 | Going2Oahu (20) 12/21/2007 | I think the Bachelor is ridiculous - the thought that a woman can fall in love after 2 or 3 weeks while she's sharing a man with 20 other women. This is a stupid show.

 | Mr Evangel (5) 05/17/2005 | This show cracks me up! All these girls fighting over one guy. Talk about heaven! However, the success rate of the relationships are very small. I enjoy watching sometimes.

 | Gentle Jude (23) 04/29/2005 | Just the name turns me off. The name is meant to sound really cool. I don't like the idea of them making it entertainment for girls to be fighting over a boy. If you want perverse entertainment, watch the Jerry Springer show. Usually Jerry Springer is a lot more entertaining! I agree with what someone below said in their comments 'that this show is degrading to women and we have taken a step backwards in uplifting the image of women' (not her exact words.) It is degrading to women, because it makes women look like they are cheap, and they all can't live without their man. They are so desperate, theyll fight over a man. Plus they are materialistic, ware bikinis all the time and love rich men. Not a very good image.

 | JudiRaber (0) 03/11/2005 | I always enjoyed watching this show up until I saw Jen dumping Jerry- my favorite guy on the whole show! Jen is a spoiled little brat who doesn't even know what she wants. She obviously went for looks (which is why she chose Jerry) and then realized last minute that they weren't even compatible. She certainly doesn't know a good thing when she sees it. Jerry has the whole package; the looks, manners and character. Jerry, you may call me anytime!!

 | dylan717 (0) 06/23/2004 | I think the show is great, but the Trish part was set up. I hate to think it is all staged. I like it when is seems more real. It does need to have different part because after a while it is all the same. I hope you can make it as fun as it was in the first shows. Keep them coming they are great, just need a litte change. Change is good....

 | minkey (36) 05/24/2004 | Some people tend to think that Jesse Palmer has picked his future wife. Rest assured, he had no intentions of doing so. He did this for a little extra fame and money. The guy is a good looking NFL quarterback who has had signficant tv exposure. Do you think he's going to settle down now, at 25? I would highly doubt it. The 2 girls that it came down to were the 2 that the network thought would draw the best ratings.

 | Ms.Canada (0) 05/20/2004 | This show was one of my favorites, but now it is turning out to be not so classy. I cannot believe that Jessica was chosen after Tara was totally misled by Jesse. Its Jesse loss if he did not pick Tara. She is such a great girl who is not like the other girls who were all over him. The simple fact she was brought up so well by her parents so guarded just tells you her class. Jesse you have no idea what a great mistake you have made chosen a 21 yr. old student who has nothing to offer to you. Time will tell...you did not make the right choice!

 | msattitude (0) 05/20/2004 | I thought that the way they chose to end this show was shameful and disrespectful to the (losing) girl, Tara. It was awful to show Jessica B watching , what should have been a more classy good-bye, from a window. After all, wasn't Jesse Palmer supposedly falling for both of them at some point?? Shame on you producers for allowing the order of which the ladies get out from the limo to change, to better create the element of surprise. A simple edited earlier on... would have sufficed.

 | sugrbabes22 (0) 05/15/2004 | I love watching the Bachelor! Just I think its getting a little set up. The last episode with Trish was so set up....it was stupid. I know you guys had to put something on the previews to get people's attention but still. I also heard that it was staged for Mandy Jay or whatever about her pagent stuff. That her mom had to take it out of the attic and put it out. I dunno...just a little comment. Maybe make it more real.

 | victory (0) 05/01/2003 | I started following this program when all of the woman showed up the first night. I did not feel taht it was fair to rate or judge before veiwing. As of last nights show, I am so very disappointed that women are flaunted again in such a terrible light. Being a Christian, this is such a demeaning way for both parties to select a mate. What happened to God's plan?? The women are dressed in an inappropiate manner thoughout, they are showing and expressing their desires for material gains, there is gossip, backstabbing and hypocrisy that is unbelievable. He is an attractive man with a monetary means to be able to find someone without displaying himself in such a derogitory manner. What have we come to? I surely hope that this is not the future of our lives or our television programming. This really is a shame. It embarrasses me to be woman. Thank God I waited for the man He choose for me.

 | mikeholly93 (8) 04/23/2003 | A fun reality show to watch which is why i'm shocked that so mant people have a grudge against the show since they gave it terrible ratings. The women are very pretty. However, I will like the next Bachelor to be a man whose name starts with the letter M, maybe a man named Mike, instead of a man whose name start with the letter A like the three bachelors Alex, Aaron, and Andrew.

