watched the movie in high school it was not the worst this that i had to watch

Excellent movie that even has a good story line. it takes place in the early 1900s. A jewish farmer is reluctant to change his traditions in a changing world. Where it is tradition for matchmakers, to find husbands for daughters, tyeve{SP} daughters want to marry the men they love.the papa has to decide it he should stick with traditon or think about his daughters happiness. there are some wonderful songs, If I were a Rich man, Matchmaker, sunrise, sunset,very well acted,. the only criticism I would have is it is a bit too long.

I also had to watch this in Chorus/Drama class too. It was another o.k movie.

The music is simply wonderful but the play of this is down right DULL

Oy, Comon this movie is a classic! Classic songs and so well done. Never been another close to it depicting TRADITION ...Songs from this played at my wedding dinner, and was married under a Chuppa ... Be a mench and admit this was a great movie. The theatre vesions of it were also well done!

Oy, good for the Mogen David set, but for the rest of us, this movie will give you schpilkus. Do you think I'm kidding?

You'd have to be pretty desperate to enjoy this extremly corny and goofy musical. The movie is extremly slow-paced and at times a bit silly. The acting is pretty mad, even considering the year it was made. The only good thing about this movie is the settings, that are barely noticeable because of how badly the camerawork was.
