04/13/2004 | EW is a good magazine with alot of great articles and reviews. They keep me up to date on whats going on in the entertainment world with news on upcoming movies, and even some great interviews. It also provides the best listings on the box office, rentals, and book sales.

01/23/2003 | They sometimes have a humorous way of looking at "stars", and I really enjoy that about this magazine. People in the entertainment industry sometimes take themselves way too seriously, and EW calls them on it. The reviews are on target a majority of the time, though they are at times a little too narrow minded, and I also enjoy reading the best selling books and music charts.

01/28/2002 | A good source of news for eveything in entertainment. The only hitch is that it's specificly more towards pop-culture (They even have an entire section by that same name).Don't expect to find any independent or underground news. You may find a tidbit here and there, but it's a rareity.

05/09/2001 | I gave EW three stars because it is quite often that I start one of their articles and can't finish it. They are usually repititive and dull. Plus, I often wonder how Gleiberman and Scharzbaum keep their jobs: their movie reviews are TOO out in left field somewhere! But what I love about this mag is that it covers recent news that I usually wouldn't get from anywhere else (I can't stand ET, or Hard Copy, or Access Hollywood!) and, above all, it's _____ (fill in the blank- Spring,Fall, etc.) Movie Preview issues are so extensively researched and entertaining! Those issues are the only thing I count on to be informed on what's coming up in the recent months. So although EW could use some improvement, it is still a pretty useful periodical!

Many issues focus a bit too much on one subject, and there are tons and tones of ads, but you can see yourself hooked onto this magazine. It's just something to look at when you missed the academy awards, or the newspaper boy couldn't deliver the arts and entertainment section in the paper.

Entertainment Weekly gives you the info you can't even find in similar magazines such as the latest TV ratings and what's hot on the music charts. EW's magazine covers are also done quite well and every issue features impressive photography. EW is definitely one of my favourite magazines.

But where do you draw the line between art and entertainment? They should write about porno in every issue. That's a form of entertainment. So is watching retarded people argue, but I'm sure you won't find that in there. It's all soap opera BS that doesn't make any difference to anything important. People are stupid and they feed off it.

I like the sarcastic column in the beginning of each mag and I also like the page with the gossip about celebs (it has lawsuits, marriages, deaths, etc.).

Provides interesting information about almost everything there is to know in the entertainment world and does not overwhelm the reader with ridiculously boring articles that last 5 pages like most other magazines. I look forward to my issue every week.

It rarely makes for uninteresting reading and is always up to date given its weekly publishing schedule, as a long time subscriber I've come to know the movie reviewer's opinions quite well. I have determined Lisa Schwarzbaum is wrong all the time. TV and book reviews are good, as is the music coverage.
