M. Night should have stopped with this one.

One of the very few Hollywood films of the last 30 years that actually suprised me at the end. Usually they telegraph the ending, often more than once pandering to the slow-witted. Not so in this movie. Willis and Collette were surprisingly effective but the kid stole the film.

One of, if not the, best "twist" in movie history.

I am a Bruce Willis and Toni Collette fan, so that carries me over and past tepid content. This movie is not going to win any awards, but it is worth a watch, at least once.

Pretty good movie,I didn't figure out the twist ending the first time watching it,Bruce Willis is always great,but toni Collette and the kid was good as well.

Awesome movie. One of my favorites when I first saw it, but starts to get old after a few more viewings. Not Shymalan's best movie, actually. That would be UNBREAKABLE.

From all Shyamalans movies this is the one I dont like so much.

has some creepy moments

I liked this movie, the ending just takes you by surprise (probably not now since it has been out for a while), good acting by Willis who is normally pretty light weight as he is more an action bang bang blow it up type, and Osment was great, usually I abhor child actors but he was great in the role. Very suspenseful from beginning to end, hold you on the edge of your seat that is for sure and that is what we pay for! Good story telling!

Liked it so much and the ending was so surprising, I saw it twice. Good acting and writing.

Great movie, but it's not an action or horror movie, so dont' be expecting anything like that. It does have some horroresque scenes, but it ends up being a thriller/drama.

Great classic. Though not totally lurid, it is one that I will appreciate and soon see on AMC Channel. Keeps me in great suspense and it is surprising how the little things get you to a surprise ending. I can say for Haley Joel Osment at that age, he must be traumatized to see these dead people, but he's used to it, and it was worth the time. Best hit, never underrated.

Easily makes the top-10 list of films of the 90's. . .great stuff. . .Bruce Willis actually did some real acting instead of squinting at the camera. . .and that kid (forgot his name) was terrific. . .

This is a movie that the more you watch it, the more you get from it....same with "The Village."" The guy knows his stuff...

I love this movie. It still freaks me out when I watch it.

An intelligent thriller, easily the best from Shamaylan, a talented director. The acting was good, and the ending had shock value few other films can rival.

A great film overall, and one of the better thrillers available.

Never saw the ending coming. Shocked the crap out of me. Best of M. Night Shymalan's films.

Very creepy. The end was frustrating, because like so many others, I said "Of Course! I should have seen that coming! Duh!"

it took me 2 or 3 starts to watch this movie and it probably would have been better if someone hadnt told me what was going on before i watched it so it took out the suspense but it was a great idea for a movie

Brilliant!...From the beginning to the superlative ending. M. Knight's greatest success and his greatest failure, cuz now, everything he makes will be judged by the standard he set for himself in this movie.

I cant believe this is rated pg 13, I let my little sisters watch this, they cried. They thougt they were seeing dead people walking around the house moaning and screaming for there tender 10 yr old flesh. It took me a week to get them to realize it was just grandma!

I watched it never suspecting the twist at the end.....

I'm sure everyone says that but I have to bring it up one more time: What an unexpected ending. The little boy did such a great job. What an actor. Bruce Willis did a good job too (I'm usually not a fan of his acting skills) The movie was suspensful and it is one of the best movies out there.

Uh-uh. Not scary.

This movie is a must see if you have not seen it and no one has told you about it. It will blow your mind. It certainly made and impact on me. I would love to see a sequel but maybe it is just best to leave it as the classic it is.

This is a film that should never be missed by anyone. After all, you have to be a Sear to be a believer!

I was scared to death!!! I never thought I could be scared of a movie like that! I thought it was great!!!Way 2 go!!!

Skillfully played and the little boy is a gem. Bit leaden paced but nicely edited.

I liked this alot. The ending was very unexpected, but I guess if you looked a little deeper you could have worked it out (DOH). Usually can't stand Bruce Willis and avoid anything he is in, however the plot got me interested. His acting ability left me contented, but young Haley Joel Osment needs to take all credit.

A very good movie in the end when you found out the guy was dead that was crasy I had to see the movie more than ones.

