Don't get me wrong. I strongly believe in the healing power of Jesus, and that there are legitimate healing ministries that truly exist. I believe God still works through many Christians to whom He has given these very special gifts -- yes, even to this day, and not just the first century. But I also understand that this is a very delicate issue, and sadly, Benny Hinn (and other similar people) are some of the reason why this matter (or Christianity, in general) isn't taken very seriously by onlookers. And there are other fellow Christians that discredit the entire Pentecostal realm because of a few who may be misusing Spiritual gifts. Therefore, my rating is a two, not to defame Mr. Hinn in any way, but because I know what I know.

Jesus once said, "It would be eaiser for a camel to fight through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven."For those who dont know, benny hinn is a rich man. I suppose he has no plans of getting into heaven. The Roman Catholic church was attacked by Martin Luther when they tried selling forgiveness of sins...It seems like Benny Hinn may be trying to do the same thing...

One of the most bold false prophets of our time. He doesn't preach the gospel, encourages decisionism, has been exposed (by HBO) for charging a family money to pray for them, has been exposed as falsifying testimonies of healing, and has supposedly repented for lying many times only to return to embracing the lie he repented for telling.

Personally, I always get this guy confused with the late English comedian Benny Hill.
And if you watch the attached video, its easy to see why.

I wonder if Benny Hinn, or god can heal all of those seizures people suddenly have when they go on stage after Hinn hits them with "the holy spirit." Ah the things people will do to get on TV.

I didn't really see a huge problem with him until he asked his viewers for 2 million dollars so he could buy a private jet. By their fruits...

This one is below a one star. What about his trinity of trinity doctrine? Father, Son and Holy Ghost each have three parts, which in turn each have three parts. And Hinn aleges that he is in the power of God. He means the power of gosh.

This guy surpasses Joel Osteen for teaching false doctrine, taking peoples' money and could have gotten a university degree in manipulation of the masses. He is unbelievable and as far as I am concerned is a thief and should be avoided at all costs.

This servant of a familiar spirit once told an audience during one of his crusades to set up a fund for a partially blind 8-year boy that had come up on stage. When he announced this, you could just hear the pleasured moanings of the crowd, which no doubt cause them to reach down deep into their pockets when the collection plate came around for perhaps the 50th time. This was a couple years ago and the family of the boy stated during interview that Hinn has sent NOTHING since his promise. For he only did it to entice the crowd to give more than they normally would because of this supposedly act of christian charity. I cannot judge who is going to damnation or eternal life, but unless Hinn repents of his wickedness, there will be quite a collection of charges to answer to God for. NEVER, NEVER send this huckster or any of those TV preachers your hard-earned money. Find a homeless shelter, battered woman's shelter, orphanage, or other needy charity. These con men will try and tell you that you are disobeying God by not sending to their ministry as "He" told them to tell you. Any "voice" telling these wicked men/women to say believers are being disobedient to God by not giving to their ministries, is not a voice from our Lord. They very well may be hearing a voice, but of a familiar spirit. God would probably be much more pleased if you would donate your money to the sick, poor, homeless, orphans, or abused women/children in lieu of filling the coffers of these wicked TV preachers and making them rich. Hinn only cares about Hinn! They may all have begun honestly and had a true fire for God, but the lure of riches corrupted them. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

I see Hinn is in the news today, but, really, nothing is new. He's a damn crook, and he has no more power to heal than a dead horse. Hinn, Dollar, and Meyer, they are all money whore false pigs, that do not preach the exclusive Gospel of 1 Cor15:1-4, that is what needs to be preached in this darkening world we live in, not how to get financial gain.

it's so amazing that people fall for this guy..such a fake and a phoney!!
LadyJesusFan77 7 09/10/2007
I agree, there are phonies, and I think it's a disgrace for anyone to use God for their money-making scams. And it's people of this calibur that make it hard for people to believe. But I can tell you, I do believe in the healing miracles of God because I have seen things that only God could have done.
questionable1 09/10/2007
I used to work for a major hotel in a large metropolitan area where Benny Hinn and his bunch of disgraceful phonies stayed during one of their "miracle heal-athon" crusades. None of the folks associated with his organization demonstrated the kind hearted, loving, caring and forgiving characteristics of Christianity. The group was rude, arrogant, demanding, and insisted that they have access to an entire floor of the hotel, exclusive to their group. One evening, one of the groups leaders came to the front desk and insisted that I call for an ambulance. I asked the man about the need for this request, and he informed me that Benny Hinn was suffering from a severe headache. In a very serious and matter of fact manner, I suggested that perhaps Mr. Hinn should take some asprin and HEAL HIMSELF!!!! The ministry is as phony as a three dollar bill, and they plant their audience with scam artists who pretend to have been cured.