By the way, I think Charlie on Bachelorette is a cutie pie, and I hope he eventually agrees to be the next Bachelor. P.S. the only TV I watch are a few dating reality shows and the all news channels! It used to ONLY watch the the all news channels. I hate regular TV. Never seen any of the sitcoms or dramas on the air currently. (Except of course Seinfeld--I like this)

What is the diffrent between someone trying to find a compatable mate compared to a murder show ,or a money hungy person eating bugs . I watched all the shows and loved every one of them. Something better to talk about than the war and wondering if we going or not . That's depressing . Im sure if all the negative viewers where wined and dinned they wouldn't say anything . I can't believe the woman who called the woman whores !!!!!. What kind of a mother is she . I know ,she is the kind that thinks what she puts in the toilet doesn't stick hehehehe!!!!! | gussie2000 (0) 02/20/2003 | Being my age, 50, and having gone through relationships, and knowing how hard they are to start and keep going, I want to state that your company makes the ongoing "new" relationship very hard to keep up. You keep these new lovers apart and in the media (Enquirer Mag.for example) when they should have some private time together to build up a fragile relationship without a camera in their face and make the relationship stronger. The only one that has worked out is the one where the girl makes a choice. The guys have now disappeared from their "chosen mates" to others. Obviously the girls are more serious than the guys! I see the guys looking for a nice piece of a--- and the camera in their face.

 | bella1 (0) 11/26/2002 | I admit it, I watched almost the entire show. It was so terrible that I became hooked. However, I will not watch it in the future. Those women should think so much more of themselves then to compete for a guy who seemed to want a girl to fit his resume. That is why he picked Helene isn't it. I mean Brooke -absolutely PERFECT for him. Loving, thoughful, sincere. I could almost feel her genuiness through the TV screen. She seemed like a wonderful and fun person who deserves so much more! In the end he said they were not at the same place in their lives-well, he could have said that from the beginning-she didn't age 6 years since the show started. I think when it came down to it, he really would have loved to be with Brooke, however he needed a girl who would fit his status in life. Oh, and how can a guy kiss a girl who talks through each kiss, if I were a guy that would drive me crazy! Helene seems very fake, very snobby and high maintanence, I think Aaron was very blind, but he'll find out. To all women-treat yourselves better don't demean yourself, love is not a competition-its love!

 | qsm1 (0) 11/21/2002 | I am one of the morons who watched this show to its finale. Apparently, the behind the scenes show must have been dramatically different than what was televised. Why else would a man choose such a high-maintenance, manipulative, fashion nightmare with a laugh that makes you want to jump off a building. At first I thought it was kind of romantic, but I am ashamed to have been part of the viewing audience.

And speaking about Trista, I can't wait for the Bachelorette. Bring it on!!!

I give major kudosto the show for the best ratings grabber ever....it apparently beat the who shot JR episode...why... think about it it was the only one that really was an unpredictable
ending... as much a s we thought we knew it all after all the gimmicks since then on TV
Could she be any less enthused...it was less enthusiam than bagging "the biggest game" during hunting season....any woman who went through this so called "reality" process on national TV shouldhave been screaming, crying. shaking. Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jacksons kiss was more ethusiastic than their kiss...not saying muchnow , HUH!
Cons: the snicker (giddy annoying laugh), the interegating brothers(how trite), bad dressing(my turkey "dressing" is more appealing)

 | BellaLeanne (0) 11/20/2002 | I cannot believe that this is what we have resorted to!? Are these women that desperate that they are all crying over this guy? A guy they literally met 6 weeks ago? These women need a lesson on security and self esteem. I wonder if it would have been the same reaction if the bachelor was a normal guy, making $50,000 a year? Kind of makes you wonder where the morales are and where the gold diggers turned out. ABC should be ashamed of themselves! Are they that troubled for ratings.