I thought it was scary but I love to scare myself so it was worth it. I sorta thought it was funny when stupid ghost don't know their dead! M. Night Shymalan went a little far making this happen to a child. SPOILER AHEAD : HERE IT IS BRUCE WILLIS IS DEAD. I guess it is stupid of me to be shocked when it happend but I was!

I like M. Night Shymalan's films. So far, Sixth Sense has been his best. It is creepy and suspenseful. Excellent acting from Haley Joel Osment, Toni Collete (a personal favorite), and even Bruce Willis. Like Rocky, the secret star of this movie is the city of Philadelphia. Being an old and kind of foreboding town, the film works exceptionally well there as opposed to, let's say, San Diego. The ending kind of caught me by surprise (which I won't spoil for the 1% of you who have not seen it yet). I will say, when watching it a second time, it was quite obvious. Worthwhile DVD rental.

Predictable!

Boring movie with dull writing and terrible acting. Not a dose of creativity present either.

This movie truly does what a thriller movie should and ought to do and hasn't been doing since the days of Alfred Hitchcock. It wasn't until we finished viewing the film that certain questions started to creep on our psyche and our consciences. Is there truly life after death? Are we alive and living or walking entities? Hayley Joel Osment was outstanding as Cole Sear who kept a dark secret from his unsuspecting mother - having the ability to see ghosts. Bruce Willis surprised me as he was actually quite good. This film has to be the best out of all of M Night Shymalan's films to date.

A very good thriller movie. Very well played by all the actors. Haley Joel Osment is a little boy who can see ghosts. Bruce Willis is the Child Psychiatrist who tries to help him. It has enough suspence without being too gory. The surprise ending is kind of like a Twilight Zone ending.

Went to see this at the cinema with a friend who decided to tell me what the twist was 10 minutes into the sodding film. I still totally and utterly enjoyed the film though. For the past ten years or so Bruce Willis has really flourished in the diverse roles that he has taken and he outshines in this. Haley Joel Osmand shows depth and plays his role convincingly. Toni Colette who plays the mother held up the standard of acting. A very emotional and sometimes scary film that is definately worth watching.

Pedestrian, preictable nonsense saved from being utter trash by good performances by Willis and a couple of others.

one of the stupedist sci-fi movies ever, so stupid that its not even funny. Shamala is a crook who comes up with rip off screen plays. He should change shamala to shaman, which fits his negative iq more appropriately, everybody remember, don't go see any of his movies, last time i checked he's being paid what all of our forefathers combined salary: something like 50 million or so for a screenplay. Shamala needs to stop selling his fraudulent crap and shoot himself.

this was a freakishly good movie...the ending was out of this world..bruce willis as usual was great in it..and the kid did a good job too...the story was amazin..the movie was intense and all..really good fun watchin...shyamalan should carry on wit these type of movies he has a knack for making good ones...

The sixth sense is amazingly well done movie and office smash, that sends chills down your spine.

Alrgiht. Thats perhaps the only word I can find for it. Didn't really have a strong plot. If any part of the movie was good, it had to be the ending.....completely took me by surprise! Very Very good ending.

I DON'T SEE WHAT THE HUBUB IS ABOUT. Bruce Willis plays his normal Bruce Willis character in this movie. The Sixth Sense is definitely good, but it's not stupendous. The kid in the movie is good, and there are some scenes in which the tension builds to a point of jumping, but The ending is predictable. Rent it. Whatch it. Enjoy it, but it's not the best movie in the world.

Great use of misdirection and playing upon assumptions. Well acted and superbly done.

I never cry. I am a grown man who feels it very important never to let anybody see him cry. Thank GOD I was watching this movie alone at the time. I have to say though that when I saw the movie for the second time it was not completely logical. For example, if he could figure out he was dead at the end while observing his wife's agony, why not earlier when he was investigating the boy, etc.?

A great story it but it gets a bit boreing especialy when you know that Bruce Willis is dead in it anyway

I liked this movie. Even though I found it a little obvious. Half way through I guessed what was going on and I turned to my boyfriend and told him. Figuring out where a movie plot is going can take away from the enjoyment, but I liked it anyway.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with goosebumps the first time I saw the ending.

