 | India-Ink21 (0) 11/25/2003 | I subscribed for one year. In that time I didn't see one article about someone who needed to lose more than a few lbs. I might be exaggerating a bit, but not much. The exercises are for people who's bodies are almost perfect. A person with actual weight to lose needs to do something more than callisthetics. A waste of money.

 | DonnaSC (0) 01/03/2001 | I didn't want to give this magazine a 5 at first because it does almost fall under the genre of women's magazines which I think are extremely self-destructive for women to read, but Shape is an exception. Its models include real women, of real sizes, talking about real issues. It is also very informative including lots of workout tips that would otherwise be missed.

 | Saga (0) 12/20/2000 | I buy this magazine regularly. I've always enjoyed the different exercises they give. Fun routines to add spice to my own. Their recipes are wonderful and easy. I recently tried a pumpkin soup that was the best dish I've cooked in awhile. But, their content is highly repetitive. Plus, there emphasis seems like it's more on attaining the ideal then being healthy.

 | Angelj (0) 12/19/2000 | Here's the "Shape:" there's one body size that looks good in spandex and a body suit and if you don't look like that than you should take their diet tips and destroy your body until it does look like that. I'm sorry but I'm more interested in health rather than reading something someone wrote, who doesn't know me, telling me I'm not "right."

 | alicat (3) 09/25/2000 | Shape is a great magazine. It has articles for your basic normal woman. It covers a little of everything. It has some fashion and beauty, some fitness, some nutrition, and a lot about mental health. It has a lot of good articles that are interesting. I can read the magazine front to back and enjoy it all. I have been disappointed in the last year or so because every issue seems to have the same information. It has changed a little too and doesn't give as much fitness information as it used to.

 | agol9366et (0) 08/04/2000 | Despite the anorexic looking, overly made up cover models in unnecessary sexual poses, this magazine appears to make an effort to promote healthy body images. The excercise and diet advice is sensible, and the advice columns don't offer suggestions that would hurt more than they would help.

The women in this magazine are pretty, and it doesn't look like you could break them in two. Good nutrition tips. Where are the horoscopes?
