Could have been much better, it is well directed, has very good FX, and is well acted, contrary to what some people says about this. The problem is that the story of the Nexus sounds more like fantasy than sci-fi and how Kirk is killed in that ridiculous way!! What the writers where thinking, why could´nt have been more heroic, more honorable, a death worth of James Kirk? This only matter degrades the movie enormously. It was good to see Kirk and Picard together, but in some parts Picard looses points when he is compared with Kirk. Malcom McDowell makes Soran a very good villain, his lines of `...time is a predator' at the Enterprise's lounge and on the Veridian planet are terrific and makes you think about it a lot. The short fight between Enterprise and klingons is good also. Generations is not that bad, its sin is that it could have been the best of all with the idea of the two captains together, but finally it is non memorable. Anyway, it is far superior than V and Insurrection.checkout my new Secret Room >> http://shortub.co.cc

This film was ok but I didn't like it when Captain Kirk died. Believe it or not, my brother foresaw Kirk's death. At first he thought that Kirk died in Star Trek VI. He thought that because he saw Kirk being shot with a faser on the previews. But what my brother didn't realize at the time was that it was a shape shifter disguised as Kirk who got shot. But after we watched this movie, he said that they would kill Kirk and he was right. Malcolm McDowell starred as Soran and fans sent him death threats because Soran was responsible for Kirk's death. Captain Picard convinced Kirk to go with him to stop Soran. At first Kirk said no. But Picard finally convinced him to help.Soran had a missile that would cause two million people to die. When Kirk and Picard arrived, Soran used a remote control to make his missile disappear. Kirk got the remote control and turned the missile visible again. Sadly though, this caused Kirk to have a terrible fall.Picard set Soran's missile to blow up on the launching pad. Soran was going to try to reset the missile's controls but he was too late. The missile exploded and killed him.Picard then talked to dying Kirk for a moment. He assured Kirk that they did make a difference. Kirk said it was fun and then he died. Picard then buried Captain Kirk.Watching Kirk die was unpleasant. I give this movie a 3 star rating.

I actually thought this was a pretty good film. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to sneeze at. 3 and a half stars

I'm not really a Trekkie, but I liked this movie. It ties both the original series and The Next Generation and adds some zest to some of the characters. Nothing about the plot seemed dull, boring, or ridiculous. In my opinion it's the best Star Trek movie I have seen.

A pretty good movie. I enjoyed it. I wish William Shattner wouldn't be in it (he is probably the worst actor ever) but overall a good movie. I loved the crash landing of the Enterprise and Whoopi Goldberg's Character Guinan is just so fascinating, just her performance is worth the money.

This would have to be my favourate Star Trek TNG movies. The music, especially when Picard was entering into the nexus was beautiful, and I would love to go into this nexus where all my desires were fulfilled! That movie reminded me of Heaven (the nexus) a bit. Plus the story line was good. The meeting between Picard and Kirk was interesting. At least Kirk could defeat Soren which was good!

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie. I found the plot to be solid (well, at least as solid as a Star Trek movie can be) and the action was good. I enjoyed seeing Kirk and Picard working together to stop the evil Soren, who is collapsing stars in an attempt to gain access to a mysterious ribbon of energy called the Nexus. Comedic relief is provided when Data installs an emotion chip so he could be more "human". All in all, this was a pretty good Star Trek film. Of course it pales in comparison to its predacessors, but for TNG, its good.

To me, this is the very best of all the Star Trek films. You have Kirk and Picard fighting side by side via the Nexus, an energy band that can make all your dreams a reality. Unfortunately, the villain, played by Malcolm McDowell, is willing to blow up entire starsystems in order to get back to the Nexus. Another plotline includes Data getting a chip installed that gives him human feelings. He has some very funny moments in the film.

The middle part of what I call the "Passing the Torch" trilogy (6,7,8), doesn't really have a lot of sense to it. It tries to upstage a certain similar event in Trek3 and fails. Still, a nicely done Trek movie that goes by so fast, you're left thinking, "That's all?!" And they cram a lot of fun Trek stuff in those 100 minutes!

Although slightly inferior to Treks 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9, this one is still good. It brings the TOS and TNG crews together, shows us the missing link in the Enterprises (the B, Excelsior-class) and the origin of Guinan. Also, TNG foes Lursa and B'etor are brought back as the enemies. With emotions from Data, saucer seperation, time travel, the TNG theme, other Starfleet ships, and cool new sets, this one has many great touches. As with all Trek movies, this one comes highly recommended.

Famous cast, famous sci-fi combines a drama and real class acting from both trek legends!

Gotta be a Trekkie to love it. I did _like_ it.
