I had my first tattoo done by Fatty. One of the coolest persons I have ever met. I was extremely happy with my tattoo and I am definitely going back to Fatty to get my second.

I shopped around for the right tattoo place for about 6 months. I had designed my own... but I liked what I saw at Fatty's. Gilda did my ink and she was fabulous. Very professional, on the quiet side (which is appreciated considering she's plying me with a needle). A bit more expensive that I had anticipated (from previous experiences), but the quality was worth it. Healed in half the time all my other tattoos did (done in MN and WI). Highly recommended! Next one, I'm totally going to have someone there design it for me.

I was very disappointed with the customer service at Fatty's. Fatty was uninterested in the design and details of my specifications for my tattoo. After showing him exactly what I wanted, he proceeded to trace a commercial copy of the character and present it as an original peice. I would not recommend him under any circumstances. Avoid this place AT ALL COST!!!! He is not a real artist he is a real racist!

I just had my first sitting for my half sleeve at Fatty's; I am thrilled with the quality of the work so far, and my dealings with Fatty's have been nothing but positive. Steve Labofish is the artist who is doing my sleeve, but both he and Fatty have really impressive portfolios across a variety of art styles. Steve was very helpful in helping me work out a design and is very talented as both an artist and a craftsman. Everyone there is also very friendly and professional. Fatty's is probably not right for you if you want bargain basement prices, or custom work done in a hurry (both artists seem to keep pretty busy) -- but if you want cheap & quick, you should probably reconsider why you want to get tattooed!

I shopped around for about a year for the right tattoo place in DC and Northern Virginia. Fatty isn't cheap, but you really do get what you pay for. His artistry is fantastic, he's creative and really asks good questions to help you get the tattoo you want. Other people like Jinxproof better, and in my mind that and Keepsake in Arlington are the only other decent tattoo shops in the area. The thing about Jinxproof was that I went in there on two occasions and talked to two artists, and both were more interested in saying what *couldn't* be done than in helping me figure out what I wanted. Fatty's a better artist anyway: the proof is that my tattoos healed twice as fast from his quarter sleeve work than from the little one I got on my back at Jinxproof a few years back. Again, other people may disagree - shop around and talk to the artists before you buy, kids!
