Seriously amazing movie turned into seriously horrible TV show. However, this is the movie, and I did like it. ****1/2...but I'll give it **** for the Tv show mistake that they made.

Good movie about the teens attending the High school of performing arts. the first part is around the characters trying out for the high school. it takes the talented teens through the four years of school there. There are a lot of talented young actors portraying the teens.It gives kind of a birds eye view of what it would be like to be a student at the high school of performing arts. the good with the bad.

When this movie came out and the tv show followed, like everyone else I wondered if students actually acted like that at this NYC high school (which DOES really exist). Of course, they didn't but that didn't change the fact that the actors playing the roles were incredibly talented. From the dancers to the singers, these kids were great. Debbie Allen was also top-notch as the demanding teacher.
