God I hated Cocoon. Who knew Brimley could shoot hoops like that. The guy is only like 70yrs old today.

An original idea. Good bunch of veteran actors and a well made film I think by Ron Howard.

I enjoyed the older actors in this movie (Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn and many more) and felt they must have had fun making this movie about their own fountain of youth discovery in a swimming pool.  The catch is that they must leave for another land with aliens to have this good health and eternal life and leave behind children and grandchildren and even spouses who opt not to leave.  Very entertaining.

I wasn't too into this movie, but it could have been a lot worse. It also could have been a lot better.

charming Sci-fi movie about aliens who come to earth to claim some pods left years ago in the ocean. they disguise themselves as humans and rent a house near a retirement village. the aliens store these pods in a swimming pool at the rented house. some of the elderly men have been using swimming pool secretly. when they see the pods in the pool they swim anyway. Now they find that they are feeling much better and youthful. turns out these pods have some magical way of reviving youth. they bring more of their friends and spouses and all feel younger and better. they find out these fake humans are really aliens and they become friends with them. when they are invited to go back to the aliens planet they must decide it they want to stay on Earth and go back to growing old. or have erternal youth on another planet. Very sweet different kind of sci-fi movie. there are also a lot of great older actors in this movie.

Cocoon is a movie that will either entertain you, or bore you to death. It depends on how you see sci-fi films, and if you can take all of the older actors, and the kind of silly plot that goes along with it.

This movie was one of my all time favorites. I was only about 12 when I first saw this movie. But the fantasy of just thinking about this plot gives you a good feeling. I actually wish all aliens were like that. Instead of fighting the aliens they approach the aliens to befriend them. And in return they were granted the fountain of youth. That just goes to show how much you can accomplish when you're an alien.

It was a great movie. It was too loud. It had good sentimental value.

A movie for geriatrics. Old people who get a renewed vigor due to sucking the life force of a couple of unhatched aliens. This is supposed to be an uplifting film? Probably the biggest and worst oversight is that with all the renewed vigor, they still have thin, old, disgusting bodies they you to frolic with. Gross!

I have no idea why, but I really liked this movie. Every time I see a Quaker Oats commercial with Wilfred Brimley I expect him to say, "If you eat the oats you won't ever get old, and you won't ever die."
