Excellent film. Based on a true story. I saw a follow-up documentary about the main character and it was heart wrenching how long he had to wait to be allowed to live his life to his full potential. Well recommended.

A good movie. A true story about a man named Christy who has cerebal palsy. At first no one knows what Christy is capable of.he does not talk and cannot walk, he has to be carried everywhere. when he is around 7 or 8 he proves he is capable of a lot when he prints out "mother" with his left foot with some soot on the floor. from then on they get Christy all the help he needs. He goes on to be an artist drawing pictures with his left foot.Daniel Day Lewis does a nice job as Christy as an adult. also the little boy who plays Christy as a child does a very good job. This movie was better than I thought it would be.

Another very good movie. Brenda Fricker and Daniel Day Lewis are both remarkable in this truly inspirational story. A little stodginess in some of the writing is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Excellent film, incredible story of triumph and overcoming just unbelieveable odds. So many uplifting and inspiring moments. It's one of those films where (and I know a lot of films have these but I'm still going to note it) this guy is pushed down and pushed around and seen as nothing for so long and then he's starts coming around and becomes recognized for the skill he has and you just feel really good. When his father carries him into the pub for a beer I think I saw my friend shed a tear (he's kind of a Sally).
