesus Christ than Kenneth Hagin.Imagine at the age of 17 you are bedridden with no hope but you still trust God.Then you do the impossible and get cured by God from a debilatating blood disease.I wonder how many of Hagin's detractor's have his faith in God. And how many have rocked the world for Jesus? He challenged me with his prayer life.And to even show that he was a true prophet of God his home town, in his last days never experienced crime or health problems as a man of God was in its midst.How many can truly say I did great exploits for God?

Incredible man of God with a fruitful ministry. God has blessed many through Brother Hagin. Sure, he like many others has made some mistakes. This does not tarnish his validity. Brother Hagin is an awsome man of God. For people that think he is not, they have never experienced, nor ever plan to experience the full power of Gods love and mercy. Any one who says that he is out for your money, and involved in a cult is unlearned. Rhema is an excelent place to learn the will of God for your life and learn all aspects of the ministry of Jesus Christ. It is sad to hear people who claim to be Christians say anything negative about Brother Hagin or Rhema. People who live in the flesh day after day and never experience spiritual living. Would never understand, Oral, Hagin, Hinn, Copeland, Meyers, Dollar, Hagee, or any other Word teacher. They find it hard to grasp the principles in their messages because they are quick to judge, and slow to find the truth in Gods word. Kenneth Hagin and his ministry have proven to be the most stable and giving of any I have been involved in. I attribute much of my growth as a Christian to Kenneth Hagin's ministry.

First of all Bro.Hagin is not a t.v. evangelist. He may have appeared on t.v. a few times. He is anointed of God and you don't touch the anointed of God with words or deeds. And you will stand in judgement for the things you say. If you think someone is wrong, then pray that the eyes of there understanding will be enlightened. If you look in the BIBLE you will find faith confessions everywhere.Abraham spoke faith, he called himself the father of many nations Gen.17.Then when God told him to give his son Isaac, Gen.22, he said that he and his son would be back Gen.22:5.Then Issac asked where the lamb for the offering was, and Abraham said God will provide. That speaking faith. Even if we don't have all the answers that is no reason to bash preachers. No they're not all knowing, But God is and He'll take care of it. And living by Faith is a lifestyle, not just trying it. I believe in Doctors God gave them wisdom to help save His people. If you have a medical condition go to the doctor God will meet you at your faith level. And get into the Word of God and make your faith grow . It is a process. And thats how Bro. Hagin preaches it. There will always be people who will have bad things to say about men of God because the devil is here to steal, kill and destroy the works of God . I will stand up for Kenneth E. Hagin against all critics. He is truly a spirit-filled man. My husband went to Rhema Bible College and had him for a few classes. He said it was astounding how wonderfully full of faith he is. He loves the Lord. He was a kind, gentle, humble man who against all odds believes in the power of Jesus Christ. I attend an Evangelical church. I just became born again 2 years ago. I have never met a church body so full of true believers. Non-judgemental, loving, patient people who will help you in your walk with Christ. They truly believe in Miracles and do what God's word says. And what Kenneth E. Hagin teaches and believes is Biblically sound. Speaking in tongues, healing and all. "And these signs will follow those who believe: In MY NAME they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover." Kenneth Hagin is a man of God. He is a faithful servant and annointed man from God. His book the Holy Spirit truly was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

All theism is false. A vestige of humanity's unscientific infancy. People continue to hold on to these beliefs because: 1-They feel good. 2-They give immediate gratification. 3-They offer simplicity in an inescapably complex world. 4-They provide morality and meaning for those who want it given to them instead of finding their own way. 5-It gives them hope. But these are false hopes. Untruth should not be spread as truth, especially when it has caused so much hatred and war and undeserved shame as has religion. All evangelists are causing harm.

Kenneth Hagin is an awesome man of God and Rhema Bible Training Center is the best bible college in the world!!! I am currently a student and he teaches several of my classes. You just can't say anything bad about this man if you get to know him and what he really teaches (not what the critics say he teaches). He is the most loving, humble, meek man I've ever met. I've never seen so many Christ-like qualities possessed by one person. He truly is an example of what a Christian is really suppossed to be.

He is a great teacher/preacher and is heavily scrutinized by critics because he is in the spotlight. Anyone in the spotlight will be criticized by critics, it is inevitable. His teachings are biblical and have had a heavy influence on my life.
