The story was old, tired and predictable. And it was almost torture to have to sit and look at Tom Cruise and his pompous, egotistical character through the whole thing. I knew everything that was going to happen before it happened. The idea of Tom Cruise playing the part of a hot, studly fighter pilot was laughable. The only reason I watched this was because I loved the flying scenes and the music.
