I loved this book because it had so many ups and downs to the story. I love another story that everyone should love is a christmas carol. Charles Dickens is one of my favortie writers

Mr. Micawber ("annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen and six, result - happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure, twenty pounds ought and six, result - misery!"), Betsy Trotwood, Peggotty, the very eccentric (but caring) Mr. Dick and Uriah Heep, are just some of the characters in this wonderful novel, which makes this another Dickens classic. Largely semi- autobiographical (Dickens alludes to parts of his life throughout), David Copperfield (* (geddit? C.D. in reverse) was considered by Dickens himself, to be his best and favourite novel.

I really like Dickens' work, but too similar to Oliver Twist. Check out his masterpiece, Great Expectations.

most of Dicken's novels were published in episodes while he supported his family by journalism so in a sense Moosekarloff is right to say that he was a penny per word hack. His writing had to suit the middle class readership of the victorian era so the only way he could get away with critising the socity he lived in was by masking what he said in sentimentality.

This guy is one of the most overrated writers of all time. A real penny-per-word hack of the first order. Mawkish and sentimental. Cartoonish characters. No style, depth, substance, inventiveness. I'm surprised that anyone even reads this clod anymore.

Though it is the same storyline of Oliver Twist, I always prefered David Copperfeild. I love Dickens anyway.

This book was OK. I would suggest reading it if you like long books. Dickens is very long winded, but if you are patient he's worth it.

English story relates to my life. Continuing storyline draws the audience to the story. I like the description of characters.
