There's more to a ball game than great views, ambiance and gourmet food. Admittedly the Coliseum has none of those things. But after going to numerous Giants games across the SF Bay at Pac Bell, I can't tell you how relaxing and nice it was to go to a game at the Coliseum. Easy parking, no lines at the concession stands, you can walk without having to twist and turn your way through the crowds. Tickets are cheaper too. But the best part is that there are fewer distractions so that you can actually focus on the game. Isn't that the point after all? I took my 5 year old to a few games at Pac Bell and all he wanted to do was watch LouSeal, play in the kids areas, run the bases at the wiffle-ball field. At the Coliseum we actually sit in our seats, eat a few dogs, experience the game and enjoy our time together without all the publicity stunt distractions.

Now called McAfee Coliseum. I can't hate, I'm an A's fan but this should really be a 2. Shared stadium with the Raiders and way to big for the A's. They closed off all the upper sections a couple years ago and they still can't come close to filling it. The players say it's like playing a whole season of away games. What I like, making the BART commute from San Francisco, and then walking across the bridge to get to McAfee, is under the bridge all the abandoned warehouses.

The addition of "Mount Davis" in center field and fences that block you view of the field while you're at the concession stands have turned this once nice stadium into the worst in baseball. I grew up with this stadium and have fond memories of it, but the best we can hope for now in Oakland is that Cisco Field is built soon. This park is not worth visiting ... and that's from someone who would visit any park there is!

Not the greatest stadium, and wasn't improved by the outfield bank of seats put in to accomodate football.

However, the fans are loyal, knowledgeable, and loud, particularly in the deep reaches of the park, and make a visit for a true fan very rewarding.

I was I could have gone pre Mt. Davis. I went in 1998 and heckled Canseco from behind third base.

If Wrigley or Fenway on a summer Saturday afternoon is baseball heaven, a cold, windy April night in near-empty, cavernous, ugly Oakland Coliseum is baseball hell.

How could anyone give this ugly dump with insanely huge foul territory more than 1 star? The A's desperately need a new stadium.

I still wish we would get a new owner so we can get a state of the art stadium.

I like how this multipurpose stadium is set up. It is not like riverfront or Three rivers, but it has the baseball grandstand, and then Mt. Davis. Iff you sit deep down the lines, when you are watching the game you can;t even see it. I think a covered grandstand would add some charm, but it has a lot of good stuff there. One of the better older stadiums.

It doesn't feel as big as it is. Nice stadium overall. Too bad no one in the bay area goes to the games.

Was a beautiful setting for baseball with the open concourse in centerfield then came Mt. Davis which destroyed the park. Hopefully the A's can finally work out financing for a new park.

the Oakland Coliseum is stil a nice place to watch a game but it was a whole lot better befor the Raiders moved back to Oakland and built that ugly Mount Davis structure where the outfield bleachers used to be.

The field itself is a very pretty, lush green; kudos to the grounds crew in Oakland. The park used to have a nice view as well, but no longer with that bank of football seats in center field since the Raiders returned. Too bad.

A very enjoyable place to take in a ball game. Nice sight lines, friendly atmosphere, and beautiful weather.

Another football stadium. Baseball shouldn't be played here.