M. Night Shaymalan is definatly one of my favorite directors. I've loved every one of his movies. Especially signs which is an amazing movie. He is so good at working with children. This is proven in the sixth sense by watching Haey Joel Osmands performance in the sixth sense . He carrys around so many emotions that children his age never should experiance so young. His performance is so riviting and exciting and everyone i know loves to watch this movie. This movie is definatly a classic or is on it's way to being one. It has everything a movie lover enjoys to experiance and it is one of those movies in which you feel every tine emoting that these charectors experiance. All and All this is a movie that i could watch over and over and always feel what is going on in these charectors lives.

This is one of the best psycological thrillers since "The Silence of the Lambs". I decided to try Wiggum's "Bathroom Test" when watching this film, and in fact not once did I leave this movie to go to the bathroom so I didn't miss anything. It dragged on at parts, but the acting was supurb and made up for the few errors with the plot. I've never seen a performance as phenominal as that of Hayley Joel Osment. I reccomend this to anyone who likes creepy psycological thrillers because espescially towards the ending it will blow your mind.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers about this one. The holes in the plot knocked this one down a star. If Bruce Willis' spirit remained on Earth with his former wife then you'd think that he'd have been there when his body was taken and buried. But other than that the movie was enjoyable. The actors weren't cheesy or trying too hard to scare you like most horror films.

The movie tagline was "Not every gift is a blessing" and I think not every creepy psycho-thriller is a great blessing either. Guess I don't approve of the storyline - communicating with the dead. Bruce Willis and Haley Joel did excellent acting jobs, and it was cleverly written, but the story ending made me angry. Let's get back to Hitchcock type movies.

overated but awsome movie thrilling and intense

This movie was freaky. I didn't want to be alone for days! Ahh, I still think of it and get freaked out. The thing that makes this scary is that we don't know if it could actually happen! It was brillantly done. I didn't even know the ending until it happend, it was such a twist! I recommend it to anyone that likes to be scared.

Wow! This movie was so huge when it came out because of the ending, I remember that it was one of the only movie endings that I actually was able to keep a secret from all of my friends. And of course, you had to go back a second time!

Awesome movie. Normally, I shy away from Bruce Willis films because I don't really think he's that good. However, I did watch this one, and I will be the first to say that he does an excellent job. The little boy does a great job as the kid who sees dead people.

This was a true horror movie without all of that stereotypical stuff that you see in a horror movie. Haley Joel Osment truly shined in this movie and should've won an Oscar, and woah! I wasn't expecting an ending like that. M. Night Shmalyan has made the template of thought provoking horror movies.

the best movie ever!!!

Yes it had a few plot-holes (c'mon, doesn't Dr.Crowe ever think of starting a conversation with anyone other than the boy?), but the plot-holes doesn't matter. How else can they have a great ending twist? I think that The Sixth Sense, has great acting (Haley Joel Osment - the greatest child actor), and is a great thriller. Although I didn't find it that scary, it still makes you think. It was one of the best films from 1999, and is generally a good movie. Recommended. Summary: GREAT ACTING, GREAT TWIST, GREAT MOVIE.

An absolutely wonderful film. Considering it's tight of budget, it's pretty much fantastic. I applaud it. Most especially Haley Joel Osment's acting. Thou' there are certain inconcsistensies, they try to maintain the reality they're trying to present. Good... good...

With that wonderful twist ending and one of the best juvenile actor performances ever by Haley Joel Osment, this movie ranks as one of the all-time best for me.

Definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen. The acting is awesome. Haley Joel Osment is simply spectacular as the kid who is haunted. Bruce Willis is great as the "Psychiatrist" and Toni Collette does a magnificent job as the child's mother. Genuinely scary movie, does not rely on gore to make it good. Definitely not for kids however as it is scary. But other than the overall fear involved it is a clean movie, with no sexual content and very little profanity.

Riveting! This has gotta be my favorite film of all time.

Masterfully done. If you look deep into the movie and how much they did to puyt it asll together it is amazing. Very powerful motion picture. I really dont like haley joel osmant but he did a good job this time. Also showed bruce willis's compasionate side. Very different from the what we saw in the die hards. The movie also had incredible concepts involved in it.

This is such a creepy movie. After you figure everything out at the end, all the clues are put together in your mind. Great job by the creators of this film.