Horrific con artist and a sorry excuse for a human being. Using people's illnesses as an angle to make money. This guy is less than human. And let's look at ANOTHER thing that Christ said:
24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders;insomuch that, if it were possible, thay shall deceive the very elect. Matt 24:24
22MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works?
23And I will profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, YOU THAT WORK INIQUITY. Matt 7:22,23
Exactly, judge EVERYTHING using scripture
LionOfJudah 05/04/2007
Judge Everything using scripture...Whose name does Benny Hinn use in doing these signs?...Let's see what Christ said: 15He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Mark 16:15-18

So now Benny Hinn has thrown a hissy fit and threatened to sue Youtube for copyright infringement if they didn't pull every video that mentioned his name, even in passing. This is wrong on so many levels. First off, is his name, Benny Hinn, a copyright? Also, many of the videos pulled had no mention of Mr. Hinn at all but were critical of televangelists in general and so Hinn's attorneys had all those videos thrown off also. So much for freedom of speech. It amazes me that Mr. Hinn has such a high opinion of himself that he threatens a public forum on the internet with lawsuits for daring to be in any way critical of him or of others who share his viewpoints. What is being witnessed here? Is this about God or about Mammon? Or just about Benny Hinn's desire to make himself a major pain in the butt. He has annoyed internet bloggers and he will regret that. For more information google benny hinn and youtube. Mr. Hinn has just made a fool of himself.

A real con job, this guy rips people off and pretends to have divine powers. I wish these jerks were all exposed. When they pretend to cure the ill, they are literally killing people. If I think this guy cures my cancer, I'll stop taking my medical treatment. These jerks make me sick. When people "feel the spirit of the Lord" with guys like this, they are actually only feeling their own neurotransmitters - mostly dopamine. They are high on their own brains and on being conned, and they attribute it to a religious experience. Sad.
Lisadh 04/05/2007
I have had alot of family members and friends really put him down and say that he is a total fake , but I have felt the Holy spirit in many of his crusades maybe is just because of all the people praising the Lord, when he came to portland he was attacked for telling people that they were healed and to stop their medication, and I am just being carefull I dont want to say he is a total fake because God will do the judging .
vickiejared 03/30/2007
This man will have to stand before God and explain why he seems to want to place himself in God's seat. I remember about 15 years ago seeing him blow on people and saying they're healed. I just became so angry and God just reminded me that he has his reward.

The video of Benny Hinn passing a bong to one of the assistants the night of his death on youtube.com may not exactly be accurate, I tend to doubt that their is drug use going on here. This clip maybe nothing more than an after dinner smoke since Hinn travels so much to the Middle East & Israel it probably is quite common and part of the culture to have some puffs of tobacco on one of those water pipes. Looks like they are in a restaurant were they practice that, some of this clip is probably bogus like the reporter's name on the screen. It may even be a Lebanese restaurant here in the USA, Hinn is Lebanese. Any ways Hinn is so high on luxury & wealth why does he want to ruin it with drugs and scandals? One fine gentleman on youtube.com went to a lotof trouble to investigate this matter, his identity is IndependentConserv. If you go to the last page on the comments section on youtube.com about the BennyHinn bong deal you will read in his comments the following: "I contacted reporter Tony Pipitone. The man mentioned in the video as the reporter who uncovered this. He tells me that he's NEVER done a report on Benny Hinn doing drugs. He has done reports on Hinn, but did not have time to research if he might have actually used this video footage in a report.I think he would be able to remember if this was in fact Hinn passing around dope." "So the video is highlysuspect. He could not confirm he ever shot this video. He said he would have to research if he wanted to confirm, but does not have time to do so.Basically he'snot standing by it at this point. Nobody can confirm this.I'm no fan of Hinn at all and feel he is a terrible heretic, but this video will remain suspect in my eyes till there is more solid confirmation." IndependentConserv continues: "Ifound an article in a search of Orlando Sentinel archives dated 12/2/1998,titled "NIGHTMARE OF HEROIN HITS HINN MINISTRY THE POPULAR ORLANDO-BASEDTELEVANGELIST HAS FOUND HIS ORGANIZATION TOUCHED BY THE DRUG-OVERDOSE DEATH OF A CLOSE CHURCH FRIEND."The free blurb says nothing about Hinn doing dope.It does mention 2 guys in Hinn's ministry died from OD'ing. Cost $4 to read the wholearticle." see Hinn passing the water pipe or bong here on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOd7QHVsJc8&mode=rel ated&searchsee verification 2 guys in Hinn's ministry died from OD'ing here: http://www.pfo.org/nuscandals.htm see also Orlando Sentinel archives

