Okay I guess for younger women/girls. Still a lot of emphasis on SEX. Do women/girls really think about sex as much as these mags would have us believe?

This magazine is really great. it talks about everything there is to being a women. not just what goes on in the bedroom. they have in-depth, interesting, and sometimes funny articles that are fun and engrossing to read.

I look forward to getting this fun magazine each month. I love the fashion pages because they show lots of nice clothing that a normal person would wear. There are articles on fitness, sex, women's issues (in America and around the world), and there's also lots of fun stuff, like having two women trade clothing/diets/friends for a week, and see what happens, or "try to match the woman with her boyfriend", or "how many shirts/pants/skirts, etc. in your wardrobe?" (Note: this got me to simplify my life a bit by doing a serious overhaul of my closet). Me and my boyfriend get a real kick out of it.

I got a subscription to this magazine because it was really cheap, but after a few issues I realized that it was really dirty. The majority of the articles deal with sex, cheating, masturbation and other somewhat inappropriate stuff. I feel like it is alright to have one or two articles dealing with these issues, but when the whole magazine deals with associating women with constantly obsessing about men and satisfying them, and performing better in bed, it gets old and irritating really quick.

A friend just gave me her copy of "Marie Claire," and I read it for the first time. Unfortunately, it was pretty much like all of the other women's magazines out there. It was filled with the typical fare- insulting, boring articles such as "How Many Beauty Products Did You Use Today?" and "I Won a Date With a Millionaire." There were a few political articles, though, and one about the plight of women in Africa, and that's the reason I didn't give "Marie Claire" a "1." I thought about it, however, especially when my thumb almost fell off as I leafed through ad after ad searching for an article. I have never seen so many ads in one magazine- not even "Vogue!" If my friend offers me another copy, I'll pass.

Marie Claire is a great magazine that always has really good articles on a lot of different topics. They always feature some sort of story about how women are treated in other parts of the world and it makes you realize how lucky we are to be in the US. It is also informative on beauty and fashion issues. It gives you realistic options of clothes you can actually wear and afford.
