Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 3

Fuck the movie, I just love it when he tells Kirk that he just reupholstered his Captain's chair using rich Corinthian leather.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

An awesome movie but the ending sucked. What sucked was Spock's death. I know that he came back to life in Star Trek III but I still didn't like his death.
After Kirk does battle with Khan, Spock saves the enterprise but at a cost. Radiation kills him. Kirk gets choked up as he gives Spock's eulogy. Spock's body is then shot out of the Enterprise and lands on the surface of the planet called Genesis.
When Captain Kirk died in Star Trek:Generations, many fans sent death threats to Malcolm McDowell. They did this because he played as Soran and was the one resposible for Kirk's death. I wonder if Ricardo Montalban received death threats for being responsible for Spock's death.
If you like Science fiction movies, buy this one. I give it a 5 star rating.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

Perhaps the best of the whole movie collection, it is more than just a parody of the TV series and has a compelling story with excellent acting by Montalban. The most credible of all Star Trek movies.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 1

The best of the Star Trek movies. The rest don't even deserve one star.

When I saw Ricardo Montalban in this I kept waiting for Tattoo to run in yelling "Boss, Boss, ze starship, ze starship."

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

This is of course a sequel to Space Seed from the original Star Trek series. In that episode, Kirk and the Enterprise gang find a derelict ship with superhuman survivors in hibernation. These survivors are revived and they take over the Enterprise for a bit, but the intrepid Kirk gets the upper hand and places them on a primitive planet. Richardo Montalban is the head superhuman, Khan.

In this movie, Chekhov is on an expedition and, to make a long story short, lands on the same planet to which Khan and the group were banished. Khan of course takes over that ship and then uses it almost to destroy Kirk and the Enterprise. The wily Kirk outfoxes Khan due to Kirk's inexperience. Kirk also meets his natural son and that is a whole new story.

I watched Star Trek, the TV series, as a child and credit it with the beginning of my life-long love of sci-fi.  This one brought back the excitement and nail biting intensity!.. lol  The best of the best.

Seamless addition to the original series by continuing the past origins with contemporary film techniques. Arguably the strongest film of all the 10 thus far, Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan set an undeniable precident for adherance to the original, superb acting, and multi-syllabic language in a world fraught with single syllable movies.

This movie is good, especially how Kirk out smarts the superhuman Kahn. Kahn is a funny character. He is smart, has a sense of humour and is controlling.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

If not the best than at least one of the best Trek films. At least in this one they took an episode from the series and did some thing creative with it. I may like this one so much because the first one was so bad. Great casting and a superb story. Mr Montaban made the movie.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 4

KHAAAAAAAAAAAN! Totally 80's above-average sci-fi. I love a hot-vulcan Kirstie Alley, the over-acting William Shatner, and the always-entertaining Ricardo Montalbon. Trust me, it is a complete exercise in over-acting. A total dreadful pleasure but still watchable sci-fi. . .And watching Spock get his ticket punched is kinda sad.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

Easily the best Star Trek film for all the obvious reasons. For me the best part of that movie was the interplay between Kirk and Khan. They chew the scenery with a side of ham to the point of camp and despite that the dialogue they share is the highlight of the movie. Khan...I'm....LAUGHING atthesuperiorintellect.

Several Trek movies have been bad, but not this one. I'd watch this if it had nothing to do with the series at all. Ricardo Mantalban drives this movie.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 4

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (released in 1982) is clearly the best of the Star Trek films which star the cast from the original television series (eg William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and DeForest Kelley). While the film suffers from weak dialogue at times, for the most part the screenplay is tight and effective. One comment describes the plot as Shakespearean, and I think that is a fair assessment as the direction from Nicholas Meyer of Star Trek II relies more on plot and intrigue (ie more guns, speed and color) rather than grandiose concepts and extended scenes that were often used for the preceding Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) (ie Star Trek I unsuccessfully tried to recreate the feel of 2001: A Space Odyssey.) Moreover, the acting was improved and the tie-in with an episode of the original TV series provided an interesting twist (though the movie easily stands on its own). As others have also noted, Ricardo Montalban's portrayal of Kahn is the glue that holds all the pieces together and also serves to keep Shatner's excesses to a minimum. The bottom line is that Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is well written, cast, and enjoyable to both science fiction purists and the casual viewer.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

Hands down, the best Star Trek film, and an outstanding sci-fi film in it's own right. Ricardo Montalban plays one of the very BEST villans I have ever seen on film; he's that good. This is recommended to everyone, not just Star Trek fans. (I wouldn't say that about the bulk of Star Trek material).

