My favorite of the early Hitchcock films. Exciting all the way with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Donat does a fine job playing the man on the run from the law trying to track down the real killer. Great film if you are a fan of mystery, suspense, or Hitchcock.

Even allowing for the recent relative neglect of Hitchcock's British films(compared to some of the ever more acclaimed later American masterpieces),i'm still a bit disappointed this doesn't have the higher rating it deserves. Its characteristic Hitchcock theme of the innocent man who finds himself on the run then embroiled with a spy ring is most reminiscent of North by North West, and it's almost as enjoyable- loaded with the maestro's usual cinematic flair,a typically brilliant mix of humour and suspense, and at times surprisingly sexy for the period.Of course Hitch was always fond of a tease. It's my (and many others')personal favourite pre-war British classic.

This is a delightful film! From the sheer horror of the death in Hannay's flat, to the comic exchange where Robert Donat says "For all you know I might murder a woman a week!", and chilling bit when one character holds up his truncated finger, these make up a compendium of Hitchcock "touches" to please his many fans.

As a fan of early Hitchcock, this is one of his best. Though it may be a bit rough in places, it has all the camera angles, the snappy dialoge, and the great suspense that made Hitchcock famous. A great flick.

As good as the book... My favorite bit of editing is the jump from the scene where the body is found to the train.
