The part that Danny DeVito played fit him like a glove. Seems to me that this is almost the only type of part that he plays. It would be strange to see him play somebody that's actually nice.

Childhood classic. I can't think of any kid who would not want to be Matilda in this movie; to be treated like dirt for most of your life and then finally be able to get even. To this day the Trenchbolt lady still freaks me out.

I really liked this movie and thought that Miss Honey and Matilda both were adorable. I think that all kids old enough to understand this film will enjoy it, because Matilda is able to get some sweet revenge on her rotton parents (played by Rhea Pearlman and Danny Devito) and the god-awful principal of her school.

Kids should really like this one, especially when the mean teacher and parents get what's coming to them. I enjoyed it for the most part, mainly because the little girl is so appealing, and real-life husband and wife Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman are a hoot to watch as the parents. You'll probably be rolling your eyes at some scenes, mainly because they are very unrealistic, but it should keep the kids quiet for an hour and a half.

I liked it. It's not The Godfather or anything (of course), but it's still an entertaining, heart-warming story of an out-of-place little girl. Certainly not a waste of time if you see it, which I recommend you do. It sometimes DOES lean towards a "piece of crap", but it's not bad. Summary: A FILM THAT IS HEART-WARMING AND ENTERTAINING, ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES LEANS TOWARDS THE SIDE OF "A PIECE OF CRAP".

I enjoyed this movie about a special little girl. Matilda lives with her awful family that ignores her.Matilda is very intelligent and took herself to the library when she was only four, she was a brilliant child who ends up at this school headed by a horrible principal. She is lucky enough to have a wonderful teacher.{the first person who was kind to her}Matilda finds out she has magical powers to make things move with her mind. Matilda helps her teacher to get rid of the horrible principal {who is also the teachers aunt} at then end Matilda gets to live with the teacher and of course lives happily ever after. Matlilda is well played by Mara Wilson.Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are both good as her awful parents. A good family movie.

Roald Dahl has written some great books, that were all turned into movies. First there was Willy Wonka, a pure classic. Then there was James and The Giant Peach, a great movie. Now comes Matilda, a piece of pure trash. I hated the girl in this movie. She is so annoying and such a weasel.

I was very disappointed that the film did not follow the book, it lost Roald Dahl's magic touch, same with The Witches.

This little girl is a great actor. She is so cute. She has magic powers that help her get out of her bad home and school life. She has a positive attitude through all the bad situations she was born into. It is very cute. It is a great movie for little kids to see.