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

The best Star Trek movie ever made. This film re-introduces Kirk to an enemy from his past (and the original series as well). Ricardo Montalban plays his role as the insane Khan excellently. William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are in surprisingly good form, and supported by the usual cast. If you are not a trekie, this is the movie you want to see. If you are a trekie, this should be your favorite. Unlike most Star Trek films, and episodes, this film actually has battle scenes, and is rather entertaining.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

A great movie on many levels. First, a wonderful movie. Then, a wonderful Trek movie. The pacing is great. You really undertand WHY Kirk is the captain. His tactics are fantastic. Khan makes a great villain. This is a movie about conflict between the old and the young, fathers and sons, fear of death, growing old, friendship, new beginnings, the blood and guts of war, loss, good vs. evil. The special effects were ahead of their time. There is a distinct Biblical reference, and Milton's Paradise Lost is clearly evident: the Genesis device, Kirk and Carol in the garden of Eden, Kirk eating the apple, and Kirk as Jesus & Khan as Satan marshalling their forces and duking it out. When they fight in the nebula, and whn the Enterprise is at red alert, the blood-red backlight is reminiscent of Hell's fire. High adventure, suspense, and an epic sweep. What is stunning is Montalban, Nimoy, and Shatner's skill at taking their acting to the big screen. The TNG cast never could do that well.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

This review is for the DVD directors cut edition. Yes, it's a good movie. Nicholas Meyer who directed this sequel wanted to give the movie a "naval" feel and it works well. James Horner's score reinforces that nautical feel, notably when the Enterprise is clearing the moorings. The movie flows well, and with the possible exception of the "Genesis Cave" the effects are great. This director cuts adds some scenes and dialog, notably we discover Scotty's nephew is a crew member aboard the ship. William Shatner's portrayal of Kirk is probably one his best performances (if you listen to the DVD commentary, director Meyer discusses he would make Shatner do each take about 10 times so he'd lose the Hollywood swagger). With the loss of Spock however the movie does end on a somber note. But this is still one of the best Trek movies to grace the screen.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

One of the best Trek movies, starting a quasi-trilogy in a story that continues into movies 3 and 4 (though # 4 is dominated by another plot). Good action. decent acting, high drama, nice fx, and a great score by James Horner.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

This is simply one of the best Star Trek movies ever. Kirk and crew fight an old foe from the past who takes Chekov and his captain hostage and steal a Federation starship on a quest to steal a device that can transform planets, and, of course, revenge against James T. Kirk. The battle sequences are tense and action-packed. The emotional scenes pack a punch and the spacedock scenes are beautiful, as usual. And, the ending is shocking, to say the least. Highly recommended for all!

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 5

The Greatest Sci-Fi movie ever made. A classic Shakespearian story to a futurisic theme. It is the 23rd century. Khan Noonian Sihn, a geneticly engineered dictator from 1996 seeks revenge against a starfleet Captain and a Universe that betrayed him 15 years ago. With a weapon of unbelievable power, the Genesis device, the crew of a starship, and a hiding science team at stake, including Kirk's alienated son, Kirk must overcome all odds, and defeat an arch nemesis he thought he had left behind. Riccardo Montalban was great, no one else could have played the part. Leonard Nimoy was also great, when Spock died, it touched every Star Trek fan. Everyone must see this great movie.

It's pretty funny to see Ricardo Montalban battling with William Shatner. Which one is the cheesiest? Still, this is one of the best Star Trek movies in the series. Die-hard Star Trek fans can appreciate the tie-in with a classic episode of the TV series.
