It's not what it used to be years ago. I remember when they actually listed every channel and program and even told a line or two about the plot of the show and who the stars were. Now we have NO daytime shows listed at all. I would like to know who will be guests on daytime shows, not just late night TV. The current format is not horrible, but it sure isn't what it used to be.

the only reason we have TV Guide right now is last year they offered to us at 25cents an issue. We have had it for about 11 months now and really I am not all that impressed with it. they have changed it a lot even over the time we have had it. Instead of starting on saturday now it begins on sunday. it is nothing like it was a few years ago. It is not horrible, but I will not subscribe to it again. not worth it.

What idiot is in charge of the new TV Guide? The most complete source of TV listings is NO MORE. The publication has become so disorganized and chopped up it's unreadable. Weekday grids...as pointed out by DreamComeTrue...various programs tells us that we no longer need TV Guide !!! Programming from 11pm-7am has been dropped, except for an abortion of a grid with a selection of a few channels that runs from 11pm-2am. So basically NO LISTINGS from 11pm-7am. Then you have prime-time grids from 7pm-11pm AND a duplication of those listings in the columns! Hello!!! And the grids...what a mess. Wouldn't you think that they'd run a channel across 2 pages from 7-11pm; NO, that would make it easier to read, so let's chop up the listings some more. My blood pressure is climbing...TV Guide will be getting my cancellation notice very soon. I never thought the day would come when I'd have to resort to awaiting the TV section in the Sunday newspaper, but...never say never. Bruce Pettus

Has anyone noticed TV Guide's new makeover?? They seem to be slipping it in quietly without anyone protesting. Is everyone totally oblivious to the fact that, over the last few months, TV Guide has reduced its coverage of the TV schedule from 24 hours a day to only FOUR hours a day??? First, the magazine has removed ALL coverage from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. Bad news for night owls. Coverage from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. has been reduced to a puny grid with a dozen or so channels. Want to know who's on Leno or Letterman tonight? You're out of luck. Daytime from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday has been lumped into one single grid for a while now. We can look at it and learn that A&E has on various programs from Monday though Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Gee, I really needed TV Guide to tell me that. Is everyone asleep out there?! This magazine has reduced its coverage of the TV schedule by 80% this year! Is anyone going to complain? Can they rerally get away with this? Boy, are they leaving themselves wide open for a competitor to jump in! I hope one does.

Why is it that a TV magazine would endlessly promote theatrical movies? Is there a lack of tv shows, tv channels, and actors that I wasn't aware of? What happened here? I never considered myself a fan of TV Guide, but I when see it for sale there is always a glurge on the cover promoting film actors or movies. Calling your magazine TV Guide and promoting movies is like having a magazine called Book Lover and write about music.

It used to be my favorite magazine but in recent years they've added more gossip, and talk about theatrical movies that have nothing to do with TV. They added a horoscope page. If they're going to have a horoscope page then they should have a page on religious TV. But, one thing has gotten better - they used to always have a cigarette ad on the back cover and I would tear that off, now they don't do that as much.

In recent years, it has become involved in politics - left-wing, of course. Also, it's so full of advertisements that it's hard to find what you want, and it's got all those stiff cardboard inserts that make it a chore sometimes just to turn the pages. I'd love to go back to the low-price little magazine that simply listed TV shows, the way it did when I was a kid.

Why should I pay $1.99 (or whatever it costs now) for articles telling me all about TV shows and movie stuff that I have zero interest in? I'll read the newspaper listings or TV Guide Online to find out what's on TV.

Ugleee. Too expensive for what it offers. Sometimes gets shows wrong. Designed in a way that makes it hard to read and boring to look at. Needs a makeover.

TV Guide used to be a really good magazine. It used to have good features like the top 100 movies and Tv shows, but today the magazine is so filled up, that you can get lost in it. It's so hard to keep track of what's on and what's going on in the entertainment world.

TV Guide used to be one of my favorite weeklies but something happened after Murdoch took over. Firstly the price, anywhere from $1.99 to $2.49. Some weeks have four different covers and they expect us to buy them all? Also there seems to be less and less cover stories about tv. Why was Anthony Hopkins on the cover? Why a story about "Hanibal"? Also there seems to be only program details of primetime shows, once 11pm comes along the episodes are potluck. There should alsobe more grids, not just prime time. With so many stations listed it is impossible to find anything. I've been buyimg TV Guide since the '50s and the fun seems to be missing now. It needs its own identity so people won't just want newspaper throwaways. AND LOWER THE PRICE!

I can't imagine life without TV Guide. Has sold more copies than any other magazine. Shows what's coming on. Along with some reviews, and some special topics. It's a great mag.

TV Guide is just that- a guide of all that is on TV with a detailed list of showtimes and short summaries of movies playing during the week. It is not that interesting outside of that. This is why it gets a 3. If you want to know when something is playing, TV Guide is for you. Anything else you should try Entertainment Weekly or some other magazines.

Because my house doesn't have cable I don't get the TV guide channel. We greatly depend on this magazine. I never have to buy it because my brothers do. I follow the schedule to see what's on.

Urgh. There is nothing to be said about it... why pay extra money for a little booklet you end up tossing anyway, when you can turn on the TV and there it is? Come on... whatever.

I guess it should have more explanation about what kind of program it is. It needs more color pages, at least for some more big events of each category.

I really need this for my family so we can find TV shows and see what time they come on. My dad really knows about that magazine. Everybody in the house uses it.

It helps to find out what's on during the week. Good source for TV listings. The ratings also help you know if shows are suitable for children to watch. It also gives descriptions of what shows/movies are about.

This magazine isn't that great. It offers the same thing that a newspaper would offer, but smaller. This magazine needs to offer local channels, and not just worldwide.

Easy to read listings. Good informative articles. Easy, entertaining reading. It gives great insight on all our favorite shows, and why or why not we shouldn't watch.

A necessity in life. Not so much as it used to be. It should turn towards TV stars and have stories on them. They have a channel now so you really don't need it.

I used to love reading TV Guide, concise yet entertaining articles. I also loved the crossword, I can definitely complete an entire crossword puzzle that is based on entertainment and pop culture. But, I don't get it anymore..it is a bit pricey for a television guide (that you get free in the newpaper) and the articles are not in depth or breaking news. If you want entertainment magazine, spend your money on Premiere or Entertainment Weekly and use the free tv guide in your paper, it gives you the same info.

Subscribed to this for many years. At first, I only used it to look up the synopsis of upcoming "Simpsons" espisodes, but I've come to enjoy some of the articles. The fact that they give you a nice summary of episodes is great, that way I can see if repeats are running or if I should tune in.

This is a very comprehensive guide to the most popular TV channels. Very clear reviews, about movie titles. It would be nice if they could mention which movies are 'hot' nowadays.
