Mostly because I'm interested in his life in all aspects-spiritual, political, practical, and social-that all I wanted to know was addressed. His upbringing and early family life was more complex than I thought. He could foster the Buddhist family of mankind from anywhere, as he has the reverence, and respect, and responsibility to help find the answer to human suffering, and to find a solution. His exhile is spoken of as a relief solution to human suffering that turned out to be a bigger platform for him.

I'm not sure what I expected from this book, but I found it a little disappointing. Still, the Dalai Lama comes off as a decent, very down to earth leader.
