A favorite of mine too. Subtle, joyous and full of redemption and transformation. A magnificent movie.

One of my favorite movies. It shows some hilariously awful Danish cuisine, until you get to the good part, which is good indeed. It's a movie about how love and gratitude can transform others, even those who are hypocrites about their own supposed love and gratitude: and even the teetotalers are totalled at the close. Gorgeous, gorgeous film. The character I identify with is the military man who comes back to the town after a long career, his youthful naiveté replaced with worldly sophistication and wisdom.

A movie about goodness, something we need more of nowadays.

I loved Babette's feast- a story of passion and love. The story is beautiful - simple and complex all at once. A must see for people who like feel-good movies

This is the way food is supposed to be done. Like Water for Chocolate could learn something here.

A joyous heart-warming Oscar winner ,with special appeal for lovers of delicious food! In the 1870's,in Denmark's bleak wintry Jutland peninsula,a French refugee servant of 2 elderly spinsters surprises her austere religious friends (who are unaware she was once a renowned Parisian chef!) with the gift of a sumptuous feast. As sensitively crafted as the culinary fare on display, and glowing with a magical spirit of generosity and love.

One of my favorites. A movie about what's really worthwhile in all our lives without ever getting preachy or heavy-handed. Really wonderful.

This is a brilliant movie, both in direction and artistic value. It shows how art can be the ultimate gift of oneself and how art knows no boundaries - culturally, religiously or socially.
