09/09/2008 | an almost four. I was kind of reluctant to try this magazine i thought it would nothing but fashion. Really there is a lot more too this magazine than that. Yes there are too many fashion ads for my tastes. but there are some good articles that have various subjects. some good interviews are in the magazine. better than I thought it would be. I would still buy them on occasion. just cut back on the fashion ads.

01/23/2005 | For the amount of ads they put in this thing, they should GIVE this magazine away.
Like GQ and the other hip magazines, there are no page numbers on these ads, so you are forced to thumb through them to get to a meaty (depending on your take on Hollywood, sports, politics, etc) article. Once you get there, the articles and photos are good--but getting there is a nightmare!

12/03/2002 | This is the only magazine I read nearly cover-to-cover every month. Excellent, in-depth, *intelligent* articles about everything from politics to entertainment. Beautiful photography. It gives you a full slice of the world we live in.

04/09/2001 | Vanity Fair is too expensive, and it's extremly boring. All they talk about it fashion, and they always focus on like one subject throughout the whole magazine, and there is like 1,000 ads for stupid cars in this thing! Boring!

10/17/2000 | I was shopping the other day and decided to pick up a magazine to read while I was eating lunch. After standing at the magazine rack for about 10 minutes, I kept glancing back at Vanity Fair and decided to grab a copy. I was not disappointed. I can usually flip through a magazine and read the articles that interest me in about 10 minutes, but not with Vanity Fair. I was surprised by all of the in depth articles related to everything from politics to crime stories, entertaiment and health. This is a well rounded magazine with beautiful photography and informative and entertaining articles. I bought that one issue for $3.95..which was worth it, but even better is their subscription price, 12 issues for 12 bucks, I am definitely getting a subscription!

10/11/2000 | About six months ago Vanity Fair just started showing up in my mailbox without any explanation and correctly addressed to me. At first I was like "Vanity Fair, what the heck is the point of this thing?!?" but since then I have discovered two things: 1st, that my mother had gotten me a subscription and just never told me and 2nd, that it's a very entertaining and very well written magazine. I find it's one of those magazines that is large enough to have something for just about everyone. I have read some extremely well done, very interesting and insightful articles in Vanity Fair. I guess there are a lot of Hollywood type articles but there is so much more to be found inside. I think I'll continue my subscription after this gift runs out.

10/26/1999 | I did not give Vanity Fair a 5 because it is literary genius. I actually hate its whole premise - that is, turning politics into a celebrity issue and turning celebrities into politicians. However, it has astonishing photography and at least tries to do stories on relatively obscure world figures.
