 | Donovan (129) 05/24/2008 | Peace in the world I'm afraid will never happen, but as Christians we can be at peace with ourselves and others.
If we could only learn to live in peace with each other.
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, wehave peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans

 | MissPackRat4Jesus (38) 05/09/2008 | ORIGINAL (from 10-5-04): RIA's dear little friend Iluvjoshjackson99 has brought up the song I've Got the Joy Down in my Heart, a tune many of us who were raised in church has come to know and love. Well, there is also a verse that mentions the PEACE that passes understanding. Stop for a minute, and take a look. Even in these extremely troubled times, it is possible to have peace in our hearts. Again, this is something that we (as long as we are in our mortal bodies) can't do within ourselves. It has to be God's peace -- the peace that the world doesn't understand.
UPDATE: I find it no coincidence that this list item has come up once again. There seems to be many people, even Christians, that can't seem to agree to disagree dispite their differences. We are called to be witnesses, and all this useless fighting doesn't look very good from the world's point of view. Which is why many don't want any part of Christianity. Very sad.

 | LadyJesusFan777 (33) 05/09/2008 | I think all of us should do what we can to live at peace with one
another, and one thing that is for sure, strife will not enter into the
kingdom of Heaven. Jesus says in Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the
peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."

 | Mograce2U (4) 09/18/2005 | The peace of God is both a gift and a fruit. There is also a false peace that the world seeks and seems to have within itself. What makes the peace of God different? It is a peace that despite all turmoil stays focused upon Christ. It is not only peace within since that may be false, but it is a peace that is stayed upon Christ, despite what conflict and reason may be telling you otherwise: you believe in Christ. You know that you know that you know and it gives you peace even when all else would tell you otherwise. It is a peace that is confident and also bold. Such a peace is not weakness but strength. It is based upon truth and is a peace with God Himself. It is not a peace based upon ignorance but upon knowledge AND experience. I know that God answers my prayers and this gives me great peace despite whatever circumstance I am in. I believe and trust in God AND I know that He hears me because He answers my prayers! The world can never understand this confidence that the Christian has because it is a gift from God. The false peace of the world is only the absence of conflict; whereas God's peace comes in the midst of conflict and gives us strength to do those things that please Him.

 | Gentle Jude (23) 03/28/2005 | This is one of the most sought out things apart from love. People find no peace because they don't know how to get it. They think if the bad person who is giving them trouble would go out of their lives, or they moved to a new neighbourhood or had another job, they would be at peace. But if you want real peace, accept Jesus into your life, and cast all your cares on Him and He will give you rest. It all springs from faith - peace. If you have faith that God will protect you, provide for you and will always love you and never leave or forsake you, you can be at peace even in the midst of a storm. Peace is when you feel at rest in your spirit and you feel calm and undisturbed. To truly be at peace, you must also have a clear conscience because if you don't, even if you get what ever you want, you will still never be at peace because there is no rest for the wicked. That is why Jesus is the gateway to peace and He was known as the Peaceful One or Prince of Peace. Like all of the fruits of the Spirit, peace is something that has to be shared. The way to share peace is to be willing to compramise ie not get your own way all the time and to shut up when you could say something that may really cause a big argument.