 | rosemariepickshelene (0) 11/09/2002 | I must say, a few weeks ago I would not have even bothered to watch "The Bachelor" but I decided to watch the special as I was curious about each of these men and I have wondered how and why they would even consider this avenue to find that special person. After I had watched the interviews I picked Aaron Buerge myself and when it was announced he would be the next bachelor, well, I just had to see how he would handle himself. I want to commend those who choose this young man. I have never been so impressed with anyone as I have been with him. His honestly towards these young lady's and how he has handled each and every situation has been an inspiration. From where I sit as a viewer and based on what we are allowed to see, you couldn't have found a better candidate than this young man.
There is no doubt in my mind that his sole mate and perfect match is Helene. She has impressed me so much with her strength and ability to stand up for herself and say what's on her mind. She has morals and princials and is very concerned about her reputation and the damage all of this publicity could do with regards to her own career should things not work out for them. "Yes, she knew all of the possibilties before hand but probably never dreamed it would go this far". This is why she had been keeping her feelings so guarded. He even mentioned how much he respected and admired her for being so open and honest about her feelings and why she may leave. This is what he is looking for in a women and she is the one who will challenge him and make him happy. The chemistry between these two young people is so obvious. He can see and feel her natural beauty, she's not afraid to laugh at him as well as with him. She's fun and sincere. I admire this young lady and commend her for standing up for herself. "She's nobody's fool"
I had observed Helene's hesitates at a few of the Rose Ceremonies and understood it. When Aaron would ask a question more personal you can tell she is embarrassed and her answers are short and fast. Relationships are hard enough on any couple, add the world watching you. I don't know how any of them have stood the pressure. The camera's are a real problem for her but "when they're alone, she'll have no problem what so ever, expressing herself to him".
She is falling hard for him and wants him for all the right reasons. The last Episode 6 proved to me she's not thinking about the money, or the status. She's for real and has heart. When Aaron meant her family that shed a lot of light on why she is guarded. It all became clear to him being the only girl and having three older brothers plus her career in an elementary school. Aaron has always known the type of women he's looking for and Helene is the one. They are perfect for each other.

 | beetlebug41 (0) 11/09/2002 | While I can not believe I have gotten hooked on this program, I find that I can not get enough of it. However, reality TV? Please, this is as far from reality as I think you can get. Christy said it in a few interviews "It is not like real life, you only have a few days to develope strong feelings for this guy". I would like to see it more like Survivor, where the girls are on teams and have to do challenges for a date. You know, like cooking, cleaning and running arround picking up his cleaning and watching him watch sports while he yells at the TV.

True, she's busty, but if he picked Trista people'd complain because he picked the thin one! The ladies were a lot more wholesome and stable last time, but I'm enjoying these crazy immature gals this go round. I like Brooke, but her accent irks me. | Nephretiti (0) 10/24/2002 | First Weeks episode:
Out of curosity, who is writing this script? I don't mean to sound insulting. This show gives the impression that it is a soap opera, which has been written by a group of writers who had too much to drink. Sorry, not very realistic and what is it with these females that were selected? Their behavior makes me ashamed to be connect to the female race.
Why can't the producer come up with a male who is more reserved and who exhibits more mature behavior. Let's face it, no one cares about some guy and girl having a televised grouping session, in very poor taste. A suggestion try to leave out the groping sessions, and I'm sure that the show will be a success in the long run.
=====
Second Weeks episode:
This show was a little bit better, a little more reserved. Ladies, he is only a man and there is only one of him. Why on earth would any intelligent female wait around for a man? It just doesn't make sense. There is an old saying; women of the show The Bachelor 2. Get down off the Cross, because some else needs the wood. Get over it ladies and learn to lose gracefully, please have some pride and when the party is over walk away, but not hysterically.

What did you expect? IT'S A GAME. I think the reverse version will be much different. It's a commonly held truth that some men can date indefinitely without an emotional investment. That will take away much of the angst we see in the male bachelor setup. There will, I expect, be even more competition among men, whether they're actually interested in her or not. I agree, it's trash TV, but woman cannot live on CNN alone.

 | yeahright (0) 08/18/2002 | I have just seen the second showing of "The Bachelor" with Alex Michel. First, Amanda deserved what she got. The only reason why she increased her bust size was so that it would match her big butt! I give her 5 years before she is a regular heifer. Second, Alex is an loser and only looking for noriaty and a free quick lay, which Amanda so quickly gave. She basically stated in the beginning, "Most people think I am innocent, but in truth, I am very open sexually." Uh, can't tell you are EASY with that statement now can we????? Trista is way too good for Alex and this show just confirms my thoughts that all men are out for sex only with women.

I did catch the last show last night and it didn't surprise me that he would pick either Trista the Miami Heat dancer or Amanda with her boob job. But what did surprise me was that he never proposed to Amanda, he bought the ring but never gave it to her. Is that a sign of where their relationship is going.
