The original series was cancelled by BBC because of low ratings and high cost, but it was still brilliant. Black Adder the Third was my favorite, but by Black Adder Goes Forth it was starting to wear a bit thin and they were recycling old bits. Still, all of them were great.

I'm not sure cancelled is fair. I think they ended the series deliberately. That being said, it was brilliantly, scatalogically hilarious.