Two Hinn assistants died of heroine overdoses (you can see a hidden camera video on youtube.com showing Hinn passing a bong to one of the assitants the night of his death). Countless followers, having claimed to be healed by Hinn, have died after stopping their medical treatments (NBC Dateline). From www.inplainsite.org: The founder of the Dallas-based Trinity Foundation, Ole E Anthony, whose operatives struck dumpster pay dirt five years ago in south Florida when they found a travel itinerary for Benny Hinn... Hinn's itinerary included first-class tickets on the Concorde from New York to London ($8,850 each) and reservations for presidential suites at pricey European hotels ($2,200 a night). Trinity investigators led to CNN and Dallas Morning News coverage of another Hinn controversy: fund-raising for a $30-million healing center in Dallas that has yet to be built. According to a June article in The Dallas Morning News, shortly after Hinn announced his move to Texas, he said God had told him to build a "World Healing Center," and Hinn appealed for money. As much as $30 million was collected, but the center was never built. In April 2000, he told Trinity Broadcasting Network's Paul Crouch, "I'm putting all the money we have in the ministry to get out there and preach. The day (to build the healing center) will come. "I'm in no hurry; neither is God." In August 2000, a holding company that is a subsidiary of Hinn's ministry began building a "parsonage" -- a $3 million, 7,200-square foot oceanfront home -- in Dana Point, Calif. Nor has Hinn publicly acknowledged his salary, though he told CNN in 1997 that his yearly income including book royalties was somewhere between $500,000 and $1 million. A spokesman has said Hinn generates about $60 million a year in donations. (The Sun Herald. Posted on Fri, May. 17, 2002). Since February of 2001, the Hinn Web site has been soliciting donations for a new orphanage to be built in this little town outside Mexico City saying it would be finished soon. But when we checked in Mexico, more than a year-and-a-half later, we could find no sign of any construction. But the Hinn web site kept promising that construction would be finished in, a few short months. That was news to the local official in charge of construction in the town, who told us the Hinn ministry hadnt even been issued a building permit yet. The Hinn Web site continued to solicit donations. (NBC News, Dec. 27, 2002).

Got to have gold now!
Benny's office at his church contains pictures of himself with George Bush and John Paul II. It was Hinn who arranged for Paul and Jan Crouch to meet with the Pope. Here is Mike Thomas's impression of a visit with Hinn:
He looks like a Ralph Lauren advertisement, a true gentleman of leisure. As always, his hair is sprayed solidly in place. "I don't know if you'll ever [again] see a reverend without socks," he says proudly. [He's wearing no socks.] "That's the way I am. I'm more down to earth than most people."
This comes from a man who just turned in his Mercedes for a Jaguar and recently moved from the exclusive Heathrow development to the even more exclusive Alaqua, where he now lives in a $685,000 home. His suits are tailored, his shoes are Italian leather, and his wrists and finger glitter with gold and diamonds ... what he considers a modest lifestyle, as if everyone lives like this.
He wears his diamond Rolex, diamond rings, gold bracelet and custom suits for all to see. ..."What's the big deal, for goodness sake?" he says. "What am I supposed to do, drive a Honda? ...That's not in the Bible. ... I'm sick and tired about hearing about streets of gold [in heaven]. I don't need gold in heaven. I got to have it now."

Somebody should tell Benny that Nehru jackets went out about 35 years ago. I remember; I used to sell them. But when you pay thousands to have tailored suits made for you, I guess you can get whatever you want. I think he really believes it makes him look authoritative; in reality, it only makes him look outdated. I saw a clip on him once where the interviewer tried to approach him and was warded off by several security bulldogs that surround him wherever he goes. My question is, "Why would you need security forces if you were doing good deeds and preaching the true Word?" Then again, why would ANYONE think they need to live in mansions, be driven in limousines, and stay at the best accommodations money can afford? Apparently, Christ had it all wrong. He never had personal attendants, didn't surround Himself with lavish amenities, and really cared about the people with whom He interacted. Why is it that people like Hinn can make great professions of faith, then live exactly opposite of the way Christ conducted himself? Talk about giving Christians a bad name.
AlanLovesDevon 02/27/2007
Probably the worst of them all.
Bo777 02/24/2007
I just have one question. If Benny Hinn or for that matter any of these TV Preachers REALLY had the power to heal people, wouldn't they be walking the aisles of cancer wards instead of playing to packed houses where the name of the game is to pass the plate? Something to think about.
SweetDee 02/18/2007
Over on Youtube, you can view many damaging clips on hinn, on his lavish lifestyle, his outrageous display of slapping people with his suit jacket, his calculated attempts to get only select people-usually people with ailments of which their alledged "healings" are easily the result of adrenaline rushes or euphoria-on stage at his crusades, his failed "healings" where the people who claimed thay were healed later died of the same ailment, his passing a bong to a ministry team member, and the numerous offering buckets that are passed around at each crusade, even clips of people counting the boat load of money backstage. Suprisingly though, you will see comments on the clips from people defending this fraud. Reminds me of sheep being led to the slaughter
